Left L5-S1 Discectomy for Acute S1 Nerve Dysfunction
i can't hear you... 👂
Cute fella 😁
please i am looking for a pediatric neurosurgery hospital in america for dbs. can you help me find someone good with dystonia. thank you so much
For that type of niche specialty, you may be best to look for a large teaching institution that will have experience in rare conditions and treatment modalities.
This is very true i have that exact same scar from the exact same surgery on the back of my head just from 3 times my head got cut into i love my brain surgeon he is the reason i want to be a pediatric brain surgeon and yeah i can scratch my scar and it doesn’t hurt theres no feeling
I love you
Does insurance authorize liver biopsy
I had a subdural hematoma in september due to head blows while sparring kick boxing. I was lucky since i tend to regularly check in at the hospital if i feel i could have a concussion. The blood is already gone and im almost off meds but i want to ask the following questions: 1. If i had a subdural hematoma, am i more prone to receiving another one? 2. Can i eventually return to combat sports or do i have to hang the gloves for good?
Those a great questions and should always be viewed as a risk vs benefit instead of an absolute. In the case of trauma, there would not be a significantly increased risk of a repeat bleed. With that in mind, the choice to return to sport is unique to each persons goals and situation.
Me cousin just died from this form of cancer.. sad. More weird is how the algorithm knew to send to me
I'm sorry for your loss
Nice video
Wow
Amazing
Thank you for your work
I had a ct and nothing was mentioned 😮
Amazing!
Great job ..
Well I don’t think this hair is fair at all
Doc do you ever consider direct repair of pars defects?
Great question. Currently, we do not have an adequate technique to repair pars defect with appropriate data supporting good outcomes.
@ thank you Dr. mind sharing prognosis and limitation/expected quality of life post this surgery? Particularly for someone with exact condition mid 40s expecting to get back to soccer and surfing.
❤
knows everyones names except the anethesiolgoist who is actually keeping the patient alive lol. didnt want to bother to learn the anesthesiologist's name?
Look at these surgeons daily life give me more courage to face my life. Want to be bold as you people to face any kind of challenge.
My husband diagnosed with Glio.. and i dont know how we can survive financially..😭😭🙏🙏
That is an under appreciated aspect of this diagnosis. Hoping for the best for you.
Dude has one of the hardest possible jobs but looks like someone's little league coach.
Just got diagnosed last week with a stage 4 glioblastoma. I work out 4 days a week and eat hella healthy/take supplements. Cancer doesn’t discriminate. I had surgery and start the chemo/radiation in 2 weeks. Hoping for 2-3 years. I’m not going years of surgery/chemo. Instead I’m continuing to work out and moving to Thailand.
Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience.
Yes. I remember your story a couple or weeks back. You are very brave and courageous and still strong enough to have a good time in Thailand. My brother in law has just been diagnosed and it’s too deep inside therefore inoperable. Timeline unknown still.
I am 18 years old, and I have a big brother named Sushil Sharma, who is 2 years older than me. He is mentally handicapped, but he wasn’t always like this. He was a normal, healthy child until the age of 3 when he contracted a disease called Japanese encephalitis. This illness caused severe brain damage, leading to the loss of his consciousness and cognitive abilities. Since then, he has been like a toddler in a grown-up body. He can run around but doesn’t understand danger, such as the risk of being hit by a truck. He cannot feed himself, so we have to assist him with eating, and he is not toilet-trained, so we clean and care for him as you would for a baby. He doesn’t recognize what a home is or understand his surroundings. We live in Nepal, and my parents tried treating him when he was young, but none of the treatments worked. At first, we sought help locally, but later, we also went to India in hopes of finding a solution. At the time, we didn’t even know what the disease was. Moving to another country for treatment was not an option as we were poor. This happened in 2007 AD, and since then, my brother has remained in this condition. If anyone can suggest a solution or offer advice, please let me know. You can also reach me on Instagram at @utsavsharma583. I hope to find answers and help for my brother.
