I think you just keep playing the goalie lottery until you're on the doorstep of the playoffs. Any big move for a goalie at this point just doesn't make sense as we should continue to compile prospects.
Not to mention if the guy is likely to still be a potential trade target at the deadline (doesn't make sense for the Sharks) or draft (may make sense for the Sharks) it seems much better to just wait. By next year's draft we may be in a spot where the Vegas pick doesn't look like amazing value, Mack and Smith look like the real deals, Musty/Bystedt/Edstrom all look ready to contribute in a real way plus Dickinson coming up, and we have 2 expiring goalies. At that point it may be reasonable to put a package together for a still youngish goalie who aligns with the core. But right now we are still in the wait and see what assets we have and what our timeline actually looks like, mode.
@@markarbanasin4 Yup. Plus one of our own younger goalies could hit. There’s also the fact that while we were AWFUL last year and will still be bad, we’ve added a TON of talent. A lot of these guys (like McGroarty and Askarov) want out cause they want playing time that we can’t guarantee like we could have even a year ago. Hell Graf signed with us cause he tonight he’d get playing time, but he’s on the outside looking in. Also, goalies take a LONG time to develop, so I’m not even sure he’d be ready for a couple more years?
Yo, love the sharks, don't have nearly 3 hours to listen or the want to listen to you boys for that long...I think you'd do yourselves well to cut 8-10 min videos of the highlights.. thanks for covering sharks hockey!

Do not trade Musty. Especially for a goalie that has no NHL experience. Goalies are crapshoots, don't care about Askarov's projections, he doesn't have an NHL track record to hand over a prime asset.
Please don't bring back Martin Jones. He's so bad at tracking the puck. The prime example that the Sharks organisation had no clue about goalies for a long time. Even as a third stay away from him. We don't need that anymore. Hey Keenan don't let you getting interruptet so much. This Podcast sometimes is to much of a monologue. Don't be mad Sheng😅
This was a really great interview - very insightful guest. Really liked him and his perspectives.

Agreed. Trading for a young, unproven 3rd stringer is NOT the play ESPECIALLY if it’s Eklund or Musty. Goaltending is the last thing we need.

There is no way I would ever trade Musty for anyone. Musty must be Smith's wing man
Thank you! Keep it up !
I think the barracuda signings have looked good and they still have a veteran slot.

@NoSuccGaming lmao, I don't care man.

Saying to trade Musty for a goalie is nuts!
Jack knows what he's talking about, down to the .25 sec
Sheng rambles a little too much 😂
Yah he does repeat the same thing a lot
If you could do like bystedt and Vegas 1st for askarov I think you run with it
Just offer sheet Swayman at these prices
