Every single time I hear the 15 series I am reminded how good they sound. Exactly what a mahogany guitar should sound like in my opinion.
Wonderful playing
Yes! Yes!Yes! Excellent truly beautiful!
Thank you. Lovely playing, man.
amazing playing!! thanks for that :-)
Beautiful guitar and beautiful playing, brother!!!
Keep coming to watch this while my 00-15m is on layaway. Thanks for posting!
Lovely playing and tone.
Stunning.
Wow, love it 😍
Magnífico, bravo!!!!!
I love that guitar....the sound it awesome and it's totally beautiful to see.
Nice dynamics and feel in your playing. Great finger picking technique. I must chuck those MA500T strings on my Martin 00-15m. Inspiring listening to you Chris! 🎸
Very nice playing and the recording is good too.
I've had mine for about a month. I concur with it being a beautiful instrument and it sounds perfect. Great playing!
Dude. You made me fall in love. For sure ordering one now
This is only the second video I've seen from you ( the other being the Eastman E1D video) but I just wanted to say of the hundreds of videos I've watched reviewing acoustics there is something so human and soulful in your playing that pulled me in immediately..looking forward to hearing more
Thank you so much B.A. Reading this comment made my day. I’m so happy to hear the music resonated with you. I think that’s what it is supposed to be all about. Take care
Nice playing Chris!
Your playing is so emotional. Very beautiful music.
Thank you Scott
you're so talented. I love listening to you play!
Thanks so much Julie! Means a ton!
Beautiful playing!!
Thanks Stephen!
Nice playing, and perfect sound in your video. The pure essence of the 00-15M. I am in love with mine, that one will never go out.
Thank you very much sir.
Loved this video. You are a wonderful player, and the 00-15M fits your style perfectly.
Thank you David, very kind of you
Nice guitar. Even better playing👍
beautiful sounds.
I think I've watched this video literally a thousand times.
Chris thank you for this.
Thank you so much for your kind words Mike, it means a lot.
What a beauty! 😍
played one of these a bit back at a guitar center and was super impressed. I actually, despite not being in the market for one, helped the sales guy out and ended up bearing witness to someone else in the store buying it. the bass resonates through the back so well, it's a really nice instrument.
Way to go man. Yeah it’s very lightly built, and like you say - incredibly resonant.
Excellent brother. You have me wanting an Eastman from another video you did. Stellar style and playing.
Thanks bud, I really appreciate your kind words. The Eastman stuff is absolutely incredible. Never tried a bad one.
Very nice... Playing and production... excellent sound quality, as good as the guitar playing :),
Thank you very much Mike
Holy cow that’s good.
great stuff
The guitar, your talent, and your beard are all equally impressive. Well done, sir!
Haha thanks William, my pleasure.
Man you sold me this guitar, I have just got a 00-15m today !
You sound great and your playing is wonderful !
thanks
Wow man thank you! And huge congratulations with your new 6 string friend for ever :D it’s a GREAT little guitar!
I love my 000-15m thoses guitars are awesome !!
Amazed at your playing. I hope one day to be able to lay down pieces such as these.
Thank you, I really appreciate that
Great guitar and it is my dream guitar 🤩
Such great playing, Like others have said, Your skills are exceptional. I noticed one for sale second hand near me and on my way to play it tomorrow. I recently let my Eastman E80m go and have been looking for a Martin to replace it for a few months and absolutely love the tones you are getting with the 15m. Look forward to more of your videos and your playing style!
Thank you Tom, it means a lot!
Thanks for the great video. This is exactly the style of playing I wanted to hear from this guitar. A lot of other videos of this guitar feature mostly flat-picking or strumming. I don’t play with a pick, and it’s great to hear the nuances in dynamics in your playing. From individual note clarity to subtle percussive strumming, the mellow tone can be really balanced by right-hand technique. Great expressive playing, by the way.
Now I just need to decide 00 or 000. (I already have a parlor size Gretsch, so I’m leaning towards 000 for variety, but this sounds like it’s right in the pocket for the tone I want.)
Thank you very much for your comment.