Very. Weak😊
I have one and it works great. After many years of pain I am free and going back to work.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I was blessed to have Dr. Richter in my consult with Dr. Edwards last Tuesday. Though he was not involved with the conversation, I admit I did feel a special warmth and caring when he introduced himself to me. Great thoughts. Should be required watching for everyone - not just people in medical disciplines.
I agree. Dr. Richter is excellent and gave very good perspective to our discussion
My brother in law was diagnosed at age 69 in Aug 2024 and died in Nov 2024
I'm sorry to hear that
I really want this for my back pain, nothing else is working, but, Is my Zarelto I take alright for this. I have had many procedures and I just quit taking Zarelto for few days. Please answer ASAP Connie Hoschar
Great question. You should always consult with your treating provider for specific recommendation, but it is common to stop any anticoagulation medication like Zarelto prior to any surgical intervention.
I wish there was more info here. I’m getting MRI’s tomorrow as prep for the trial. I know nothing about this device other than what my Dr has told me and a brochure from Medtronic. I had a herniated disc and went through a laminectomy procedure in 1997. The sciatic pain pretty much went away but I’ve lived with chronic low back pain ever since. I was able to deal with it until 2 months ago and it just gets worse and worse. I don’t want spinal fusion surgery because it’s not a sure cure. The more I see on the internet about this procedure the less I’m considering going to go through with it. I’m on Medicare and at this point I don’t know how much it will end up costing me out of pocket. Like everything medical in the US the actual cost is large.
Good luck with your decision. Feel free to refer to our other videos covering this topic for more information. ruclips.net/video/tLtr_D0P3yc/видео.htmlsi=svI1JqY_mks4sxz3 ruclips.net/video/BEEuLT764zo/видео.htmlsi=_DOAmiqPUqNRwxjN ruclips.net/video/itACEtVQ_38/видео.htmlsi=Sr9rqf2WQHs5umDT
Can an abdominoplasty lead to this dysfunction as well
Great question. That's definitely possible, but there's not a common correlation between abdominoplasty and SI joint dysfunction.
My surgery was very successful. I am 82 , curious as to how long before had symptoms before I realized it,,, years?. Months?
That's great to hear, thanks for sharing
Going through this right now at 28
Following a long career as a Physical Therapist, this is a very honest explanation of back surgery. In my opinion, if you have to have spinal surgery, have it. If you don’t HAVE to, don’t
I agree
I had Achilles detachment, bone spur removal and plantar fascia release to relieve Achilles tendinitis pain and am worse now 3.5 months post surgery and surgeon offering no solution other than PT which feels great in the moment but not doing anything to correct the nerve damage. Wish I didn’t have the surgery.
Здравствуйте! Скажите пожалуста после шунтирования желудочки уменьшаться или нет?
If koe wetzel went into medicine
100% if I saw this dude on the street would never think he was even a doctor! Way to go and being so humble and caring.

Your work is mad respectable ❤❤❤
How is the fluid pushed out throught the shunt if it is not under increased pressure?
The shunt acts like a drain to divert the fluid.
@summitmedicalinstitute But the pressure would have to be increased for the fluid to flow out and this is "normal pressure" hydrocephalus
I have my surgery next week. I hope it will go this smooth like the doctor said
what is considered large cyst? how many mm? there was a 4mm synovial cyst in my lumbar spine found on my mri on the right however id ont have any right sided radiculopathy is this an incidental finding?
Good question. A lot is dependent on the exact location of a cyst and if it is compressing a nerve root.
Help! I’ve had sciatic pain since an injury a few years ago. Had surgery to remove my Piriformis muscle. The pain is just as bad. What should I consider for treatment?
I'm sorry to hear that. They key to medicine is accurate diagnosis. I would always recommend a thorough history and physical exam with your healthcare provider.
Enjoyable to see and Dr Anderson lovely down to earth personality- greetings from Ireland!
This Dr is amazing! God Bless!
I had hydrocephalus earlier this year when I had a burst aneurysm.
