Until a few days ago, I didn't know they existed, and now I've seen a total of two in the same shape. I don't know if it really implies anything about the screen, but at least in the Gameboy market, you can't shake a stick without hitting a Gameboy with a bad polarizer and a couple of dead lines. It's just the technology of the time. With the Pasogo's screen being so much larger, I think it stands to reason there's just more to fail.
@@gaijinunboxing James Channel released a video repairing one of these just a few days ago. Chances are, most people who end up watching this video were recommended it because of his video.
@@sydneys207 The production time of a RUclips video, the average channel without a legion of script-writers and editors on the payroll can't really turn a copied video around in that kind of time. I bet a bunch of these just hit Japan's second hand market at about the same time, they came to the attention of people who fix things as an interesting nugget, and they each made a video. This kind of thing happens with Action Retro scooping Michael MJD by a day or two every time, and we know both of them have usually like a three or four week production time on each video. Things just hit the zeitgeist at about the same time, and it's no surprise when a couple of videos hit RUclips on the same topic in the space of a few days.
Those exact screens are used on industrial machines, I've seen them before and fixed a couple of them too by replacing the polarizer.
Another bigger channel also released a video about this recently. Very cool to see it I would recommend getting a better profil pic btw
Makes me wonder if these things just had terrible screens, or if it's because they're so old now.
