Congratulations on making the team! I also see you medaled at the Swift British Rowing Beach Sprint Championships. Again, congrats! You were the tallest by far and Yam the biggest (only) dog. Great stuff!
Congratulations! I loved this episode - I always get a positive energy from your rowing and racing, and I learned a lot too. Your explanation of the difference in the mental approach to racing in a 2x compared to 1x one that I never heard (or didn't hear clearly enough that it made an impression on me). I'll try to incorporate this approach to rowing a 2x when I next have a chance to do that. The other point that was new to me was that the boats (1x, 2x, 4x) are more different in coastal boats vs flat water boats: I recently had my first try at racing a coastal boat (4x) and hope to do more. Learning is a key to motivation! Thank you again.
First finishing your workout before watching the announcement, that’s dedication :) great to see your hard work payed off. Hope you have a great journey to Worlds!
Excellent results & achievement Cam (okay, BR slightly took the edge off by announcing on their email earlier) but great to see all that you’ve worked through and achieved these last few years since going from sweep to sculling is paying off. Were you surprised to be in the 4x+ over the 2x based on the trials results or is that canny coaching by mixing the experienced with those new to the format like yourself? The big plus has got to be being coxed for those turns 😂 Video format although different was top quality as usual - definitely a case of variation 😎
Yes as I said wasn’t allowed to say anything until they did. Been waiting for a couple of weeks to post the video! The trials were purely for the quad so no surprise there. For sure does take a few options out racing quad vs other boats!
Congratulations Cam… I hope you enjoyed my neck of the woods? Did you get to row further up the Tees, or stay closer to the club? My sister said she had seen people rowing on the beach! 🏖️ 🚣🏼♀️
Unfortunately just the 500 or so around the club and then down by Redcar not too much adventuring done. Enjoyed it and had some decent weather which is always nice
Congrats, cam! Hard work paying off :) Good luck in the training, I'm excited to see how coastal training compares to flatwater and of course some sick beach sprinting!
Well done Cameron! Nice bounce back after Henley. You literally had your back to the wall on the erg warmup. Chapeau! Looking forward to more. BTW, I prefer the previous vlog format, but variation is good, right?
Hey Cameron, what do think of this decision: “World Rowing has formally agreed to a request from Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games organisers to stage competition on what will be the shortest course in Olympic history, over 1,500 metres - 500m less than the standard length”
It’s not a new decision so not a surprise. They can’t hold a 2k race in that location due to the bridge. Lots of rumours as to why it can’t be elsewhere but I’ve never heard the true reason.
What are the differences in how you row technically in a coastal boat vs the standard racing shell? Curious as coastal rowing wasn't really a thing when I was a junior rower and it looks like a lot of fun...well...type two fun. Is it like using the erg with a heavy drag setting or do you need to skull differently in some fundamental way?
How did you like the Crocker Oars as compared to the Concept 2? We use them extensively here in Australia (locally made) however I do think they are a better oar then the C2's?
@@TheSJCieply ah I understand. The boats themselves are very distinctive and pretty easy to find online with a quick google search. The boats in this video are made by Swift
"We love you Cameron Buchan" we all say in unison.
Great news, Cam, congratulations. I wish GB Rowing hadn't dragged out the process of informing you, though, looked torturous.
Ended up being some injuries and illness behind the scene that we weren’t aware of initially!
Congratulation Cam, well deserved 👋👋👋. All the best over the next few weeks in the build up to Italy 💪💪.
Thanks Tom!!
Well done Cam. I’m rooting for your success at Worlds!! Go Yam!!
Thank you!!!
Your next video is your 1000th! You should do a video to celebrate!
British Rowing preempted
Can see in the video why
A well deserved result, you've worked hard. Congratulations.
Congrats Cam. Can't wait for the WCs!
Well done, mate. Onwards and upwards.

Youve come a LONG way from the sweeper that could barely balance skulling. A lot of exciting things in your life the past few years!

We love you Cameron Buchan
Really interesting video, i think coastal rowing could become a bigger thing!
I think the potential is there!

Congrats big man!
Congratulations Cam!
Looking forward to it.
But this is rowing, so... looking backward to it?
Congratulations Cam. Despite not winning the side by sides it’s great that they recognise how you make others row better. 🎉
Awesome, fantastic news! Well done! 🎉
Well done, your persistence has been inspirational 🎉
Well done cam that must’ve been a hard workout w the anticipation 😀
Congratulations Cam. Your whole attitude to training, learning and development is exceptional!!
Well done on the selection
Ps: Congratulations on your selection
Congratulations 👏🎉 see you there 🤘
Let’s gooooo

Amazing Cam!! Keep working hard and show them in Italy!
Yasssss, so excited to watch you race 🤩
Congratulations on making the team and see that all your hard work is (finally) paying off!
Congratulations! You are certainly deserving of making the team to head to the Worlds! Way to go!
congrads on going to ITALY work on a good tan while your there
Congrats on making the squad! Looking forward to seeing more footage of the process!!
Well done Cam!
Huge congratulations!!! A fresh GB vest awaits!
Fantastic making the team 🎉 loving the mixed content (ignore the coastal naysayers!) you genuinely seem to be enjoying your coastal rowing :)
Nice work, Yam squad man!

awesome video! congrat!
So when are you going to take on the Atlantic challenge?
You post all the software and camera equipment, but why not the boating equipment? What do you use for that?
What do you mean? You don’t see the cameras but you can see what equipment I use in pretty much every single video
@@CameronBuchan I can see them, but I don't know what they are. Not all of them have clear logos. Like what boats are they?

Sunglasses brand?
Sungod 💪
Doesn't asking rowers to sprint hard carry a high risk of injury?
Probably but it’s part of the sport so if you’re getting injured sprinting probably not ideal for racing
Yes!!!!!!!

Tees rowing club?
Yes indeed!
Comment for the algorithm

appears that you use much more upper body then any legs, legs seem to hardly move really
It is less than full slide as it is a full on sprint but certainly a lot of legs happening
Great - worth all the work
When do we get a video from Italy?
Today
Cam come on @rowingcast please
