That’s what I have. Small, not too loud, beautiful sound, wonderful smell and you can play it for hours while lying in bed. I couldn’t do that with a dreadnaught. I love this little beauty! ❤
Not too loud! Ow my ears!!! Uh uh waaa
@@DS-nw4eq : Apparently you need more context. I write music during the night. Preferably in bed. So after I bought a D-28 I immediately ordered this guitar, so I had something that was comfortable to play and wouldn’t wake up the neighbors when playing. I happen to like my neighbors.
Maybe it pleases you to know that I used to play electric guitars (still do) using 2 cranked up AC30’s and a Marshall TSL100 head plus cabinet turned up to 8,5.
Am I cool now?
Anyway, I purposely bought this guitar because it’s comfortable and not too loud. And I’ll never sell it.
Same here, but I have the AMI version due to the price lol. Still sounds exactly as described in this video. I love it! Just wish I had Coopers playing skills to enjoy it to the fullest. 😅
@@Carlosdanielworship : Don’t tell anyone, but I don’t have Cooper’s skills either. 🤫😅

Does your mommy know you’re online?
I love this series because you get the warmth you expect from mahogany without sacrificing any clarity.
00 15... one in our house. A lovely sound and what a smell...!! Beautiful.
I got my 00-15m 3years ago and it is the love of life.
Nice review! I picked up a 00-15m thinking it was a 000-15m. I had owned a 000 years ago and was one guitar I regretted letting go. My immediate impression of the 00-15m was how fun it was to play. The warmth in tone combined with the dimensions makes it hard to put down. After 30 minutes of pure joy, I had to buy it. I wasn’t planning on getting another guitar that day, but I had to have this one. It wasn’t until I got to the checkout I realized it was the 00 and not the 000. I’ve now owned it over a year and it’s my number one go-to guitar for fingerpicking and especially blues. I keep it turned a half-step down and it has the my favorite overall tone of all my guitars, including those much more expensive with more bling. Note: I’m also 6’0 with somewhat large hands and the size feels great. Perfect lap/sitting guitar.
Thanks for featuring this model. It's a great guitar! ❤
I own 14 Martins (in all price ranges) and have always loved my 00-15. One of Martin's best and one of my favorites. Thanks Cooper!
Nice guitar and as usually great demos that capture the playing feel and tonal quality. Thanks!
Sounds Incredible! Great playing....love your channel
I always appreciate the demos. It feels like it's the right amount of playing to show what the guitar can do while getting to the point. Some channels feels like they are more about showing off their playing than the actual guitar. That being said, Cooper is an absolutely amazing player so I should perhaps petition for longer playing by him hah
I am thinking of getting a Martin and your video has certainly pointed me to the right direction. Thank you!
THANK YOU, always love your video demos! Sincere opinion. I shared and liked it, glad to support your work.
I have this guitar with the LR Baggs SL system and it is wonderful... This guitar sounds incredible in the studio and live... It is so light and comfortable on the fretboard that I think it is missing nothing... If a luthier checks it the guitar is perfect...
I’ve had a Yamaha G700 for 15 years. This has been my dream guitar and I think it’s time to get it. Everything that you have touched on is exactly why I’ve always loved this guitar. Subscribed 👌👊
Great demo thanks
As the proud owner of a 000-15sm, I wish I could afford both.
Favorite guitar for learning songs and playing on the couch
Your playing just keeps getting better. Lovely tone.
These are great guitars. I have a 0015M custom. 14 fret but 1-3/4 but and tortoise shell binding. I also own a 00015sm.
Folks say there isn’t much difference in sound but after having both for 8 years I disagree. I love each one and their different sound and feel. If you are a finger picker it’s hard to go wrong with either.
Thank you Cooper. Excellent playing.
Cool review, congrats !
Really beautiful playing. Says it all.
Love the look!
I have an 0-16 for my couch guitar and I love it. Smaller can be better.
Your room will always smell nice with this guitar
Love the shirt!
Cooper, your demos are always special, especially when you're playing any Martin 15 series guitar. I have a 000-15SM. However, the 00 is kindling my GAS. Thank you.
Man Cooper played that guitar nicely. I don't know if that was improv but that was some nice switches in combination with the targeting. Really nicely played and a pleasure to listen to.
Always excellent playing Cooper! 👍🏻🤠👍🏻 I wish Martin made the all mahogany 00/000 in a scale shorter than 25.4”. The Dreadnought Jr Streetmaster is 24” and has a 1 3/4” nut to boot. Very happy with mine!
I have the 00015-SM and it’s magical. Very unique amongst my Martin guitars
Yep, I 👌🏼love👌🏼 my 000-15SM. It’s a beauty and so much fun to play.
Spot on review!
Got the OOO brother.. these all hog rigs are simply incredible... Rich and warm. My poor Gibson been sitting in the case since I got mine 3 weeks ago.
Loving it!
Very sweet playing, man.
