This is the best "amateur" drumming video I've seen by far. Excellent mixing on the sound. Video editing is superb and I especially love the different camera angles. Nice work. This Knack lover and drummer thanks you.
I've seen some other drum vids of this song and in this one the drums seem less busy while still getting the job done. I like it and I will incorporate some of these simpler beats into my interpretation of this song. Thanks.
People back then wrote the Knack off as a scam, a Beatles ripoff, whatever, a one-hit wonder. They weren't appreciated back then except by power pop fans that knew about it. Bruce's drum kit was never a Neil Peart monster, he didn't play that way, the music didn't call for it, but he was the master of those fills and crisp tom action, playing fast when it called for it, and dynamics. There's a tiny bit of Keith Moon in there, but only a bit. He was much more tight and restrained than Keith of course. I compare him a bit to Blondie's Clem Burke. There's no need for 15 floor/smaller toms..they can do it with three!
