The rear window on the park, lane sloped forward rather than the backward slope on this image that Sarah provided. But yes, the back window opened up and they were very cool. My fifth grade teacher had one.
I recognized the car immediately as a Nash Rambler. They were a common sight when I was a kid. I researched a bit and the wide parallel chrome trim on the back door to the narrower rear window chrome in addition to the chrome all around the rear door plus the chrome running along the body line matches some 1951-1953 Nash Ramblers exactly. By the way, as usual, excellent story telling. I have been enjoying your videos for 5 years running!

About 8:31 in the video, there is a bush on your left about 3 foot tall with yellow flowers and about 9 flying insects feeding on the flowers with shiny black bodies and bright orange wings. Ha!!! Traffic jam of the dead! Glad you’re getting new shocks. It would not be fun to do off-roading with bad suspension. Thanks for the smiles, Sarah❣️
Rather than having been swept there in a flash flood the car bodies were probably placed there as "rip rap" to prevent erosion. "Rip rap" is something that is placed on an area subject to reosion that will stop or slow the process. On earthen filled dams it is often large gravel or rocks. In stream beds it is often old car bodies. The dirt and gravel that has washed in and mostly filled the car bodies is evidence that it is working. The water is depositing sediment rather than washing it away.
The story of the guy looking for nookie after pay day is wonderful. The guys name is Jeff, and he was driving a 56 Hudson. He liked the Hudson brand because they did so well in NASCAR racing. (Ok, I too have an imagination. The rear window line resembles Nash and Hudson more than most) Keep up the wonderful stories.

Jimmy Hoffa's car may be a 1964 Mercury or a 1960 Lincoln. Both of those had rear windows angled in like that.
