They have taken one of the most enjoyable holiday experiences and priced it out of existence mainly due to forcing people to get rid of the type of car needed to pull them. Add the pandemic where caravan sites raised their prices so high it made caravanners to see no point in carrying on. Increased car insurance if you tow a trailer, young drivers needing to take another test to add towing to their licence an so on.. On the plus side.....that's a lot of revenue the Government will lose out on. Tent campers next......oh wait......
Don't forget the quality issues that plagued the industry. I jumped ship 5 years ago after numerous damp issues on 3 new units and one second hand unit. 3 being motorhomes and 1 caravan. After 15 years of touring and 90k spent I walked away with 7k and a bitter taste in my mouth.
It's a shame, but with prices for everything going up, people just can't afford to keep a caravan, with all the costs associated with that, then pay for the increasing site fees (rising due to electricity bills and wages) as well as fuel costs - all the while trying to do this from a wage packet that isn't keeping up with the cost of living. SO they sell the caravan, for less than they would like, the dealers can't sell them on, don't make any money, and they close... 😢
@@PaulB-justme the only dealers to survive will be the ones who saved the money made from high volume of sales during the pandemic to tide them over. Thanks for watching 👍
