- I took a trip to the capital as I visited the worst football stadium in the premier league... It's an olympic stadium so I don't think anyone can disagree but if you do... let me know which you think is the worst!

I was there for Freiburg in the Europa League. I´m hopping since approx. 11 years and west ham stadion was the worst atmosphere i´ve ever experienced. (excluding freiburg fans, they did a phenomenal job)
The problem is us fans inside it nit the stadium, we are flat at home
As a season ticket holder at West Ham, I will admit we have a pretty souless atmosphere. However in big matches it's electric, for example the stadium was shaking vs Sevilla when we won 2-0. And I would also say that we have some of the best fans in the country, it's just difficult to make an atmoshpere when you need binoculars to see the pitch
i just feel like bowl stadiums don't create good atmosphere in general. highbury was much better than the emirates in terms of atmosphere imo. white hart lane was louder than tottenham hotspur stadium.
West Ham home atmosphere is very mid but they have a good away one 👍
Same as the etihad or any other stadium that wasn't built for football. Atmosphere killers.

Nobody thinks Stadio Olimpico is a beauty either. That's why both the Rome clubs have been planning to move away from there for ages. The same thing for Hertha Berlin as well.

Not a West Ham fan but they should of stopped this happening, modern stadiums r all shit and fans will argue who has the best pizza restaurant, I’m old school but football is not a working class sport anymore.

I was at this game as an away fan in the lower tier. The view wasn’t awful. It was the atmosphere that let me down because I was expecting better from West Ham fans
Great, nicely edited video mate! I think over time, the stadium has gotten better, in terms of atmosphere and as a result of West Ham doing bits to make it feel like home. It ain't the best, but is slowly getting there, year in, year out

Chasing bigger and bigger crowds is all very well but you reach the stage where even at a ground built for football you are so far away or so high that the experience is not good. Spurs may be a fantastic stadium but I was so high up at the back of the 4th or 5th tier that the angle was weird and the players tiny. Do wonder at times if having a higher capacity than 45,000 is worthwhile. A running track area around the pitch is an absolute no no for atmosphere.

So far from the pitch you’ll never get decent atmosphere, but give us some entertaining football to watch and the atmosphere will be a lot better than it’s been whilst watching the turgid crap we’ve been served up the last couple of seasons. To watch your team constantly out of possession and inviting teams on when you are playing at home does not get the fans off their seats.

Going there for the Baseball in July. No great expectations, hope there are plenty of TV monitors for the crowd if its a garbage view.
ST holder at Upton Park for 20 years starting in the mid 80s - I've been to this place about six or seven times and every time I say it's the last time I'll go there, before forgetting how bad it is and then getting talked into going again. You can't see the players, you can't hear the fans, it's a vacuum and should be demolished. I hope I wasn't sitting on the fence there.

Easy to get an away ticket and good transport links is the best thing about it .
I was so disappointed when I heard they were moving into the Olympic stadium. It wasn't that magical an experience when I went to the Anniversary Games in 2013 but I at least hoped the Olympic park would be the foundation of some kind of sports legacy. Can't see that happening now unfortunately!

they need to dig down and make the pitch lower so they can have seats closer and will also increase capacity as an added bonus

I was there on Thursday with B’mth and it has got better, I’ve been there six times and as bad as it seems it has got better from the first time, there is to much separation between the away fans and the sooner they can fill in the parts where the purple mesh is the better it will be.
You’ve picked about the furthest seat in the stadium at that level, and a game that had no atmosphere for obvious reasons. Couldn’t be much happier with our stadium and all the people we get in it’s great. Can be bouncing when our awful home fans feel up to it ie vs Sevilla.
The surrounding area is worse than the inside of the stadium.
I’m an Ipswich fan but my mate is West Ham, I’ve been 3 times this season, Freiburg, Man U & Bournemouth. Lovely facilities but it’s just not a football stadium, awful atmosphere and it’s a shame as Upton Park was rocking. Sad to see.

This stadium was never intended for football. West Ham rent this stadium for serious sums of money.
Technically speaking West Ham are now no more than a brand. West Ham as a football club died when Upton Park was sold off. This is not West Ham this is Stratford!
Stratford is in the Civil parish of West Ham.... So it is in West Ham.... Infact, Upton Park is East Ham, so for 100 years they were never in West Ham AT ALL... Until now......Geography lesson over....

A couple weeks ago me and 9000+ Bristol city fans went to the London stadium the atmosphere from the Home fans was dreadful. Us Bristol city fans brought the atmosphere to the stadium. WORST ATMOSPHERE IVE EVER BEEN TOO.

For being the worst stadium in the premier league it is till good, you are familiar with Italian stadiums, London stadium would be a luxury here
We are not talking about the architecture of the stadium... Every serie a teams has a better experience than west ham one

It was worth moving to get an extra 25,000 fans into the stadium. They make £4.2 million in ticket sales per game, which is less than the rent they are paying to play there for the whole year.

I’ve never been and can’t believe how lifeless it is, went to their old ground numerous times, great experience, a proper stadium and atmosphere, feel for the fans as it’s not a football stadium, and must be a bore week in week out, probably why West Ham fans away are so good, they miss real football stadiums
I am a West Ham season ticket holder and concur that it’s a terrible football stadium, filled with compromises. The shape is all wrong, the lower tier’s gradient is too shallow and in the upper tier you are too far from the pitch and overlook tarpaulin that covers hideous gaps. Also, the Billy Bonds ‘cop’ is not the continuous stand it seems as from the first row of the upper tier you can peer into concourse below and watch people buy hotdogs! Oh, and there are no upper tier concourses meaning the toilets are usually full as they serve both tiers.
You didn’t show the worst bit. If you stay til the final whistle it takes an hour to get to Stratford station. 60,000 people all trying to get the first train out of there.
West Ham used to be such a beautiful club. Now its completely ruined. Only a club who has the money who plays in the PL is left 😢 rip upton park 😢

Blaming atmosphere on a stadium is so stupid. A few of the best atmospheres in Europe are by fans of clubs who play in athletic stadiums. Roma, Lazio, Napoli, Crvena Zvijezda, Dinamo Zagreb etc.

Im an exile Mancunian what lives in Scarborough now. I followed Manchester city for 40 years. My last City game was about 3 years ago V Norwich first game of the year. We were reigning Champions and the atmosphere was pitful. And 50 pound for the privilege. That was it for me. Fed up with paying ludicrous ticket prices, sat with corporate and day trippers who only jumped on the football bandwagon after Euro 96 because it became also fashionable. Sick and tired of silly kick off days and times to accommodate Sky and TNT sport's. City will always be my club in my blood. And it was done with an heavy heart. But i just stopped enjoying the match going Experience. Its not the game i grew up with stood on the kippax at Maine Road in the 80s90s even the early 00s. I watch none league Scarborough now. I enjoy it.

Went recently with Bristol City, it’s a soulless experience, I went to Upton Park back in 2011 and it was beautiful modern stadium, it had character. The renditions of bubbles at both stadiums was like chalk and cheese. Feel sorry for true Hammers fans, they must feel like they’ve been mugged.

100% agree. Hopefully if we get new owners we can build a stadium like Upton Park but has the capacity of London Stadium. They only moved because it was probably cheaper and they would accept anything over 10 million knowing them

l went there when it played West Ham vs Olympiacos it was Europa league and it was 1-0 West Ham won!
Upton Park not as great as people will let on, but a million miles better than that shithole.

I take my boy there - he’s 7 and it’s perfect for him. Straight off the train and walk in. Plenty of facilities, unobstructed views. No traffic, no cars around at all.
