- Episode 208. This is a 10 year old Single Malt Scotch, matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is bottled exclusively for Canada. A light Scotch, I find it rich with red fruit or berry notes and a gentle orange citrus. I enjoy this release. Have you tried this or the GlenDronach 12 year? #whiskyfabric#whiskytube#whiskyneighbour

Thanks for the review, Neighbor Jon! Was really expecting to be left wanting, but good to know about the 12! We're truly blessed with a LOT of great whiskey!!! Cheers!
I had high hopes for this too. It's good, but in the end not great.
And a hello from further up the Ottawa Valley in Pembroke. :). Love the GlenDronach. :)
Cool! Thanks for dropping in and I'm glad you enjoy GD too.
I have had the 12 and enjoyed it... I haven't seen the 10, but I haven't been looking much lately. I have enough whisky that I can open three bottles a week for the next four or five months, so there's no rush to go out and buy great quantities now. If I see the 10 I might pick it up...
I am in a similar place. It's why I only buy bottles on sale. I am not in a rush
I think you've nudged me into picking up the GD12. Been waffling about it for a while. Now, if I can just find one of those legendary 2013 releases...life would be good! ;-)
GD 12 is an excellent whisky, often for a good price. If you can find a 2013 release that would be epic! Thanks for dropping in. Cheers!
Great review as usual. Hello from Ottawa!
Thanks! And Hello back! I think the LCBO has a fair amount of GD12 still, so no hardship there yet.
Enjoyed the review Jon 👍 Not tried the 12 y/o but it's on my ever growing list!
GlenDronach 12 should be on everyone's journey. Not the best, but a great, full sherried dram that is usually affordable. Cheers!
Thanks for the sample. It is a nice dram. I would buy this. I am not typically a Scotch guy.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Great I have the 12 but not the 10 great review WN thank you
The 12 is a great bottle for me. Lots of rich flavours
I saw it at Wine and Beyond but I went after the Glenlivet 18yr, the price was just to good to pass up. It does look like a good one though, love Glendronach. Thanks Jon, cheers!
Almost grabbed that too, but bought a couple of lesser bottles instead. This is good, and I am glad I picked it up. Cheers indeed!
We can get 10 year old GlenDronach at Total Wine and more, but the port wood finish, not the one you have. The 12 year old is always in stock. It is on my list to try but have not had the chance yet. The Redbreast 12 yr and Glenlivet 12 year are next on my list.
Great list! I hope you enjoy both when you get to them. I might prefer Redbreast but it would depend on my mood a bit. Cheers!
Which one is wealthy to buy?
01.Glenfiddich perpetual collction vat 01 - 66.5$
02.Glenmorangie 10 - 60$
03.Glenlivet Tripple cast Matured distillers resrves - 67$
04.The GlenDronach Forgue Aged 10 years - 69.5$
05.Benriach Quarter Cask - 61$
Interesting list. I would probably buy the BenRiach, then GlenDronach
@@WhiskyNeighbour Thank you..
Hey, what was the price before the $20 off? I just grabbed a bottle today, along with the Deanston VO, and planning to scoop up the Arran Port Cask Finish tomorrow.
$85 at Wine and Beyond
Nice. Was it in their flyer? Prices for this guy are all over the place in Calgary, with $40 differences.
@@LongCity it was in their flyer for that weekend. It is not in the Thanksgiving flyer.
I just opened a bottle of this and it gave me some weirdness. Like earth, tomatoes and something meaty.......not a fan....and I have a 21 year on order locally.....did I mess up?
Well, we all taste drams a little differently. I could get close to bbq meat, but not strong for me. The 21 is incredible, and far richer than this 10. Still, same house. You might want to hunt down a 12 or even the 15 before dropping the coin for the 21. Just my opinion.
@@WhiskyNeighbour Thanks for your comments. I think I was a victim of the initial first dram neck pour effect because after I left the original comment I decided to have another dram and it was night and day difference. I've experienced that a few times before but not to this degree. The second go was a huge improvement and definitely made me want to come back to it. Cheers.
@@Watchman999 Good to hear. Odd it was so strong, but perhaps now you can enjoy it more and look forward the the 21!
@@WhiskyNeighbour Fast forward one year. I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle and got another one to replace it part way through the year when it was on sale ($70ish CAD). I'm a real fan of this bottle after the initial weirdness....and....(whispering)....it's on at Craft Cellars for $57 this week. I bought another bottle. At that price it is a steal.....even at 43%.
@@Watchman999 Sounds like time was a friend with this one. I enjoyed it too, but not enough to replace at the prices I see. Thanks for following up
