I still think the design of the boss is dubious. Having a first fight that can totally prevent you to win the second fight feel strange. It’s like if in the first zone, an ennemy could break the diligence and reduce your max number of heroes, it don’t feels right. I think I just don’t like preventing a situation, and rather adapt to it.
In my opinion this boss it the worst in the game, really not a good design compared to the others, and i'm not saying that because it gives me trouble, but because I really dislike the fight. It doesn't feel good to fight it
@@maellemoine-s5727 I came here after having a near perfect run, never fought this thing before, and after the annoying little eyeballs i just get wiped? Like I get i could have done a few things better in the run but aside from that being my first interaction with it, it should NOT have just nuked my team 3 times in a row.
after few fights in the game i'm no longer getting blind into boss fights, that is it, i learned, the game wants you to die to its fucking tricks, so okay, i will spoil the boss fight, cause i had enough of this shit.@@memeoshino2188
how are you supposed to figure this out on your own? I literally went there and died as soon as second phase started not knowing why
Press Alt when howering over a boss,it gives u description of all his skill that he used before.
@@user-ly5oo2hd7pYeah but the moment the boss shows up and you didn't do the first part right you're already screwed, furthermore the game literally doesn't say anything about what to do and there's no way of getting rid of the token, even limerance doesn't consume it. I would have preferred something like the Prophet in DD1, where the first part some of your heroes get marked and maybe nuked when the boss shows up but the tokens get consumed and it shows who is going to get hit next

Thank you for your video, i was strugling to beat the first and second boss, i manage to get the first boss but then the second one was realy hard because i didn't know the breathing mecanic, as soon as i understood it i beat him first try and then straight went for the act 3 that i beat first try thanks to your explainations about how the boss works, luckily i had a good team comp for the boss but noot the item to get the taunt on my tank so my character that burn got focused early and she died in the boss fight. at the end i just spammed blight with my doctor and applaying my combo every tunr with my furie so i could just perma heal every time my man at arms was reaching death doors. so i could just not lose at this point it was pretty fun knowing that you win 100% even when seeing the boss with almost full hp haha.

Nice one, you made it look easy. Did it on my second try with Vestal, Graverobber, Jester and Highwayman but it was much more hairy than yours! :)
14 speed on 3 of my team, 10 speed on my leper. Started with 3 taunt tokens on my leper turn 1. Got 2 seen tokens on leper, then 1 seen token on occultist, with 1 taunt still on leper on turn 1. Entered phase 2 on round 3 with 6 seen tokens across 3 of my team. Fight is broken.
I liked the mechanic where they targeted their mirror position and you had to shuffle your sacrificial pawn- I mean tank around and kill them to take the tokens off if you messed up. But maybe that’s just me. This new one is far more tedious.
Alternatively you can bring the powders that grant stealth (this auto removes the limerance token). Grave Robber and Runaway also have easy access to stealth skills which make them good options in this fight.
Were there anymore changes to thsi fight? I just started a flawless run and have gotten through 1 and 2 and I got caught offguard with the second boss having the shield buff that prevents death
I had a perfect setup going into this, what I wasn't prepared for was my MAA to be taking 40 plus damage each turn... I'm at a loss.
First two moves of second phase boss was 2x 48 and 53 critical and my line parishes instantly fighting this boss with two heroes. Who was making this game was sick in the head. Golden DD1
I just beat this boss on my first try lmao. From front to back: leper, hellion, jester, plague doc. All positive relationships. Did an unreal amount of blight/bleed damage on it lmao but I also had to 2 gigantic hits from it on 3 of my characters. So it was actually just one deaths door hit survival but I ended up killing it on the big passive damage anyway lmao
Is this info up to date? I've seen the seen tokens removed by dodge (at least in the first phase). Also they are removable by stealth.

Thanks. I haven't unlock this combat item for taunting yet but I'll try to increase my MaA speed on my next try.
I beat it with Hellion as my taunt, flag for dots, grave robber for poison, and occultist for curse debuffs and stars nuke skill critical

Just beat this with Crusader, Flagellant, Grave Robber, and Plague Doctor, completely blind. Went to look up a video after, only survived because my Flagellant tanked like a dozen DD rolls after being the only one attacked in the second half. No idea how I would have done this otherwise lol

I was going for deathless and this guy ruined my run. Funny thing I beat it first try previously with the new mechanics. Guess i got lucky 😢 . Using taunt is a great tactic.
Someone should mention that you dont want your tank to have dodge tokens in phase one.

When I get it to smallest eye it evolves back to big one instead of dying, did they change it again?
*UPD I've figured out how that works, you don't need to dot/aggro them, just focus with all heroes attacks one-by-one killing all 3 stages in one round so it does not grow back, easy

Unlike the first two bosses, there is no way to win against this boss without intel. The first encounter always guarantees a loss, which is a bad design.
I beat this first try without Intel. I did get lucky though and got two positive relationships oj some of my core abilities which gave two of my party members dodge. Not sure how I'd do without it LOL

if i didn't hate the Resentment boss enough, they put this thing in the game. Absolutely loathe everything about this boss (aside from the design of the boss itself), the mechanics are so fucking annoying.
Just beat this boss for the first time ever!!! Used Man At Arms, Runaway, Occultist and Plague Doctor. PD got seen first move, used defender to keep occ safe, runaway was seen. Set up chaotic offering the turn before focused fault came out. Burning stars with that trinket that give random buff or 1 stress hit. MAA had last stand, defender and retribution to keep all the flack, pd died first door check and orphan runaway helped with little burn and some dmg. Been stuck on this for so long and it felt so good watching that stupid eye sink into the abyss. Would HEAVY recommend occultist cuz he hits hard without needing crit or strength but can heavy benefit from it if he has one. GL to all y'all and thanks for reading all this :D

i just got roasted by this boss, its seems like it is impossible to beat bosses in DDII going in blind, their mechanics are too cryptic and a lot of their statuses are not explained ingame at all
Yeah this is just bad game design. There is ONE strategy and/or item to get, and if you don't do that, it's a mathematical wipe no matter what. That's not challenging, just bad game design.
I was taking 74 damage crits to the team. If luck isn’t on your side you lose hours of your life :( not a fan of this boss.
So stupid, so either have taunt or suffer a huge time waste, because with a constant taunt character the fight is a basically a cakewalk. Very much busted game design.

It does. It only not works if an eye use evince before u taunt, then they Will ignore the taunt and Focus on the other target
@@supersentaimexicano1967 nah, i had a run where i've used a taunt thingie on my man at arms by jester, and those eye bastards gazed upon my witchdoctor after it. Guarding helped, but taunt... Not so much
@@ВячеславШолохов-ф9п this happened to me too! I thought I was crazy because no one else was mentioning this, but I brought noisemakers like every flipping guide says and they straight up ignored it. Sharpshot Highwayman outsped all eyes round 1, applied noisemakers, and then the eyes decided it was a joke and just targeted others anyway.
i lost like 8 runs to this damn boss
