      How are you right now? How much mm was the chiari. Mine in 9.7mm

    I wish I could see Dr Edwards. He seems very compassionate while remaining professional. I’m 35 and was diagnosed about 8 months ago. I’m not afraid of surgery at all. I want to enjoy life again without these unbearable headaches.

    The warning of long term headaches and pain really irks me. I had my procedure done in July of 2015 when I was 16 and was never warned of any physical issues post op. Ended up having to do PT at 23 because I was having severe pain and dizziness again. Thanks doc!

    Yesterday I just found out about my brain growing in to my spine.. It's not a big growth, roughly 1.3mm, but the headaches are there, and I've had some high blood pressure as of late. Being physically active has resulted in sharp pains in my head, as well as dizzying, and occasionally my vision blacks out. Thankfully, I'm taking high blood pressure meds, and was given a very strict diet plan (need to lose weight anyways), and will hopefully nit need surgery. Thank you for breaking this down, sir!

    Hi doctor! I have mine scheduled September. My surgeon is using a titanium patch on the skull as well. What are your thoughts here? I’ve heard a lot of good things, but nervous about it.

      Thank you for your question. Every case is unique and that is a great conversation to have with your treating provider. We have not traditionally used those patches, but they can be useful depending on the situation.

    Is the brainstem considered damaged after this procedure, or is the brainstem touched with it being so close to the brain and being your upper spine??
