In the day I stumbled upon them (I think Columbia House) I was all over this shit. I always look for the underdogs. They put the most effort into their craft. (just like sports, I would rather watch AAA than professional. There is heart put into the craft.) They always disappear to my despair and if not, when they become popular I quit listening. This band was in my regular rotation on cassette along with Poison, Motley Crue, ACDC, Bruce Dickenson and the such. (those are classics [with professional producers] so will always be remembered) I just hope D.A.D is still getting revenue from this and not Warner fucking them over... other wise Jihad! I am getting mad! I would classify that as obscure or underrated.
On a side note, around the same time was a band called Tuff-N-Nuff. I can not find any record for the life of me. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Also, a Japanese metal band with "X" in the title, but it is not the one you find on Google. I listened to it in the 89-91 range. All help would be thankful.

Here in Argentine they are all but unknown, but I keep spreading the word!

I did the same with an album from Montrose, had a shark fin moving
in a yard with grass. I never played the album for years, and when I did
put it on a turntable, it blew me away. Montrose 2 I think the album was
called. I liked the art so well, I never thought about playing the album. I
collected a lot of albums, but had none from D-A-D. I liked the song when
I heard it, but I never bought an album that only had one good song. I
will now listen to the full album if RUclips has it. I always thought the title
of this song was Sleeping My Head Away, but now understand it was my day.

I will mention a few bands which I like, and hope you'll like 'em too! Some are old, some are still around: RIFF (and Pappo's Blues); Rata Blanca, Alakrán, Hermética, Iorio, V-8, O'Connor, Tren Loco, Catupecu Machu, La Renga, Eruca Sativa, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota. I recommend you to "copy&paste" the names which, as you can see, are mostly in spanish. There are a lot more, of course, but these will do for now... Let me know if you like 'em!

    [Verse 1]
Mumbling good morning and raising my head
A bad-breath kiss to my pillow pet
Takes a look at the day and turns and stay in bed
Open my eyes when the day have died
I turned the world and I slept all right
Now my daymare is over, I zip my jeans tight
Oh, Lord, won't you bless this night?
    [Chorus]
From the pale lips of a youth who lay
    I'm sleeping my day away
And when the night comes to the city, I say:
    I'm sleeping my day away
Yeah, with my pale lips in the pillow, I say:
    I'm sleeping my day away
After dark is the game I play
I'm sleeping my day, I'm sleeping my day away
    [Verse 2]
When my dreams begin, I'll be proud to be letting you in
With a smile on my face, I guide our dreamboat in
So if you wanna travel along with me
You better sleep tight the rest of the day
You see, I could be a sleeper, it's not rest I lack
'Cause I hit the sack when the sun's coming back
    [Chorus]
From the pale lips of a youth who lay
    I'm sleeping my day away
When the night comes to the city, I say:
    I'm sleeping my day away
Yeah, with my pale lips in the pillow, I say:
    I'm sleeping my day away
That after dark is the game I play
I'm sleeping my day, I'm sleeping my day
    I'm sleeping my day away
    [Bridge]
I'm sleeping my day, I'm sleeping my day
    I'm sleeping my day away
    [Chorus]
    I'm sleeping my day away
Yeah, now I've turned the world around
    Yeah, I did it again
    I'm sleeping my day away
And now I have to wear my shades down Sleeper's Lane
    I'm sleeping my day away
Yeah, all the good people have gone to bed again
    I'm sleeping my day away
Because the devil's at work inside my brain
    I'm sleeping my day away
    I'm sleeping my day...
    I'm sleeping my day away
I'm sleeping my day away, away

Seriously underrated band. I listened to a bootleg copy of this in 1989 because we couldn't get the album in the States where I lived for almost a year. I finally got the album when I ordered it from the store in the mall.

@Werewolf486 I am agreed with you but, think that in that period, there were yet some bands like Cinderella, Motley Crew, Def Leppard, Gun's Roses, LA Guns, Skid Row, so on...it is difficult for DAD, i suppose, also because, maybe, they were not english or americans. And their textes are different from the hairy bands of that period, with more humour. It is a my opinion.

Very sad...
