One of my favorite memories of the FFXIV community is when the voice actor for Edmont de Fortemps (Stephen Critchlow) died. Every server had people standing outside of Fortemps manor just quietly mourning and people were still stopping by days later to pay their respects.
I remember being a sprout still doing the qsts there when it happened, people where just sitting there in rows. I didn’t know what was up, but I looked it up. It was the first time I witnessed how tight the community is.
I never cried that much about him, back then it felt a bit forced to me and I rolled my eyes because he didn't meant a lot to me. + In the Japanese version he's a creep ... But when I heard his voice in Endwalker the tears began to flow ... :(
@@bighatastrea oh yh, I heard even his personality is more pervy on the JP version. As an ENG players and as someone who immerses himself into the stories I play through, I began to think of him as a friend.
Reason he couldn't just move out of the way is because it was taking alll his strength just to keep it from piercing through with magic. and why you cant heal that is because the spear killed his Aether.
It’s actually stated in the WHM story line that the reason why we can’t heal people in the brink of death is because their bodies are too weak to heal them. We are not gods and we are not here to play such role.
@@Shadowfright_ That too yea. You can also straight up kill the persons Aether too Like I think whats happened here. I wish Healers had a special cutscene trying to heal him tho :(
@@kyero8724With the Duty Support being added to the game, they reworked this scene. Now, Alphinaud is there with you, and he tries to heal Haurchefant, but... the wound is too deep...
To this day? Still one of my most favorite dungeons. Back when HW was new? I leveled all my classes to HW cap running this dungeon. It paid the best experience of them all considering time to run it vs others. Plus? The last boss had a chance to drop a minion called the Unicolt. I think? Name may be off. That was several years ago. Anywhere? Thar minion could be sold on the Market for a shit ton! I made so much money leveling my classes. Getting that minion to sell over and over again.

Yea being there when his father finds out was brutal...
when his father says the exact thing haucherfaunt says...

The Vault is definitely 10/10 dungeon
