Wait, you seriously didn't this much time looking for mistakes in one of the goofiest over the top sitcoms of all times while ignoring the fact that no episode ever shows any actual topographical changes except for one episode where they think Gilligan fell off a cliff?
None of these are bloopers. Bloopers are outtakes that are funny, typically with actors flubbing their lines and breaking character. If the scene remains in the final cut, it’s not a blooper. Most of the so-called “bloopers” you note are continuity errors.
Met Bob Denver by complete happenstance back in the late 90's at a restaurant in west va. He was very polite and down to earth. After leaving the restaurant Bob hopped into an old ford pickup truck and headed down the highway. This encounter was a nice treat and will always be a great memory. Rest in peace little buddy

I too met Bob Denver. He was heading up the hotel stairwell and I was heading down. It was the day after the Hollywood earthquake. He said hello and smiled. I got to meet Gilligan!
Mary Ann was always my favorite. I was blessed, in 2014, to enjoy dinner with her. She was just as sweet in person as she was on the show. I genuinely miss her.
@@FactsVerse, Hmmmmm… the ones with Mary Ann in them. I didn’t know a single guy that didn’t dream about being stranded on that island with her. Not Ginger, who wasn’t very friendly at all and spent break times sitting all by herself as she thought the show should’ve been more about her. The rest of the cast were all like family and spent lots of time together. Ginger was the red headed (no pun intended) stepchild that wanted nothing to do with anyone else. Sad.
The show had an epic theme song and the antics were so silly and entertaining, I doubt anyone minded the bloopers or even noticed them. Great show! And, it's hard to pick a favorite character. There were each highlighted almost equally, and their characters were developed pretty evenly. I love watching reruns and love all the characters.
I always thought if it as a live action cartoon. The characters were a representation of humanity and the Seven Deadly Sins. Giligan was Sloth, the Skipper was Wrath, The Professor was Pride, Mr Howel was Greed, Mrs Howel was Gluttony (this one is a stretch), Ginger was Lust, and Mary Ann was Envy.
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
The bloopers are some of the fun things you look for after you've seen every episode 50 times. My Dad and I caught several of these watching the reruns over the years.
Not long ago, I found out I was a baby boomer. I was born in April of 61. I thought the professor was interesting. I couldn't believe Gilligan could be that dumb.
My friend and I were standing in LAX in 1986 just killing time until we could board our plane to go home. An actor (whose name I do no know) and his wife walked over to where we were and started chatting. They were waiting to board their plane to Hawaii. Alan Hale Jr. appeared, and walked over to us too. He was wearing the Skipper clothing he wore on the show. He's a big man! He was 6 ft. 2" tall. His height never really came across on TV back in the day. Sadly he died on January 2, 1990 of Thymus Cancer at age 68.
Fun stuff, thank you so much for sharing your life story! We're happy to know that you had a chance to meet Alan. May he find peace. Which episode is the most memorable for you?
My favorite sitcom I cannot wait to come home to watch this from school!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen any bloopers lol. Some people just got too much time on their hands I guess.
Mary Ann, wearing short shorts, of course. Gilligan was always hilarious. My favorite was when he made wings out of palm leaves and was going to fly off the island. He was doing quite well until the Skipper told him it was impossible, at which point fell to the ground.
Greg Davis I caught one blooper when I was a kid in the episode pass the vegetables Gilligan said his favorite is spinach but in the episode where the professor built a lie detector he said I like spinach and he went off meaning that Gilligan did NOT like spinach and on dvd I caught a blooper in one episode Mrs Howell said she spoke fluent French but in another episode she said I don’t speak French
They were on a "3 hour tour" but during the tour they got caught in a storm. There's no mention of how long the storm lasted or how long they drifted before they landed. In fact if you reference the beginning of the first episode (you played a clip of it) they wake up on the island. It's clearly at least a day later. Gilligan says to the Skipper "When the storm was over and it was calm you said we'd be home in no time." So they could have been drifting for days.
Things that Gilligans Island taught me as a kid. If you ever take a 3 hour tour, take all your stuff. If you are trapped someplace. An idiot ruining your plans only gets 2 chances before he gets locked up.
Loved this show! Mary Ann and Gilligan were my favorites. Mary Ann for obvious reasons. She was so pretty and sweet. Another show years later that also was chalked full of obvious uncut bloopers was The Greatest American Hero (1981-83) starring William Katt, Robert Culp, and Connie Selleca. If you haven't covered this one - you really should.
