Giverny is a village in the region of Normandy in northern France. Impressionist painter Claude Monet lived and worked here from 1883 until his death in 1926. The artist’s former home and elaborate gardens, where he produced his famed water lily series, are now the Fondation Claude Monet museum.

debb. It's well worth it. I went there quite a few years ago and have never forgotten how lovely it was. The gardens are beautiful ! I had a look inside Monet's house too, which was interesting. There aren't any paintings by Monet but I remember seeing a lot of Japanese prints, which Monet was very interested in. And there were some original paintings by Berthe Morisot, one of Monet's female contemporaries, and one of the few, if not the only, female Impressionist painter. I thought they were very good. The gift shop is very good too, with some excellent books and prints. I still have a book about Monet I bought there, and it is excellent, very informative about his life and art , and with great illustrations !

Too few). Yet, there are 75 that give it a thumb down. 75 don't like it? Who are these 75? Is there a soul to be found somewhere in their being? Their thought process --yes, they must have one-- is totally incomprehensible to me.

Dear Gaetano: my reply now there are 84 dislikes why? Because they don't have an appreciation for painting as you and I do. They probably can't even draw a straight line let alone paint. A thrill for me was about 4 years ago to venture to France and visit Monet's gardens and house. What a thrill it was, this brings back wonderful flower full memories and to walk across the bridge or to see his delightful yellow kitchen. Thank you so much, I feel sorry for any dislikes, I'd like to see them paint and be a marvel to our youth to carry on tradition. RIP Mr Monet, with love....💐🌹🌷❤️

Perhaps the thumbs downs are because the Monet paintings that are shown are incredibly pixelated. As much as I love his paintings, these images are very distracting and do not show his amazing skill! The gardens ARE amazing in the spring!

I was student of fine arts in bachelor level in pakistan when I was introduced Monet, years passed away I am still fan of Monet too much

Thank you for sharing somewhere of a place not everyone in the world often goes to.The ones like this to add that.Not me for sure I go see a frat of flowers and colors and peacefulness that has something to look at it and sound as well.This place called Monets garden.💐🌹🦋🍃🌅🏞