I’m glad you found something you can relate to. It’s so important. I also try to find videos where the gear im interested in is played in a manner that is similar to what I play and like, otherwise it gets a little useless.
I’d definitely go for the 000. I’ve recently bought me one of those, and oh boy it sings. And Martin apparently adjusted their prices down on them, great win! Take care bud
Super sound; super tunes and super playing👍🎸👍
Nostalgic tone/playing...
Just found a used one - needed some love but it's becoming a fav for gigging now. Zero issues - just an honest satisfying sound and great playability. And a very doable 900.00 used. Win win. Great playing btw :)
Nice find man! Congrats
Played several new guitars back to back including new 000-18, 000-28 standards, Modern Deluxes, Custom Shops, a Southern Jumbo, a Collings, and a Taylor GA. All very nice. Then I played the 000-15m. 000-15M came home, easily the one that I liked the most.
Yeah I’ve got one of them 000-15’s as well, and it’s sounds amazing. It’s such an understated guitar with a beautiful organic tone, crisp, sweet and warm at the same time.
Daaaang... nice guitar, but... really beautiful playing. Thanks for this.
I have a 000 ordered and arriving March, maybe. All i have is RUclips clips to get me through and even though this is a 00, this is the best sounding demo ive seen so far and ive watched it many times ☺
Congratulations Brad
Oh that wait is the hardest part.
I hope it’s gonna bring you years of joy. Thank you very much for your kind words. It means a lot.
Hello Chris. First, I must tell you that you’re playing is very inspirational to me, and your guitar is absolutely beautiful. I had one of those not too long ago but I had to sell it because of financial difficulty at the time. But you have inspired me to get another one regardless of how long it takes. And my gosh, the price has gone up on those - when I got it it was about $1200 - they were up to $1500 and recently I’ve seen them for something like $1699. But I don’t care. I will be getting another one someday possibly because of your inspiration. I could listen to this video over and over. I have played the 000-15m, but I prefer 00-15m because of it’s size, and I am pretty much a 95% fingerstyle player. Take care Chris, and keep up the good work - I’ll be listening.
Thank you so much Dan!
Bro that sounds so sweet and you played very well
Thank you so much .
Love it. I bought a 000 on Thursday and I'm waiting for the electronics to get installed. This helps me with the waiting!
What pickup did you get? Trying I decide myself
@@johnuhrig6993 I tried the LR Baggs Anthem, but my tech said it wouldn't fit, so I went with the Fishman Matrix Infinity. Sounds great!
Just subscribed, your worth it, love the 00-15
Thank you John, very kind of you
Chris, you should record an album of your tunes played on an 00015m. Seriously, I'd buy it in an instant!
Thank you Lawrence. I hope one day to make that dream come true🙏
I second that. Wonderful style and playing.
I fourth that !!!
Wow great playing and great video. I saw one of these used locally recently and it might be time to take another look…
Thank you Matt
Yeah, that would be a great opportunity to hear how it sounds and feels. I’m still loving mine, even more know it’s older.
I am patiently waiting for mine to arrive . Can't wait. Newfoundland Canada here. Stay safe and be well and thanks for sharing :)
Am now the owner of one for 3 beautiful weeks now. I love love it. :) :) :)
How long is the turn around for these right now? I’m in Ontario and considering getting one
@@erinjoy8338 I am not sure now since the USA is mostly vaccinated so it may be a bit faster now. Check with Long & McQuade . That is where i bought mine from in St Johns NL but you have a supplier close to you i am sure . Stay safe and be well
Great playing. Great sounding guitar. I ordered one after watching this video. 3rd Martin....
Thanks Joe, I appreciate it. Can’t go wrong with a Martin, or Martins in your case :D Not gonna be my only one, but they are a bit pricey in EU, so I’m saving.
I have this same guitar.. Nice to hear it played the way it should be.
That’s very kind of you to say, thank you
I’ve never heard a 15m that didn’t sound fantastic. This one is no exception.
After researching all forms of 00 & 000 Martins I was about to pull the trigger on a 000-18 but now i'm not so sure. This is the best 00-15M video I've seen.
