Beautiful cardigan. Over the years I have put so many things “in a safe place”, never to be seen again. Just think of how exciting it will be to find all our treasures when we remember where the safe place is.
Your cardi is lovely Kate. I laughed at your pearls of wisdom. If I want a cardigan that buttons up I'll wear a jumper. Can everyone sitting on the lime green sofa please stand up and search under their cushion for Kates buttons.
This video has inspired me to dig out a cardigan that my Mom has made 40 years ago for herself. She has been gone for 30 years now. She was so proud of it, but at the time I didn't give her the credit she deserved.
So funny, that's how Arne makes his yarn balls from a skein. I never saw that method until a few days ago on their channel. Im knitting a dog sweater for my new puppy for winter. ❤
Kate, you did a wonderful job on the cardigan, and it looks lovely on you! Your hint on how to do a stretchy casting off was so much appreciated! Love, Mavis.
Both my grandmas were knitters. My dad's mum taught me how to knit and crochet . She lived with us and my job was to either hold the skeins of yarn( bought at our local mill) so she could make a ball of wool, later on it was my job to roll a skein into a ball by dropping the skein over the back of an armchair. It took a while to learn to make a nice even ball. I still have most of her old knitting needles and old crochet hooks, along with a lot if old fancy looking buttons, especially the mother of pearl buttons. Wish I would be able to go to a mill to select yarn. However I am able to buy directly on line, but it is not the same. I like to touch and feel.
Hello Kate and Anna (if you are filming). I love all the colors in the yarn. It's quite beautiful. I love seeing cat Rita squeezed into her little box for a nice nap. Your cardigan turned out fabulously. Lovely job! ❤ Have a great weekend. Take care.
How lovely to have a knitting video. I’ve been cheating on knitting with quilting for a few years and this has made me want to get the needles out again!
Your cardigan turned out beautifully, Kate! Very attractive! I had to chuckle when you said you couldn’t find your buttons…so relatable!! This was a fun informative video! Thank you! Enjoy your Fall! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Gorgeous cardi! I really love the different hues of colour in the yarn. Great choice. I haven't knit in 30 years, but I may have just been inspired to dig out my knitting needles. 🧶Bernadette
Lovely vid Kate. Inspirational knitting, and its finished! Well done.🎉 For those looking the pattern, it is on Ravelry too... with lots of her other designs.
Oh Kate I just loved the process with your cardigan! The yarn is lovely with the fleck through it. I chuckled at your chair up next to the fire.😁 Rita loves to be near you helping!😻
You gave me happy memories of helping my mum and grandma, rolling balls of yarn from scenes in the 1970s. lovely cardigan. I will get my patterns out, to look for my next project xxx
As a knitter, I really enjoyed this episode. What a gorgeous yarn and sweater you made from it. Your sweater looks lightweight yet warm and cozy. The yarn looks soft and the colors are beautiful. Thank you for taking us through the seasons as you knit it, Enjoy your beautiful sweater.!
Beautiful oh I so wish I could knit. You do beautiful work. My aunt could knit but wouldn’t teach me or a cousin. She knitted the “ European “ way. Quoting her. She too did beautiful work. You are blessed….. thank you for sharing❣️
Kate, that was so much fun!! I love to knit, and have made great friends over the years at the knit shop I go to...there's a long table where we all sit and knit, talk, commiserate over our knitting and life's problems! Thank you for sharing your cardigan adventures with us. I love your comfy chair and warm fire! Jacki Knight Upper East Tennessee, USA.
I love your sweater. You dif such a good job on it. I've never made anything like a sweater, but my mom used to make sweaters. They do take quite a bit of time, but the results are worth all the work and the waiting. I do love the color you chose.
Kate it’s so you. It looks fantastic. I hope the buttons reveal themselves soon because buttons are my favorite thing about cardigans. I have plenty enough spun wool for two cardigans. I haven’t found the right series though. I too am remarkably produce when I combine TV and knitting. Huge hugs!
Your cardigan is beautiful, Kate! I am not a knitter but truly enjoyed seeing you share the process. Thank you for always being such a lovely space in this world. Watching you from Arizona.
Kate loved the video. Thank you for showing us the whole process and the true amount of time. Sometimes it can be discouraging how some people make it look like they make things in a week. Maybe if you only do one thing you could do that but that would be boring.Loved the color and the pattern. Who need’s buttons
Nice to sit in the sun and knit. I always knit both sleeves at the same time, it allows any shaping of the sleeves to be done simultaneously ( no having to try to remember what you did previously) and when youre done with them, youre done. Btw, i think thats called an italian bind off, also i love the yarn youre using.
Beautiful cardigan. Over the years I have put so many things “in a safe place”, never to be seen again. Just think of how exciting it will be to find all our treasures when we remember where the safe place is.
What???? You wound that ball just using your arms/hands??? That is some talent!!! AW! Hi Rita!!! Hi Kate!!!
Thank you for taking me on your journey of your dream top-down cardigan. It turned out perfect. 💕
