Emery isn't infallible..no one is but the beauty is ..he recognises his mistakes and remedies them quickly...generally proactive rather than reactive unlike most. .Half time substitutions shows the humility of the man to own his own misjudgements..making the team and the club the priority over his own pride

Hammers fan from the states here. Love the channel and I agree with your observations. I do see our two clubs as somewhat similar other than the colors. We've both been mid table teams and below over our recent history. Really happy that Villa is playing great football and doing well under Emery. VAR is still an issue and I am disappointed we didn't get the three points I think the draw was fair. I think Villa made good subs to change your squad. Pulling Antonio for a defender in my opinion just played into Villa's hands. I would have rather seen Ings or another striker come on for us. Be that as it may, you have a good squad and I wish you the best kicking the ding dings of the big clubs up at the top of the table!

@waynemullen1285 yes we are in need of another striker. We also need to press a bit higher on a more consistent basis. I like Moyes but he places a bit more on protecting a lead than attacking the lead.

I'm glad you brought up Konsa because I know he's a fan favourite but I've really felt that his decision making and general play has been under par for a few games now, which is ironic given his England call up. His first half performance against Ajax away was terrible (BEFORE being sent off), his pass to Tielemans against Spurs arguably changed the game (and instigated McGinn's over-zealous reaction?) - and now this display at the Hammers. I think he's still fantastic, but I honestly didn't see too much that Lenglet did wrong to be pulled off while Konsa stayed on. Same thing for Diego Carlos in the sense that many fans don't seem to hesitate giving him a bad time when he defends badly, but I can see his stature and his long ball accuracy helping us at very specific times. Konsa, doesn't possess long ball accuracy, he doesn't dribble or distribute as well as Pau, and is he REALLY that much better than Cash at right back? So if he's all just okay in all these departments and is now also NOT defending the middle of the goal well...then I don't know what to say
Bailey definitely played the ball off the defenders hand. He's definitely good enough.

The rules encourage attackers to kick the ball at defenders' hands, that's deffo what Bailey was up to. Many don't like it, I certainly don't, but it's the rule that's the problem. A Man U player does that, especially Rat Face, and it's a stonewall, mark my words. Great show Pete, Safe journey and UTV
You pick your team but the good bit is changing it if it doesn't go well. We have been through a difficult patch, we have to rotate. Emery did a great job, we could have won this game with our 2nd half performance but for once Var was on our side and correctly so. 4th place with 9 games to go is exceptional, the position and cup is in our hands. I saw a show where they had the audio for that last handball ball. Because the ball didn't go directly into the goal from the Soucek handball, but it got Bowen (and it was unclear if his was a handball), all the VAR could do was send the referee to the screen and recommend that it was and intentional handball from Soucek and he had to confirm that.
To me, a draw was a fair result 👏 up the mighty villa
As ever great review Pete - poor goal to concede but we did well to regain a big piece of the game - would have taken point at the outset - this stage of the season is all about hanging in there and keeping those points ticking over ........big game now against the Dingles but 3 points on the weekend adds an afterglow to this result .......

You can infer bailey wasnt attempting to play the ball to konsa as the choice of ball distribution doesnt match the type of pass that would have given the most value.
Spot on about Rogers, he looks promising ,just needs a few more games.

Handball for me is; if a player moves his hand towards the flight of the ball and it makes contact. OR if a player does not move his hand away from the flight of the ball when he has time to.
If a ball is kicked at a players hand, and the time between it leaving the players boot and striking the hand is too short for the player to react, it's 'ball to hand', rather than 'hand to ball'.
The ref has to make a decision in a split second in the heat of a game, but it's always been thus, and they will get it wrong, that's football.
But they'll get it wrong less with better training and more clarity.
I've seen enough of Duran now, he's a prospect but too raw to rely on. I'm praying Watkins stays fit, because any romantic notion I may have had that our young Columbian is ready to lead the line and can do a job was unrealistic. I thought he had an opportunity at one point to make a near post run for Watkins and he didn't. He hasn't got that scorers instinct, but it can be taught.

Konsa had a horrible showing in our 0-4 defeat and another horrible game in this one. I don’t think he’s our best option and I’m afraid it will take more leaked goals for many other Villans to see it.
Also regarding Tielemans- he has a high pass accuracy but that’s because he’s always passing back so often. He’s afraid to take a risk or make a mistake, and with him there it takes away from Luis being able to connect more passes forward
He was solid pre injury. Digne Carlos Torres and Konsa is our best back 4 by a mile