Mary Ann was my favorite! I have all the episodes on DVD which was a gift from my mother who knows it was one of my favorite shows as a child in the 60s.
I think he also built a two way transmitter from parts out of the radio and when Gilligan had a tooth ache he built a dentists drill and power generator to operate it.

If I could've chosen to be "stranded" on that island with any one of them, my choice would've been with "Mary Ann".While she wasn't the most popular character, She was always sweet, kind and down to earth. A real "country girl."
When I was a kid, my favorite character was the professor. He seemed to be the voice of reason in an insane world, although you'd have to conclude he was as clueless as the rest. Maybe as Russel Johnson once said, "Who'd WANT to get off an island with Ginger and Mary Ann?" As I grew older, my favorite was Mary Ann because, c'mon, she was so hot.
Fun fact…The S.S. Minnow set sail for her 3 hour cruise from ‘The Ala Wai Yacht Harbor’ located in Honolulu. At one time Peter Fonda docked his boat there. It’s behind the Ilikai Hotel off of Ala Moana Blvd. 🤙🏽
Never been to Long Beach, but seen enough Rock bands there in videos. But lived in Honolulu a short time. And never thought about it until you put that up.
I loved the show, could care less about the “bloopers”. By the time all the mistakes are identified you have to say… you like the show or not. I loved it , mistakes and all.
Another channel showed the studio and back lit where the show was filmed. The lagoon is now paved over but back in the day, it was in the very back of the property. Those building you saw were peoples homes. The back of the lot were residential homes while the front had stores. It was one of the reasons why they wanted that spot. While filming they wouldn’t have to worry about buildings over the tops of the trees.
In 1981 I was on senior year high school break in California. Was taking a tour of Universal studios and we went to the lagoon. The whole cast was there filming the Harlem globetrotters episode. In retrospect kinda cool.
My favorite character in "Gilligan's Island," would have to be Ginger. Ginger always seemed to be in "Hollywood," mentally. Gilligan's Island was a good show with good actors/actresses.
Fun show with or without the gaffs. No one back then cared about things like wires or painted backdrops. People didn't pick things apart like they do today. However, if you're going to go looking for bloopers, you sure missed a lot of them. Like the episode where the Howells decide to adopt Gilligan because they never had children, then the TV movies that follow show us Thurston Howell IV, a fully grown man. Or how about the one with the Russian cosmonauts? It's revealed that only one of them speaks English, then Gilligan overhears them making plans... both speaking in English. They also mark a bottle with an X, then use the wrong one. How about the cigarette butts in the sand during the Jungle Boy episode? Or Ginger saying she's ruined her only dress in the very first show? Or how the doors and windows in the huts keep changing... many, many more. You picked a show that is loaded with glitches, but barely mentioned any of them. Like I said, no one worried about these things back then. People assumed the shows would only be seen once and there was no such thing as rewinding or freeze-framing an episode. Different times. My favorite character? Eva Grubb.
My favorite, as an adolescent of the '60s, was Mary Ann. Had the good fortune to meet Dawn Wells a couple of years before her passing. A totally delightful lady, and a doll even in her late-70s.
Fun Fact; In the creator Sherwood Schwartz story of how the show came to be, the producers needed to know why the castaways were on the island, or else they would not make the show. So Schwartz rewrote the theme song from a calypso type of song to the one we all know, because it told the story and introduced the cast in a "Folk song" style. Sung by the Wellingtons.
The show was pure campy fun. I don't think they were trying to do too much with it besides making us laugh. It was a great show and the bloopers just make it funnier. The bloopers are like a cast member on a comedy show breaking character to laugh at how ridiculous it all is.
You've heard the old saying that everybody has a twin somewhere in the world, what's the chances of Gilligan's twin showing up on the island , Gingers twin showing up on the island & Mr. Howell's twin showing up on the island ?
Star Trek had the same bloopers with wires and suspended objects (ep. Where No Man Has Gone Before). With Gilligan's Island there were gaffs every week, and we used to watch for them and point them out. The episode where they were trapped in cages was one of the most glaring. There was a shot showing that the cages were two or three sided, and open on one or two sides.
When my son was little, and he wanted a bedtime story, this, the Beverly Hillbillies, and probably a couple of other shows were my story topics. I would start the story by telling the theme songs, and then describe an episode. He loved them, and even when he found out that the stories I told him weren't my imagination, he thought it was perfect. I miss shows like this.