I like the sound and always your playing 7:27
Had this gtr for 4 years its a wonderful guitar
Beautiful ❤
Goodness, Cooper is such a fire player. Nice guitar too!
You're a great player, man. I've got the 00015M. Also a 00028, and a Taylor GTe Urban Ash. ... love parlor guitars. Nice as the 00028 is (it's a superior instrument), the 00015M is the one I always reach for.
I have the 000, but with age I wish I had bought the 00...
Size is important. I have now a parlor. Sounds great! Thanks Cooper for this 00-15m Martin! 🎶🎶🎶
I have one, built in 2020 Its great. Get it if you are considering it.
Love the Pavement shirt, Coop.
I love my 0015 m. It's so comfortable for my stature I can hold it for hours without getting getting any pain on my arm/pec.
I don’t know if it’s the particular melody 🎵 your playing as well but that guitar sounds so sweet ❤
Thanks - great review and enjoyed the demo - I play finger-style quite a bit. I have a lovely S. Yairi I bought in 1978 that is this size and I still use it a lot for recording. I can't speak for this all mahogany Martin (but will see if local agent has one I can try) but I agree with everything said here inasmuch as the smaller (I believe some call it a Parlour?) size guitar is well worth trying and is surprisingly good and 'balanced' for studio work compared to Dreadnought / Concert size instruments that can be a bit 'boomy', unless you're after a BIG open, rhythm strumming vibe or have the physical strength for serious finger-picking (like Leo Kottke, for instance).
Your face was looking at me on your website. "I saw you looking at me, looking at you" 😅
I would LOVE to see a revamp of the 15 series videos! The 000-15SM is beloved in the guitar community. I own one myself, it’s my absolute favorite guitar. I haven’t seen it played or recorded as well as you have with this 00-15m. It would be an honor to not only hear you play it but what your thoughts are on the bracing, value, and what to expect as these guitars age. If you’re reading this, I believe these to be some of the best value in all wood guitars and I’ve played a lot of nice guitars. Something to think about ;)
I had one about 5 years ago but had to sell it unfortunately. Earlier this year I got my dream guitar, a ceo-7 and I do love it,but I still think about this all mahogany beauty quite often.
You are so right they are wonderful guitars the mahogany series. I own one of the first series and never ever regret I bought it. Love it Rick
My 2016 00-15 retro is really starting to open up!
Awesome 😎
Love to see a comparison video between the 00-15, 000-15 and throw in the 000-16 for good measure
You can never go wrong with a single 0 or 00 Martin in Mahogany. In about 10 years - the guitar will sound superb.
Or 000...
I have a 00-15m deep body with variegated ebony fretboard and bridge. Love it! I liked it better than my Taylor Mahogany. For 000, 000-16 streetmaster.. thanks Cooper!
I also have that version- from Empire music. Replaced the 000-15m I sold. I think it sounds (from my memory) basically the same as that one- maybe a bit less "big" but as deep and lush- if that makes sense.
@benyogli yes, Empire's 20th Anniversary model.
outstanding
Hi Cooper! I'd LOVE to see a comparison between the 0-15m, 00-15m and 000-15m including the 12 fret series. That would be awesome!!! HUGE fan of the channel and both of you and Chris' work! Love from the UK, Rich.
love my 000-15M. got a really good deal on it. parents bought it for their kid to take lessons on, and they returned it. the action was crazy high. don't think it was ever set up. brilliant guitar. thought my Taylor was easy to play up the neck, but the Martin is actually better. whatever brand get a luthier to look at your guitar.
I own and love its sibling 000-15SM haha... 000-15SM is amazing
Bro, you’d make a stringed broomstick sound amazing! Keep it up!
🕊️❤️🕊️
Have a HD28 and this is next on my list. Would be a great contrast in terms of tonewood and body shape.
I would own one ! Sweet guitars 👋
Hello,
I am a new subscriber. ❤
You mentioned the Guild as well. What are your thoughts between the two? Lots of similarities but curious about your thoughts? Thanks!
Love my Yamaha FS5.
Is there a video that shows the size differences between all the 15 series Martin guitars?? Be nice to see how big/small each is compared to the others...
would love to see all small mahogany across brands
How does this compare to the Guild M-20 ? Just wondered.... Is it pretty similar in sound ? Maybe do a comparison of both the Guild M-20 and the Martin 00-15 .🎸🎸🎸🎸
Nice. Hey, what model mic did you use to record this?
Groovy
Of the two, Guild M20 or this Martin, which one you you choose?
Cooper, what song / riff do you start playing at 6:00 through the end of the demo with a pick? You've played this on numerous demos - would love to learn this if I can! Thanks.
Cooper I am shopping for a small mahogany guitar. I am a beginner and I just plan on playing at home for my own personal enjoyment. I am looking at the
Taylor AD22e
Martin 00-15M
Guild M20
Are all three of these basically the same size? The guild looks very small in comparison.
I have my dad's 1954 and it still has the original ivory tuners and ebony bridge. My goal is to learn how to at least play a few basic tunes. I think they called it the Manhattan back in the day...
