Congrats on your Tony. I was in the musical "Once Upon A Mattress." Our costume designer made the queens dress so elegant, and spent sooo much time on it. It was Definately fit for a queen. 👑
The costume design was ok , not anything special. The hair and wig design was absolutely horrid and ruined the show for me almost. Definitely ruined Elle.
Aria Couret how is she a pain? She has to be able to move in the outfits. If you’ve seen the musical, Elle moves ALOT! She has to be comfortable especially in that marionette outfit.

the original movie was filmed in and takes place in 2001, so they probably wanted to keep that style to keep the movie fans happy.
