Hi Chris, thank you for mentioning the Photo Tour in your video. Quick note: the Pacific Ocean was released and 100% shipped in December 2023. Before we started a new campaign.
Yep I received mine in December
Came here to say the same thing. I have had my copy for a few weeks now
For Earthbound Rangers I highly recommend using the Tabletop Simulator demo to get a feel for the game to see if it's something for you.
Hey Chris, not sure where you're getting your info on Pacific Ocean but I have my copy sitting on my game shelf right now. I've had it for over a month
That's what I was co.ing to say.
Me too, it has delivered in Europe :)
Pacific Ocean was produced and shipped I’ve had my copy for a few months in the UK, neat little card game 👍
FYI I have received Pacific Oceans already and have played around 10 games already. Production quality is excellent
Same here. Received mine a couple months ago. It’s great.
Same here… received months ago… played on a cruise a few weeks ago
If you want Earthborne Rangers right now you can buy the first printing from Team Covenant. Base game is $100 with add ons.
I got my copy of Pacific Ocean 2 weeks ago - so it has delivered for some.
I also bounced pretty hard off of LCGs, but ER is a much more complete game than those. The gameplay "feels" quite different as well, focusing more on exploration and environment interaction, and much less encounter-focused and punishing than even MC. Perhaps the FOMO applies to ER's campaigns, but it doesn't apply to the game structure itself, unlike other LCGs.
Definitely expensive, so I'd always recommend getting the base game first.
I agree. It feels like a blend of open-world and LCG styles, which is different from the LCG scenario experience or even the LCG linked-scenario campaigns. It does distinguish itself as its own niche.
I think all the LCGs are best at 2-3p. Including EBR. Yeah you can solo, but your deck is gonna be tailored differently. Just how you tailor them differently in MC / LOTR / Arkham.
Yep, I disagree with the comment that these games are best solo. Though they can be enjoyable solo experiences.
Appreciate you bro!
Earthborne Rangers is $80 for the base game, $205 for the game-play all-in, +$150 if you want all the metal minis, +$90 if you want all the variations on playmats (or $150 for 1 central & 4 player mats), +$35 for upgraded tokens, +$35 for art book & map. So if you are a completionist suffering from FOMO you can spend around $580 + ~$30 shipping on the game. On the first day the average pledge was about $200 so it looks like people aren't going for the extreme. Before CMON started making huge games with mountains of plastic I don't think anyone expected to pay $600 for a game.
wtf is going on
The only part of that $600 that is going to a game is the $200 for the all-in pledge, which as I mentioned in another comment, features as much content as the first two years of Arkham Horror LCG releases, which retails for close to $300. Everything beyond that is, as you said, for collectors. None of it is required and a lot of the add-ons have no mechanical purpose. They're just cool items for the people that want them. Implying that this game costs $600 is just false.
Thanks for the grounding approach on EVE, hope you look at it before the crowdfunding ends but after they (allegedly) post the rules!
Unfortunately Cryptic Nature had a dollar down promo precampaign for a mini expansion. Likely would've backed if they didn't have it but fine you lost a potential backer(not like they needed the promo anyway with how they smashed their goal). The early bird is a double edged sword, much more likely to back early, much less if I didn't catch it. These dollar down things though are practically an insta-pass for me.
looks like they are considering making it available as an addon. If not I am dropping my pledge

Ok
I don't think it's fair to cry "FOMO" on Earthborne Rangers because you think it's a game you need to try first, when, as you yourself even point out, there's a free TTS demo online. Moreover, the first printing has already shipped so there's plenty of reviews and gameplay videos. And for that matter, how is this different than any other $100-ish crowd-funded co-op game? What makes this game specifically guilty of FOMO? Additionally, it's not true that the core set isn't available anywhere else, since Team Covenant offers the core set on their website.
earthborne looks crazy awesome
Rangers looks neat. Think I'm gonna save for dying light though. I'm a sucker for the terrain
Before You Play do a full playthrough of Storm Raiders and the game board is evidently double-sided for a more challenging map than the standard map. I definitely am interested in Storm Raiders even though it seems light to middle-weight and there's no player to player combat, just a resource/points thing. I've been following Earthborne Rangers podcast and am interested in it as well, but it's a bit outside my budget. A bit surprised Etherium backing is so low. It def looks cool, I watched your preview vid.
Nothing about mythic games? We'll get HEL?
ER is an experience more than a game with a cult like following already. Im good on that. Ill watch a movie or read a book instead. Plus in time itll be 40 bucks like any other card game. 205 for everything is stupid for a card game
Expert advice= don't give companies intreast free loans
Yes a preview should just be a look at the game without any conclusions. Especially if paid your opinion is biased.
For clickport & Speedport. It is a straight pass. If you wish to do a pattern collecting games, you can look for others at a reasonable price as well. For dexterity wise, it is a hard pass.
how can earthborn rangers be $200?
it's just cards 🙃
From a physical product perspective I get what you mean. But the game has a ton of custom art, a huge amount of development and playtesting work to get an open world vibe and it’s not going with the cheapest option of manufacturers because they are trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Keep in mind the core alone is more content than the first cycle of Arkham horror with the base game and that would cost you about 200msrp. So at 80+ shipping the price is comparatively good. If you are adding in expansions then you should be comparing each campaign box to a whole cycle in Arkham or the like.
Edit: I just double checked and and the first cycle of Arkham and the core costs 175msrp. Considering online retailers usually can get you 30% off that’s 122. So including shipping to most places it’s still cheaper. The smart part about FFGs old model of distribution was that it allowed someone to get a taste of if they’ll like it for under 30bucks. Even though it was a pale comparison to the full experience of 3 cores.