Thanks man, I really appreciate it.
If you are more a strummer I’d go for the triple-aught. This can definitely do it, but it compresses quickly when strumming hard. I’m generally a pretty soft player, and it sounds beautiful for that. The bigger brother (000-15) will sound somewhat fuller, but the added low end can imo be a bit too overwhelming - especially for recording purposes. Unfortunately I haven’t any experience with the 000-18, I’d love to play one though. It’s a different animal, and perhaps a bit more ‘alround’ compared to the 15 series. Great guitar hunting :-)
I listen to this while I'm working today... maybe one day i can play mine that well :)
Thank you Jennifer, it’s very kind of you to say that.
Whoa great feel. Is that dadgad? Beautiful Melodies thank you
Thanks man, appreciate it! I can’t remember exactly what tuning, but it’s not dadgad. I might have stated the correct tuning in other comments.
Best value in the "Martin-verse"
Oh man this sound amazing! Big fan of the mahogany guitars😍
I have all mahogany Takamine..The only problem i had it was to find strings that will suits her. You know its a big dreadnought. With massive stings it sounded like a barrel. When i put Elixir 10's on it...Its sounds like Eric Clapton would record on it,even its a relatively cheap guitar. Not to mention of prescission of craftsmanship? a Luthier said, i used every single piece of tool i have, this guitar is made "right on the money". Im kinda lying when i think of it,it was a bit dried out, frets started to poke your palm...Butt thats it...Of course that was fixed.
Hearing this made my day. Love small body mahogany guitars. Especially my Martin 000-15. This one has a great tone. Make some moire videos playing that Martin.
Thank you so much. You writing this comment made my day. I will do, most definitely.
Take care
Really like your sound!! Since 3 days I hav a new 0015 hoping to play like you one day👍 greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
Very kind of you to say that, thank you.
This Friday (10-2) my 00-15m arrives....so happy !
Wow that's gonna be a big day. Congrats man. I hope it'll bring you a lot of joy.
After hearing you play this guitar I’m buying one your playing and the guitar sounds amazing I need another guitar like a hole in the head but u know how it goes 😂😂thank u for the music great video cheer’s from Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Chris, simply wonderful playing. I also have one of these guitars - wish I could play it as well as you! Best Regards, Ed.
Thank you so much Ed, I really appreciate it man.
The style 15 Guitars are all made in the Martin Custom Shop. Just no hide glue but the new A bracing and a great tone.
All that’s missing is a roaring fire, some s’mores, and a sky full of stars. What a wonderful demo, I’ve wanted one for so long but the money has just never been available.
Thank you, that would be really nice.
I finally bought this beauty several months ago, now need to get more into the spirit of practicing
@Leonisdarko...... nice:)
Beautiful music, Chris... so relaxing and enjoyable just listening to you play. Thank you for sharing. I called some local guitar shops today hoping to play and compare the 00-15m and 000-15m... nobody has the 00. I did get to try the 000-15SM at the most nearby shop. Didn't like the tuning pegs on that one. Also got to try a 00-28, so I know I like that size, and what gorgeous guitar that is, but I really want the sweet, rich, mellow sound that you so elegantly demonstrate here with the 00-15m. May just have to order it. Thanks again for the beautiful demonstration... gonna listen again now... love your music.
I just ordered a set of Kluson Prestige nickel open gear tuners with parchment buttons to complete the old style look. The OEM Grovers are heavier and either too delicate or slow to respond depending on which string. Hope to see how my upgrade works in a few days.
@@tomformanek3312 is that for the 000-15? Like Lori I don’t like the tuners om my 000-15SM.
@@im58woody Yep.
@@tomformanek3312 let me know what you think about them when you get them on. I’d like to replace mine. Thanks!
@@im58woody For what it's worth... I finally got my 00-M15 and it took about a month to get use to the tuners. Surprisingly, I don't even think about them anymore... just tune-up and play. Loving this guitar!
Beautiful playing and thanks for it. I own the Streetmaster cutaway dread, and it is really the easiest playing, coolest sounding acoustic I have in the man cave. Just subscribed to your channel so I can hear more of your wonderful playing.
