Have been using the "how long do you have to work for it?" question for years now, my friends make fun of me, whenever we go shopping and I say "I'm not going to work three hours for this"
When I see something I want at the store, I like to wait 24 hours and see if I still feel the same way. I find that often times I forget about that item!! I love your content❤️
I wish I did this at 19! Or when I got my first job. Learning all these things now feels a little late. But great video! Great content and editing. You are amazing
Really appreciate your content Ashlynne... These tips are really valuable ! Also...I've been watching some of you previous videos and I must say, you have an incredible place and it's so well kept and minimalist.... Truly inspirational !!
Following Dave Ramsey’s principles and 7 Baby Steps has changed my life! I’m only half way through step 2. I’ve made plans to accomplish the other steps. Having a vision for my finances for once in my life is so exciting and mind blowing!
Wow, nice concise, quick, but thorough plan presentation! Thank you! My minimalism money habit is to be very careful about things I bring into my home. As you said, "Will this add value?" Or Will this add work/need attention I don't have time to give.
Thank you so much for creating this video. At this time so many more people are trying to take a step back trying to modify their budgets and this is going to be of great help!
Although I agree with a lot of these tips, I disagree with automating. If an expense is automatically taken out, people tend think less about the expense and what it means with regard to their finances, both in the long and short term. It may be simplifying, but it really reduces mindfulness.
Yes i agree! That’s why I always like to get my bills in the mail so I’m aware at how much I’m spending, if we are paying more or less than the last month, etc. it’s also great bc that way you’ll find mistakes if they ever made any!
I have a couple of bills that are automated and I get notifications everytime they’re taken out. For bills that change every month (utilities, credit cards, etc) I think it’s better not to automate those. Since I get notifications every time the bill is taken out, it makes me think of ways I can potentially reduce that amount (switching insurance companies, asking about discounts, etc) because I don’t like seeing money taken out of my account.
I have just about everything automated, including my credit card payments. I like to say 'look ma no hands' does not mean 'look ma no eyes'. I keep close watch on all my payments partly because I have a formal accounting system to track everything.
I have no credit cards. No after pay /zip pay etc. I save by buying preloved where possible. Waiting until the bigger purchases can come on sale or ask for a discount. .. We get given gift cards for Christmas and i use them towards things that we really want but that aren't necessary.
All super great tips! I follow Dave Ramsey and have stayed debt free by doing so :) I currently have my three month emergency fund and I’m working on saving 6 months of expenses into an emergency fund. After this pandemic; however, I am hoping to eventually save up a 12 month emergency fund so that I can feel really secure going forward :)
Thank you so much for this video. I'm planning to get a seasonal job and pay off some minor debts and start to save up so I can buy a duplex next year (Lord Willing). Since rent is so much more than mortgage here in FL I plan to live on one side and rent out the other. So I gotta save for some form of down payment as well as invest in appliances for the apt for rent.
Great suggestions. Check "index funds" for simplicity. "Cleanse the mirrors of your hearts from the dross of the world and all that is therein, that they may reflect the resplendent light of God." ~ Abdu’l-Baha, Baha'i Faith
I turned 30 year old. Never I had debt. I always rent living in slums. Not like your suburbian fancy houses, but you can live. I am not living for giving a tour... My rent is €435 a month including internet, water, garbage, cable and many other costs which "owners" are adding up to pay plus their fixes are paid additionally (like new cooker). I just call and they replace it if defective. I honestly do not see myself working my life either. I work from monday to friday, not much in money, but I work and have time to live... and also savings possible.
How about Vanguard index funds??? Follow the Bogleheads three fund portfolio. Great idea for Index funds. You are further ahead of me when I was your age.
Halverson Mike "Hey... y'know what sounds good today? Getting on RUclips and using it as Tinder. Yeah... women love getting asked dating questions on RUclips." I'm her boyfriend dude... move on.
Before covid19 I would have been comfortable with $1000 baby emergency fund. Now I am going to say 2 to 3 months expenses before you start paying more than minimum on debt.

You’re really sweet and nice. Just one constructive criticism, I feel like the b roll is a bit repetitive and a bit awkward at times. It does distract from the overall good video.
Thanks for the feedback! I usually create videos based off of the suggestions I get and this was a pretty requested topic! That being said, I’m all for switching things up! Let me know if there is a topic or something you’d like me to touch on!

I would really really love to see more financial videos like this.
Although I agree with a lot of these tips, I disagree with automating. If an expense is automatically taken out, people tend think less about the expense and what it means with regard to their finances, both in the long and short term. It may be simplifying, but it really reduces mindfulness.

Si son gastos fijos como pago de agua, luz, teléfono, etc. Si considero que es adecuado automatizar, una preocupación menos

Emergency funds should be able to cover 6-12months of our fixed expenses, in the event we lose our jobs
I would like to visit Carolinas 🙂
Excellent content you are amazing lol from a sub 🇮🇱
I think Dave Ramsey says you should invest 15% of your GROSS income not net. But 15% of your take home pay is definitely a start.
You've literally just helped me out so much! 😁 also dont mind me I'm just a small channel looking for supporters 🌸
Before covid19 I would have been comfortable with $1000 baby emergency fund. Now I am going to say 2 to 3 months expenses before you start paying more than minimum on debt.
Makes a lot of sense given the current context 🤍
