Great clip never seen before, with real women ( and men) dancing. Was an honour to see Thin Lizzy live as my first big concert band and show on the Chinatown tour '80.
I know it's not really live, but I love the video, and I ADORE this song ... Can't believe I didn't even know about it until after Thin Lizzie were no more and Phil had tragically passed on ... Still, better to find out late about a true classic than never at all ... Wayne
I didn't really get into this til I was a bit older. I was just 7 in 1973 and I guess I probalbly only had time for David Soul and Donny Osmond then.....and maybe David Cassidy....
A Thin Lizzy classic , Phil Lynott I believe is singing live with a backing track, this was rare on Top of the Pops as usually all vocals were lip synced 😊
It's amazing to me how many people thought these performances on all of those shows were really live, when you can clearly see that their instruments are not even PLUGGED IN!!! As a kid watching mtv, this was one of the things that really pissed me off. I love the music, but hated the fact that those fuckers really thought everyone was really that fucking STUPID!!!
We had little money, but so very much happier back then, we lived the best lives ever. Thank God you put me on this earth then and not now.
One of the most under-rated rock bands ever. Phil Lynot great guitarist and unique gravely voice.

How could anyone possibly dislike this what is wrong with some people
Die hard Metallica fans can't handle seeing Think Lizzy doing it better.
I love both bands but nothing beats the original
Same people who dislike also are scheduling their bottom surgery
Eric Bell was an incredible guitarist.
Back in my teenage years, when we still had pop music. Just brilliant!!
This was recorded in colour but the BBC destroyed the tape. This is from an engineering Dept film backup which was only B&W...
Lynot (RIP) had a great voice for a great band.
My favorite song of theirs. Love it.

the girl at 2.30 is a great dancer :)
2:30
ya she's a stunner
Yes, totally agree, got all the moves, a real 1970s girl, just beautiful!
I've been listening to this band for 50 years and just recently learned that they were from Ireland.
Imagine how many youngsters walk around Dublin these days, and don't even notice Phil Lynott's statue, let alone stop and show their respects.
светлые воспоминания вызывает эта песня.и лёгкую грусть по хорошим временам
I agree 💯.
Even if Phil had gone out there on his own he would still have been a success .He was born to be a rock star .Good drummer also .
top song, and the presentation is funny!

29K views and only 214 thumbs up and 23 comments? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the girl at 2:30 is dreamy.
A big fat slice of Thin Lizzy
I buy Whiskey with my Giro..
Nice one
great years early 1973

They drink it by the..JAR😲
When you're on the run, there's no time to age it, so it's straight out of the still, into the drinking jar.
Greatest Lizzy song...
Phil is another one gone way to soon.

It was BBC policy. Unions controlled the music rights and a BBC orchestra had to be able to play backing tracks etc. Bands hated it.
People in 73 were a lot more relaxed. Sounds like your generation started the whining fad. 🙄😂
Thick moist fragrant spinach pies
He married Leslie Crowther's daughter. Bet that made for an interesting Sunday lunch.
who's daughter?
Yep a junkie and a drunk…
Great version of the song. However, those English guys dance like zombies.
Yep the english actually invented zombie dancing.
Prefer the vocals here
I agree, I'm pretty sure Phil's vocal is live here, the rest is a backing track.
Edmonds is so uncool. This is class though.
Great clip, but sorry but cannot be bothered with the two preening peacocks right in front of the camera. 2.30 onwards.
I'm American, what on earth does "Whack for my daddy-o" mean? Sounds disturbing😂
Phil Lanott yes Black lives matter lanott claiming him..
If yr going to get on yr high horse Liz at least make the effort to get his name right.
Oh fuck off
Do some research, _Lynott_ was first and foremost an Irishman. And, his mom was white. He never let his skin color be an issue.