Thank you so much Thomas. The 15 series are absolutely great guitars. I have yet to try the dreadnaught, but I’ve tried the 000-15 street master and it sounds gorgeous. Thank you for your sub. I have planned to make another video of this guitar in a near future.
Take care
Chris
@@ChrisEffort which is better? I have access to 000-15 but I can't find a 00-15 here, but I really love how 00-15 sounds.
@@papidey23 Hi David
They are both equally great. If it’s gonna be your only acoustic I would take the 000, it’s a bit fuller sounding, but not ‘better’ if it makes sense. The 00 is bit more mid focused, but still have great low end.
@@ChrisEffort Thanks Chris! I've already ordered the 000 Streetmaster, so I'm very excited now!!! :D
@@papidey23 Not a bad choice at all! You’re gonna enjoy that guitar I’m absolutely sure! Did you see my last video of the StreetMaster?
Yey〜👍so good acoustic guitar sound‼️ We love mahogany guitars🙋
Yup, mahogany guitars are sweet and warm.
Sounds incredible. Nice picking too. I'm looking at Martin 000-15M and the 000-18 which I love.
Sounds great!
Small hogs are so cool.
Thanks Paul, I couldn’t agree more - I love smaller bodied guitars.
@@ChrisEffort
I subscribed. Hoping you'll make more like this.
Are you in the US?
@@paulboden7850 Thank you, that means a lot. I’m in Denmark 🇩🇰
I'm looking at picking one of these up and this is the best video I've found on RUclips capturing how I'd like to play it. Your skill is impressive. If I wanted to learn to play like this, where would you recommend I start? Was that all standard tuning or did you have open tuning mixed in there? Thanks for any tips you can pass along, love your style.
Oh and how would you say this compares to the 000? I know that one's a bit louder and more versatile but I just love how these sound (at least from the videos I've come across)
Thank you Gino.
There is some open tunings in there as well. It’s not easy for me to recommend how to start, I’m self taught - so I think I should start over if I was actually taking lessons to clean up all my faulty techniques, haha - but I did spend a lot of time focusing on playing melodies instead of only chords, and I’ve always liked open tunings that makes it ‘easier’ to sound pretty. So perhaps start with DADGAD. The 000-15 won my heart - bigger sound, more low end which is personally find pleasing when being your ‘own’ orchestra. Hope that makes sense.
Yes! Really beautiful tunes. Are they your own? Fantastic.
Yeah the tunes are some of my own. And thank you very much you Anna, appreciated it a lot.
Sweet playing -- you know to make the most of a smaller-body guitar. Dreadnoughts are dandy, but a OO is a good friend to keep around.
Thank you for your kind words David
I've been debating on whether to get the 00 or 000. I've been listening to a lot of demos. Great picking.
Thank you.
A buddy of mine has got the the 000-15. The differences are there. But I picked the 00 body, since it didn’t sound lesser than the 000. The bigger one sounds a bit more ‘full’ - but In my experience I found it sounding a bit too overwhelming. And the smaller 00 definitely doesn’t lack low end response in my experience. When ever it gets possible (hopefully soon) I’d suggest you try them side by side.
Oh that focused mahogany sound
Beautiful playing; especially the first thing you play. I’m considering selling my bass and amp to get one of these. Can’t decide between which I prefer, though: the 00 or 000.
Thanks Dan, I appreciate it man. I’d go for the 000. Video of that one is coming soon. You’ll get more versatility with the bigger body.
@@ChrisEffort thanks for the advice! Very excited to see your 000 video!
Full range of overtones !
That first song is my favorite... probli listened to in a hundred times... wish you could do a lesson
That is incredibly kind of you. Thank you
As I’ve stated, I love your playing.
Have you tried the Martin MM12 nickel strings? Retro Acoustic.
They are awesome on the 000-15M.
Thank you Tom!
Oh yes I have, I love those strings. And they are very fairly priced.
In fact, I only use Retros or the Martin treated strings on my Mahogany Martin’s.
Sounds great.
