- Hello RUclipsrs! It was not until recently that I forgot I had this footage. Thank you for the reminder Yamsquad!
At the time of doing this fixture with Leander Club against Cambridge University I was told not to publish the footage. Now that enough time has passed the footage is ok to post. I hope you enjoy being on the water with us! The plan was to do some 2 minute pieces against each other but we only managed one. This was right before the 2018 Cambridge university vs oxford university boat race, so it was good to race the guys at their peak, including James Cracknell.
Watching the footage back it makes me want to get on the water even more. I think potentially I will look back over some of my favourite clips on the water and post them as I think we could all use some on the water rowing footage to help remind of us what we love about rowing!

that fish eye effect makes it look like you fellas were rowing a big banana - how you kept it in a straight line is an amazing trick

Whoa. Leander was looking spicy but that Cambridge boat in the background had just next level technique. Good to see such a close view. Can really tell why they dominated the Boat Race that year

Working my way through the massive vlog back catalogue it was great to see this - impressive boat speed - despite my mediocre skills & fitness levels, it would be fantastic to get a few outings with such a top crew as a once in a lifetime experience.

Amazing looking at the lack of rolling in the boat compared to any I've ever rowed in! Great angle to see hand heights! Also memories flood back of when I rowed for London Transport on the Tideway in the mid eighties. We rowed from the ARA boat house Lower Mall Hammersmith!

Apologies in advance as I am new to rowing and your channel, but I have to ask, and Google hasn't been friendly: What is this Yam? It sounds good, sometimes I think I "have" it, but I may not. I am unsure if it is an adjective, noun, verb, or all of the above. The only thing that I can ascertain is that this Yam is a good thing whether it be to have, be, or doing. So if you wouldn't mind, do I have it, the Yam? -Chris

Why do your uni's have high vis sleeves? I've seen brookes and a few other Uk crews do it but i don't know what it means.
