    I was born into a mormon family in the heart of mormonism, I learned from birth to participate in the teaching and believe my worldview as the standard of truth going eventually to everyone, I genuinely felt I had been born into something special. my world crashed down when I found the primary sources and reality of how my church began along with many date setter belief systems based on denying the reliability of the scriptures.
    True things need to be valued more than our presuppositions and tradition, I'm so glad I started learning the bible and branching out to what is true rather than what is taught and repeated.
    Thank you for this content, it's well thought out and engaging, I feel like a terrorist still living in the middle of utah completely surrounded, but not unarmed, my heart and the truth of the identity of jesus is threatening to mormons that believe in their own divinity and deny jesus of his unique attributes, please pray for me and them, and Thank you so much for valuing truth.

    “Why should we turn to someone other than historians or scientists, the experts in their related fields of research, for answers related to history or science? Apologists are just there to take advantage of you, telling you what you want to hear when the evidence tells you otherwise. The sheer existence of apologists is reason alone to raise suspicion. Their dishonesty is blatant when you simply double check what they say. In the end, historians and scientists are not just one big conspiracy against Jesus, the Bible is simply wrong about most things.”
    -Joseph R. Hanson

  • @manager0175

    Duggie seems to forget a very serious problem with Calvinism. According to Calvinism, God has chosen His "elect" to be saved from the foundation of the world, the number of the "elect" is fixed, cannot be added to nor diminished. And of course, the rest are condemned. If this is true, it is a NECESASRY (deductive) CONCLUSION that ALL Christian activity is meaningless and valueless. This includes his theonomy and "Christian nationalism". Since it has no bearing upon who gets saved, and who does not. We can do good Christian works 24/7 or do nothing at all, and the result is the same. No amount if Christian activity (nor inactivity) will change the outcome. The "elect" will be saved, everyone else is condemned.

    Your point about personal morality having a relation to their argument doesn’t hold water when you consider all of the Protestant theologians that were scum in their personal life.
    Rushdoony, Barth, etc
    Compare this with Eastern Orthodox theologians. You’re not considered a theologian unless you’re living a holy life in communion with God.

    • @owenedwards3626
      @owenedwards3626 5 лет назад

      There is a fairly obvious formal distinction between affirming something and not doing it, and affirming something and then doing it. Rushdoony and Barth were hypocrites; Sartre lived what he taught, more or less. The problem Wilson points to is that what this demonstrates is that Sartre has a vested interest in denying a God who would damn Sartre's teaching and life.

    • @smgale7689
      @smgale7689 5 лет назад +1

      @@owenedwards3626 Right. And Sartre and others are interested in not affirming something because they don't want to do it. Also, to the original poster - I'm not sure it's at all clear that Rushdoony was scum. The record there is very confused as to whether or not he was a negligent husband or his wife was markedly erratic.

    • @TheChachilover96