Next, you're going to tell me they weren't on an island at all! Lol. I loved Gilligan's Island as a kid, It was already in syndication when I was born, but I still watch it today when it is on. Oh yeah, I was a Maryann fan, all the way. Something about those farmers daughters! ❤
Gilligan's Island was a popular television series that ran from 1964 to 1967, and it followed the adventures of a group of castaways on a deserted island. Gilligan, played by Bob Denver, was certainly a beloved character and often provided the comedic relief in the show. His bumbling, yet lovable personality endeared him to many fans of the show, and his antics often resulted in hilarious misadventures. But as you mentioned, all of the characters on Gilligan's Island had their own unique quirks and personalities that made them enjoyable to watch. From the goofy Skipper to the glamorous Ginger, and from the intellectual Professor to the millionaire Thurston Howell III, each character brought something different to the table and helped to create a memorable and entertaining show. It's always great to hear that people still enjoy watching classic TV shows like Gilligan's Island and appreciate the humor and charm of the characters.
Everyone has to remember, when all these 50's to early 70's shows were made, we didn't have VCR's, DVR's or any type of streaming apps. Also, TV was only available via Rabbit Ear Antennas catching air waves. Which all this means is, the best clear picture you would get, still had some fuzz or grain to it. Also, the big number one thing, you had no way to stop the show and rewind to look for flaws. Even though these videos are fun catching bloopers and mishaps, give the shows of the time period a break. To me, growing up watching all these shows was magic and made life just a little easier.
I had a crush on the Skipper even though now I find out that he was 55 years old when I was born, lol.I grew up watching this show not knowing what syndication was. With an endless supply of coconut cream pies on a beautiful island who would want to leave? Those huts were top notch
Watching these clips, It's amazing this show lasted more than a season or two. Especially with the knowledge that everyone seemed to carry a lot of personal belongings as you pointed out. As far as AM radio, there were and are stations that operate 50,000 watts, and could possibly carry that far from the East Coast; but reception would be much better in the evening and at night.
In the 80's/90's I use to play music at Don the Beachcomber Restaurant in Seal Beach, CA. They had a small TV in the Tiki Room Bar that played episodes 24/7!🏝🏄♂️🦈
Those buildings would not have been visible on an old CRT. Anywhere from 5% to 15% of the edges of the screen were usually covered by a bezel. This is why some older console video games have a "safe zone" setting that lets you move important UI closer to or farther from the edge.
There were many good moments in this show, and one of my favorites is when Mr. Howell gets jump scared, and his wife asks if he's alright, and his answer being something to the effect of "I don't think so my dear - I think Rigor MORTIS has set in!!"
In the episode Allergy Time, when Gilligan is moving out of the hut because the Skipper is allergic to him, the skipper keeps sneezing and blowing out the candle. When the Skipper is about to sneeze again, Gilligan puts a board between the Skipper and the candle so he doesn't blow it out again. It's quick, but to the right as the Skipper is sneezing, someone can be seen blowing the candle out.
About picking up a radio station with a W call sign, there is an atmospheric phenomena called the “skip” which can scatter the signal of a 50,000+ watt radio station places where you would swear it could never go. Our local Midwest radio station used to be 50,000 watts, and they had reports of being picked up in Europe, especially on winter nights. If I remember right, I think the farthest away it was picked up was Finland, or another one of the Scandinavian countries. It’s rare, but it’s possible. It all depends on atmospheric conditions.
Also pointed out a long time ago was that the original pilot cast members were on the Minnow in the first episode when the Skipper and Gilligan first wake up!
Mrs Howell was an aristocrat who was loyal and kindhearted. She was a very pretty older woman and a great dresser(okay so she could afford to be). I thought she was funny with her naivete. Never a snob she never complained but did her best to adapt.
My favorite was Ginger. I always have loved her since I was a child. I actually met her in person, but was too star struck to tell her how much I appreciated her. My friend did all the talking. I didn't wash my hand for a day after I touched her hand. Lol. I am sure she probably doesn't remember this brief introduction. But as a big fan, I will remember it the rest of my life.
Fun Fact. Back in the sixties when Gilligan's Island was on TV, there weren't any billionaires. It was something to be a millionaire. The cast of Gilligan's Island were well off I'm sure, but only one cast member was an actual millionaire. Who? The cast member playing Mrs. Howell. Apparently her husband was a very successful California Realtor.
