Great video Clayton, Would love to see something where you talk about your fave shoes and gear! think that would be super helpful to the new and experienced runners
I think you meant 880 yards. I had to run in yards and meters. That was a great workout, fast and controlled. (I would have run the odd ones in the other direction because I'm one of those runners).
More than likely just to keep the turns a little wider. Sometimes training on the tight turns can impact the balance in your legs a little too much. My college had a flat 200m track and we did reps out in lane 6
Can I ask, how did you know you should do the 800m? A lot of people are suggesting to me to do the 800m because if have a fairly fast 400m time and that I'm "built" like one? If you could elaborate, that would be really helpful!
If you’re already naturally a good 400m runner then you’ve clearly already got a good amount of speed. You’ll just need to add a bit more strength endurance, which should be fairly easy to do, so you can hold onto that fast first lap. Seems like a good option
2 types of 800 runners (mainly 400 runners getting pulled up to the 8 or milers tapering down to the 8) the 400 guys getting pulled up either make the 400 look really smooth and efficient and your coach sees potential in that or the other guys, the milers, have the natural leg speed and the endurance, but their leg speed needs a lot more work rather than a natural 400 runner. by build i’m assuming you’re relatively tall, 5’9+ and slim. that’s usually what people think of when they say “built like an 800 guy” although there are some exceptions like Nick Symmonds who was nicknamed the bison because of his short choppy strides and kinda ran like a freight train. both work, but people usually think of the former build when associating someone with an 800 body type

This session looked to easy ! It does not count !!! :D LOL
Q: why do you run all the way out in lane 4
More than likely just to keep the turns a little wider. Sometimes training on the tight turns can impact the balance in your legs a little too much. My college had a flat 200m track and we did reps out in lane 6
What was the rest between the 1k’s and the 5,4,3?
Man ran a 258 pace like so easy.
you look so smooth at 60 second pace lmao

All the people saying a time under 5 minutes for a flip flop mile are completely underestimating how much flip flops affects your running