I am trying to decide between this or a Guild M-20.
Thanks Scott
I’ve never tried a M-20, but I have heard they have a tendency of sounding a little more boxy compared to the 00-15. But again, your mileage may vary - if you have the opportunity to try first, that’d be awesome.
Absolutely beuatiful, love your tunes! Which strings do you use?
Greetings from Hamburg!
Thanks so much sir, appreciate your kind words. I use Martin MA540T’s 12s or Martin Retro’s also 12s
Love the sound of guitar, convinced on buying a 0015m martin
Did you? I'm sure thinking about it, too ...
Man that sounds great ✌💜
Thank you so much man 🙏🫶
Awesome playing! Love this! What tuning? Sub’d
Awesome tunes!
Didn't you used to have the tuning posted?🤔
Thank you Jeffery! Nope, but I have mentioned it in the comment section a few times. It’s EAC#EBE, it’s a beautiful tuning. Have fun with it :-) And merry Christmas
I've been saving up to buy one for the past six months and I hope I can afford one before the end of the year.
Hi Jan
Oh I know how it feels to wait, but it's so rewarding when you finally get what you really want.
00 = Soul | 000 = Volume
Deciding between a 00-15 and a 00-18 - but these full mahagonys are always sending my brain into neverland ...
I literally ordered a 00-15m today. Judging by the sound of this video I think I made the right decision.
I already have a J-45 and a D-28. I figured this would be the perfect next step to take and complete my collection of acoustics. 😬
Yeah absolutely! It’s a super awesome guitar. And what a great collection you have.
Awesome instrument. I wonder what you thought of the 000-18. I find it hard to chose over the 15.
I would love to try a 000-18 again, it’s been many years since the last time I played one.
G’day Chris
Hopefully this gets to you! Do you prefer this or the 000-15m? The 00-15 is out of stock everywhere and I can’t play it first. I originally was looking for a smaller guitar, but there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the two in size (significant anyway)
So I would have to overpay and blind but if it was the 00-15!
What's the tunning for that guitar? First song. Beautiful.
which strings did you use? Fantastic playing!
Lovely sound, I wish I haven't bought my gibson lg-0 for it doesn't have such an open tone.. what tuning is the first clip?
Vhego Thank you sir.
Oh I can’t remember, I was just messing around. But try tuning your d string a half step down, and your g string down to e. Might be that one:)
@@ChrisEffort thank you!!
I was literally about to buy a 000 and then I found this video and now I'm riddled with doubt. Damn you.
Haha oh do I know the struggle. Have you tried the 000-15SM? that’s my personal 15 series favorite
@@ChrisEffort Haha, the 00 arrived in the mail today. It's epic!
My dad keeps saying mahogany guitars sound horrible, and that "You need a spruce top!"
Well I got to try Martin 000-15, and from the first second I saw it, I couldn't stop smiling.
That was the best sounding guitar I've ever played, it fit me perfectly and it smelled really nice too.
It was perfect. I love Martin guitars!!!
Lol
You only need whatever resonates with you. Spruce? Mahogany? Doesn’t really matter as long as you vibe with it.
I think you are absolutely right. Love my Martin 000-15 (video coming up soon). Best acoustic I ever had. It’s smells sooo great! Can’t deny that. Did you buy the 000-15?
@@ChrisEffort I'm saving up..... or just selling a kidney right now.
@@ChrisEffort Also, awesome job!!!! I saw your spotify, but I'm sad that there's only one song.
Nice playing! Where can I get the TAB? Is it possible? From Japan.
Awesome, cant wait for mine to arrive. Have you noticed the guitar change any in tone since you got it. I.e., has it opened up any?
Hi Matt
Thanks man! Oh yes, it has opened a whole lot since I got it. And actually in between plays the guitar need a little time to open up too. I kinda like that - it needs to warm up (not long) but there’s definitely a difference between the sound when you pick up the guitar, and 10 minutes after.
@@ChrisEffort good to know. Can’t wait to try some sow fingerstyle tunes on mine when it arrives.
Is this standard tuning? Sounds awesome