How would the 00-15m do with bluegrass flat picking? Same scale length as a D-28. Would it not cut through the other instruments like a spruce top will?
I'd rather choose the 00 model since I prefer that small body for a casual everyday use. Also I prefer that 1 11/16 nut size. But I also like the vintage look of the 00015 streetmaster model. So I'm on the fence a little bit.
Is this size comparable to the grand concert size
Are medium gauge strings ok on this particular model or are the light gauge strongly recommended? Is it too much tension to use the mediums or ?
What strings they come with from the factory? Lifespan 2.0 or Retro?
Lovely playing as always!
Lifespan 2.0
I am asking myself, why the warm mahagony tone is described as vintage, when in the 60s loads of great warm recordings exist, done with spruce top guitars. Guitar reviews today almost all sound stringy and far from vintage, but does that really have something to do with the guitar?
Always enjoy Coop's laidback presenting. Usually enjoy Coop's lightning fingers. I thought here the fingerstyle playing was a bit more about his own speed than about the tone of the guitar though. The flatpicking section and thereon was more of a showcase of the tone. I think there should probably have been more, as it didn't really demonstrate too much.
If I buy a Martin would it be a start of a Martin addiction? Don't own one, but played a 0-18 last week and my head won't let it go....
Or for $330 get an Ibanez AC340 with solid okoume top ....it sounds better than the mahogany tops...it's warmner. Good action to boot for finger pickers...and a 1.75" nut...my fat sausage fingers love it. That said if you are heavy handed on the strings you might need to raise the saddle. Stock it's LOW action...does come with a spacer to put under the saddle if need be. I've never seen a Martin leave the factory with a low action...never seen a factory acoustic come with a lower action than the Ibanez AC340...it's a different kind of guitar.
Would the taylor gs mini be close in size to the 0-15m, 00-15m, or 000-15m?
Neither. It’s not in the same league as any of those Martins.
@@MrFrampo56 I'm talking about size. Not performance.
@@ulyssestinoco3719 0015 then.
I have the same T-shirt, but after only 11 months the writing has faded. I denounce that. Otherwise, another very good video!
Honestly, I have played many of the 15's and 15m's and was not impressed, they all sound o.k. but every one of them I tried out (4) needed a major set up. Also, the action (after the set up) on all those 15's and 15m's I tried out were still way too high to be enjoyable. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.
Guild M-20 compared to 00-15M?
Very nice sound, but I'll stick with my GIbson L-00 for a parlor guitar.
Great, Work on your playing though.
Taylor ad21e for me.
Wild guess…, do you by any chance own a Taylor AD21e? 😊
😂
OO 18M or OO 18
The 000 is an instrument with more fame, more frequently used by artists, but highly overrated. The 00 has a much more defined, perfect chord; the 3 low strings integrate with the 3 high strings. In the 000, the high strings keep ringing, hissing. The chord doesn't close. If you're going to play a basic accompaniment on the 000, the chord keeps squeaking all the time, even when you change the chord. About the 00, it has a boxy sound, and I also disagree; it has excellent lows, and with the right touch, it has a much cleaner and more beautiful sound than the 000.
it’s a great $600 guitar
£1,599 new in UK.
@@alancandy6080 hard to fancy that valuation
Enlighten us as to which $600 guitar is it's equal
Everybody knows you can play, but that's a quality t shirt
It's not very crispy. A little mellow. But nice. Though I love a little sparkle and twang.
Unfortunately, Martins are rarely a good value. I went with a Yamaha which in almost always a good value no matter what instrument you play.
Which Yamaha is similar to this?
Great for couch potato noodles...
John Frusciante
I've been saying this to women all my life.
Super review from a player's perspective. Thank you.
I bought one of these recently, and after a personal set-up, then getting used to the size, neck, etc, I have grown to like the 00-15 M very much indeed. I cannot recommend them highly enough for the tone, versatility and small-bodied intimacy.
I always wanted a "little" Martin and this is it, that's after a lifetime of boomy dreads and jumbos thinking size and volume matters. Well, it doesn't. In the history of guitar making, the 00-15 would never have been considered small anyway.
There's little this little fella cannot do and it does it with great style, with American made, Martin Nazareth quality all the way.
I strongly recommend buying one, you'll play it for life while the others sleep in their cases.
Have you experimented with different strings on yours? I have been using the martin retros on mine, but considering switching tones up
@@davechen1426 In the short period I've had the 0015M I've changed the strings only once to D'addario XS Phosphor Bronze 12's (Light Gauge).
I've found these work superbly for the cross-picking/strumming hybrid style I play, giving a nice feel, clarity and sustain. I've tried the Retro's on other guitars and I like them, but only on specific guitars. They do seem to work well with mahogany, also composite and layered back and side guitars.
For the 0015 M I probably won't experiment with other strings as I usually do with other guitars because the XS PB 12 strings match the guitar so well.
How do you like your 0015M?
