The end is exactly like Insight from ultra when it goes silent and then it goes to an instrumental, on this one it's the middle of Wrong. Unfortunately there is no official live but someone did upload all the songs that were on the other night in the Berlin Spirit tour that wasn't chosen, just search Depeche Mode Live Spirit unofficial recordings and they should be there
They played Corrupt in my country so there are some records on RUclips. It’s a case when live version isn’t better (like Mercy in you). Speaking about live versions: Miles Away is much better live with more guitar and different keys. And the same thing with Macro from previous album (seriously, Live in Milan is very good). And the last: I think demos and b-sides are worth listening, some of them are very interesting (like I Want You Now or Little 15, so close to final versions). Except Esque, it must be forbidden for people with ears.
Here comes the critic-man, who, with a few exceptions, is almost always critical of Depeche Mode's material in the 2000s. No exception here. Again a rather lame song without a direct musical hook, in my opinion. I also have a hard time with the stiff sound with the straight-through analog synth sounds that permeate this entire record. It lacks depth and easily becomes plotty and sloppy. This, together with the fact that the song quality is not the best, means that this record does not end up on a higher ranking in my opinion. With this record, I kind of lost my genuine Depeche mode fan status. I of course continued to buy and listen to the subsequent albums that follow, but without any high expectations.
I'm actually not that shocked about what you have said about this album Fredrick. I have read A LOT of comments from different fans over the past couple of years doing this channel, and most of them agree with you!! Depeche mode changed after Alan left and the fandom was split. Only die hard fans were still buying Albums at this point in the 2000's. It's sad to see, but you are honestly not the only one!

This is kind of a throw back to what is Depeche Mode.... Kind of dark, but one of my favorites off this album.

Corrupt has the exactly the same melody as Where's the revolution. New Depeche Mode is just boring and annoying.