There were billionaires back in the 60s!!...JP Getty, Rockefellers to name 2...many more.....and car phones too...Mr Howell said he would "use the phone in our car"....interesting!!
Maybe you don't understand sarcasm: "the mate was a mighty sailing men, the skipper brave and sure" is a setup for "if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost", immediately followed by "The ship's aground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle". That is, the minnow WAS lost, therefore the "courage of the fearless crew" was not sufficient to save the boat. Also, "desert" in this context means "deserted".
I use to ask how come everybody else has all kinds of clothes and accessories, but the professor, the skipper, and gilligan only have 1 shirt and 1 pair of pants.
"Five passengers" is correct. Let's count: 1. Gilligan 2. the Skipper too 3. The millionaire 4. and his wife 5. the movie star 6. the professor 7. And Mary Ann A total of seven, minus two (Gilligan and the Skipper were crew, not passengers.) Five passengers.
it wasn't a three hour tour, which caused them to be lost. They were carried away by a storm which lasted into, and likely thru the night. The storm could have carried them hundreds of miles off course. I think the official placement is 300 miles SE of Hawaii.
After dark AM radio signals can skip great distances. Famously, in the 1960s Wolfman Jack claimed he was broadcasting from Del Rio Texas but he was on a high powered AM station across the river in Mexico. When skip propagation was in Wolfman could be heard all over the USA. At night time WLS AM in Chicago and WABC AM in New York were listened to at the Guantanamo navy base in Cuba.
What do you expect for a series with hardly any budget where everything had to be done on the cheap? The show made up for it with excellent entertainment.

Who was my favorite of the cast? Dawn Wells. For the obvious reasons~!
We're a big fan of Dawn too. Which episode appealed to you the most?
Eva Grubb.
well said given the Era it was filmed, being a sitcom, it was a joy to watch every episode. I loved every cast member, they all had charictor.
Warning... Puddles is a Clown. I don't wanna inadvertently trigger a phobia. 😂
Really it's genius!!
The Wellingtons also appeared on a later episode as the group "The Mosquitoes."
@@DONRHOLLOWAY I kind of remember that one!!! 😆
So what!!!!! It wasn't made to be taken seriously. Is this going too fast for you? Incredible...just incredible. You're a genius!
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great day!
Gilligan's Island creates nostalgia & childhood memories for people who were children from the 60s all the way to the 80s.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse 🤔 I remember when the rock band ,The Mosquitoes ended up on the island. 😂
Mr. Howell was my favorite character, his lines and ad libs always made me laugh
Old TV is our folktales, lol.
Next, you're going to tell me they weren't on an island at all! Lol. I loved Gilligan's Island as a kid, It was already in syndication when I was born, but I still watch it today when it is on. Oh yeah, I was a Maryann fan, all the way. Something about those farmers daughters! ❤
It was always Marianne. I mean come on just look at her. That is the girl next door we all wanted.
I love Gilligan's Island as much as I did when I was a kid, im 61 now and still love it
Us too! Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?

@@FactsVerse They where all Great, (memorable), One doesn't stand out to Me, I've got a Brain-Injury ! ! ! --the end--
its like criticizing a cartoon for not being real, there are tons of this type of blooper and its a part of the show that adds humor
Gilligan was my favorite character on Gilligan's Island. But all character's were a hoot.😊
I would have to say Gillian is my favorite. Though I loved all the characters of the show.
One of our favorites too, you've got taste! How about the most memorable episode for you?
I had a crush on the Skipper even though now I find out that he was 55 years old when I was born, lol.I grew up watching this show not knowing what syndication was. With an endless supply of coconut cream pies on a beautiful island who would want to leave? Those huts were top notch
I liked all of the characters, it was great escapism television back in the day.
I loved Gilligans Island. Never saw a single flaw. Of course I was 8 in 1964. Still one of my favs.😄
To the South Pacific?
you could realize these clips are from nearly 60 years ago? This aired in the 1960s.
@@Llew70 I know...I watched when it originally aired, and then when my nephews visited my mom and dad, they watched Gilligan's Island.
Ok. Stop analyzing a show that was a comedy not a documentary.
This is why some older console video games have a "safe zone" setting that lets you move important UI closer to or farther from the edge.
all the actors are great, the skipper was always my favorite
!
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. Which episode appealed to you the most?
so many great ones, one was the bank robber(Larry Storch)@@FactsVerse
There were many good moments in this show, and one of my favorites is when Mr. Howell gets jump scared, and his wife asks if he's alright, and his answer being something to the effect of "I don't think so my dear - I think Rigor MORTIS has set in!!"
