Hi. I am doing well. Thanks. And anyone who's about to go through this.. here's a little summary of my recovery... Surgery went well. I was in the hospital/icu for 2 nights and recovering well. Mostly the nights were the hardest just trying to get comfortable. My neck was pretty stiff with some pain. Something I recommend (bc I didn't) maybe I could still do is a little physical therapy to get my neck to not be so stiff even though it's still improving. Also, I had some sharp pains for a bit in my neck. Felt like a wasp sting. But my doctor told me that it was my nerves trying to heal again. The throbbing headaches, dizziness, and feeling nauseous when I strain has subsided a lot (not 100% but closer to it). I would say It was worth it. Before, I couldn't even laugh too hard, or my head would have sharp pains. I couldn't run or I'd have sharp pains with dizziness and feeling nauseous, couldnt pick anything too heavy up, or bending down and standing up...etc. My doctor tells me I'm still healing... Prayers for anyone going through this. It's scary before surgery, but it's really not as bad as I worked myself up to believe ❤
I can't believe her pain is bearable. On Tuesday, it will be a week that my husband got this surgery and he is still asking for pain medication. His pain definitely wasn't bearable for him. Pain medication didn't last him 2 hours without him asking for more. Tomorrow (Monday) he will be transferred to a rehabilitation center where he will receive intense physical therapy to relearn how to walk steadily and gain strength in his arms/upper body. Now, either my husband is a special case or she's not being truthful with how she really feels after surgery..
I have these headaches and was checked for Chiari because I also had scoliosis, which often coincides with Chiari (surgery for scoliosis on 7-15-02) but they said I don’t have Chiari. My scoliosis surgery was done T2 - L3 with the TSRH Crosslink Rod and Pedicile Screw System.
Hello Dr. Cobbs, I recently had this same surgery but not only did I have a chiari I have a syrinx as well. Do you know of a syrinx being the cause for shoulder pain? Or as the syrinx decreases will the shoulder pain improve? I am going on two months post-op now.
@@HarmonyandHope7 I am doing a lot better now, it's been a long road to recovery. I am 6 months post opp as of yesterday. I still have a little pain from the the procedure itself but my shoulder pain is gone. All of my MRI's are coming back perfect. So I can say the surgery was well worth it.
@@whitneyjones4380Hi, I just came across this video and your comment. It’s been about 10 months since your surgery, how are you doing now and how was the recovery. I’ve been putting off this surgery for about ten years now, but I getting to the point where it can no longer be ignored.
Having surgery May 4th and I'm super nervous but I'm so thankful for this video! It's nice to see recovery stories. ❤
Hello!
I would like to know, how are you doing?
How are you doing? did the surgery went fine? Hope you are well.

Hi good sir
Maybe she didn’t have a syrinx, this is why he didn’t go into the dura 🤔 I had syringomyelia because of the Chiari and I had to get the patch.
I'm going to get surgery Tomorrow.and i'm very scared
