(Excuse the COMPLETE DOUCHEBAG screaming the entire time in the background if you can make him out. Everybody around him was telling him to STFU...this guy was like in his 40's and "that guy" at the concert. Hope you die in fire, guy!)
Wow! She has played with a wide range of great musicians! An incredible talent!
Tal is the real deal on bass......You can see the Mule is digging it.
Not feeling any awkwardness...just a lot of high energy. She's got the style and the spirit. Look at Warren Haynes smile after her solo!

WOW!!! Just found out about her a couple days ago, purely by accident.. Wish I would have known about her 10 years ago.. would have gone to her concerts.. makes me all teary eyed watching her play.. she's so good and is just having so much fun.. She's like a wolf in sheeps clothing :).. My hands down favorite along with Stanley Clarke
She plays on that Jeff Beck DVD Live at Ronnie Scotts. It’s amazing. The sound is so good for that show. And Vinnie is awesome on the drums.

My Goodness!!!.. Tal(my girlfriend) is Absolutely AWESOME!!!!.. Love her demeanor and movement and stage presence.. She is always interacting with the other members and seems to be so happy on stage and having FUN!!! :)

I was in a band briefly in Los Angeles with Mat in 1990. A phenomenal drummer, great guy and by far...thee best drummer I've ever played with.
Not the first time she's traded licks with Warren, and he has Derek and Oteil to thank for that. Those two saw her perform in a NYC club when she was 18, the next year she makes her debut on stage with ABB sitting in on Elizabeth Reed. Sure would like to see video of that performance.
She learned the bass line the day before.

Great video! Were you the guy standing at the front of the stage that basically shot the whole show but had the digital viewfinder on the camera off so it wasn't quite so obvious that you were shooting the entire show?
@MyInnerEyeMike she knows when to hold them and when to run, I couldn't do that on a lead with light strings. I'm impressed

@Darrells15or She is far from god. I agree that she is a very melodic bass player, but she doesn't seem to be too focused on REALLY locking in with the drummer. She still has quite a long way to go before she can be considered one of the great bassist of all time.
Sometimes I think the bands/artists who invite her to play with them, only do so because they want a free on stage "seat" for her performance. I don't think I've seen her play with anyone yet, that wasn't grinning ear to ear by the time they were done.
Tal can play anything. Nobody's making a 'mistake', rather this was her solo, and the drummer, rather than adapting to what she's actually playing, stuck to what he always plays. Great musicians immediately adapt because they see it as a challenge, and anyway it's easy for them, this drummer is good at what he does, it's just he's no Vinnie Colauita that's all. By contrast Tal occasionally deliberately throws in fusion riffs just to make things interesting. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not.

i kinda hate it when Tal goes through the cycle of 5th's and up the whole tone scale during her solo, it just doesn't sound like it fits in. I am entitled to my opinion.

I agree with you. Not to take anything away from her playing (because she can play her ass off) but that cycle of 5th thing....I wasn't feeling it. The rest of the solo was great though.

Drummer was off.. So confused by the bad ass bass lines, drummer kept changing his grooves along the sick jazzy bass lines of Tal. Big mistake drummer. The bass lines were singing.. Amazing..

That’s why you need a jazz drummer in the groove with the bassist when playing fusion. The drummer was not in sync with her at all.

There is an Ampeg amp and cabinet to the left of the Marshall. I would guess that she is playing bass through the Ampeg.

This slide player is not only grossly overweight, but he's TONE DEAF! Duane Allman, the Master of Microtonal Slide, would have been ashamed of any association with him, and Tal has no business bringing her talents anywhere near him. Even on bass she's far more accurate than him. The drummer is dragging as well, she's the only one pushing the rhythm.
grundid 44 - agreed grundid this gal knows her shit!! She's a killer bassist but . . I'm not to sure about her vocals though? Not criticising just find her more a bassist than a vocalist?
She just needs to find really good people to play with and she'll be back on top, cause she sure isn't lacking for talent. If you listen to her work here, it's just EXCELLENT. Reminds me of Jack Bruce with even more dexterity.