The Rocky and Bullwinkel show had my dad laughing at jokes I didn't get until much later.
I would have loved it if there was an episode with a young Wilson washing up on shore.
I was a 6 year old kid when the show started, and I watched every episode. I was in love with Mary ann. 😍
ALWAYS LOVED THIS SHOW!!😁!!!THANK YOU!!!!
right up there with My Favorite Martian, Bev Hill, Green Acres, Petitcoat Junction and Batman!
It all depends on atmospheric conditions.
over thinking it, it was a made up show full of fantasy.
One of the most funniest sitcom
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Who is your favorite cast member?
The girls, and MRS. H., certainly knew how to pack a lot of clothes in the smallest pieces of luggage. Bravo!
Also pointed out a long time ago was that the original pilot cast members were on the Minnow in the first episode when the Skipper and Gilligan first wake up!
Picking out continuity errors in Gilligan's Island is like looking for realistic physics in a Bugs Bunny cartoon
Mary Ann all the way for decades! Even in her passing im still in love with her. Hope to meet her in heavan!
Haha, even if the trip was a 3 hour tour, a storm could have caused them to drift far past 40 miles.
Blooper back atchya, lol.
Enjoyed the video.
Mary Ann has always been my favorite character.
One of our favorites too, you've got taste! Who comes in at second place?
The Skipper and his "Little buddy" 😅😄
Loved the wsy Alan Hale looked at the camera thru out the series...cool!!
Us too! Thank you so much for bringing back memories. What other types of video would you like to see?
Me too,, he looked at the camera after Gilligan did something to annoy him..
He was a big fan of Oliver Hardy who used to do that as well. Much of their comedy material was taken from Laurel & Hardy.
Good show I watch every afternoon after school.😊
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
Mrs Howell was an aristocrat who was loyal and kindhearted. She was a very pretty older woman and a great dresser(okay so she could afford to be). I thought she was funny with her naivete. Never a snob she never complained but did her best to adapt.
Did you know that Dawn Wells was her friend/caregiver for the later years in her life?
True, a 21st century Mrs. Howell would be an insufferable whiner! Ginger would be an entitled priss. But Marianne would still be sweet.
I knew Natalie Schafer. She was very kind to me, but also bitter that Sherwood Schwartz screwed the cast out of residuals.
They went out for a three hour tour but the storm blew them around all night. No telling where they ended up.
In the opening 1st season B&W credits, the flags in the background are at half staff because President Kennedy was killed.
Thanks for sharing that information about Mrs. Howell.
There were billionaires back in the 60s!!...JP Getty, Rockefellers to name 2...many more.....and car phones too...Mr Howell said he would "use the phone in our car"....interesting!!
@@keithbrown8814 I stand corrected about the Billionaires.
Very interesting, thank you so much for sharing this fun fact about Mrs. Howell! Which episode is the most memorable for you?
@@kevinfloyd1864 you're welcome....
So many mistakes but so much fun watch.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great week!
What the hell does this video have to do with the title and thumbnail? I will make a point to put this site on my "do not return to" list.
You go boy! 😂
Welcome to the AI RUclips wasteland!
"Five passengers" is correct. Let's count:
1. Gilligan
2. the Skipper too
3. The millionaire
4. and his wife
5. the movie star
6. the professor
7. And Mary Ann
A total of seven, minus two (Gilligan and the Skipper were crew, not passengers.) Five passengers.
it wasn't a three hour tour, which caused them to be lost. They were carried away by a storm which lasted into, and likely thru the night. The storm could have carried them hundreds of miles off course. I think the official placement is 300 miles SE of Hawaii.
Ummmmm... it clearly states "a 3-hour tour" right there in the theme song!
Mary Ann by far my favorite 😍
Us too! What do you think of Ginger?
All the characters were great.
Mary Ann however woke me up to the girl next door persona.
I'm still all in.
They did the best they could. Leave them alone 😄😄
Ya! Leave them alone. I loved that show. I still watch it on MeTV when they have it on.
Mary Ann will always be my favorite character on the show.
One of our favorites too, you've got taste! Who comes in at second place?
I was a Mary Ann fan but Ginger was cute too and liked the clueless Professor.👍🏾

What do you expect for a series with hardly any budget where everything had to be done on the cheap? The show made up for it with excellent entertainment.
