I'd like to see a turtle positional video. Proper turtle, when and how to use it, what not to do in turtle, regaurding and escaping, etc. Plus, I remember from a video a while back, you said you love turtles 🤣 🐢🤙 Thanks for all you do Jordan!
Yes, please!! I’m a woman with long fermurs and kind of bad hip mobility, so turtles are my weak spot. I’m often too high and easily tipped over. Even if I opened up my hips enough to go fully to the ground then my ankles stick out. Would be cool to get some tips that take into account different body types
Not trying to direct you away from Jordan. His stuff is absolutely brilliant. But if you want the best turtle out there, nothing is stopping you from watching a shitload of free videos from Priit Mikhelson here on youtube. Studying Priits turtle has made such a crazy impact on my game - from getting dominated a lot to being able to reset from everywhere.
I counted 16 tips. This was awesome. Thank you! - Control 3 points for the breaking mechanic - Pin their shoulder down with your legs - Or control the shoulder by controlling their hips by grabbing their leg - Keep their elbow high above your waist - Loop in to the elbow instead of grabbing the forearm to prevent the elbow slipping - Focus on controlling the wrist - Keep chest close to the wrist - Make their thumb point the same direction as your hips (not necessarily "up") - It's ok to cross feet, there are many useful leg configurations. Whatever you do - use the legs to control the shoulders. - From bottom - keeping their elbow on your chest is the main objective during the transition. You can be sneaky and not even grab their arm sometimes. - Defensive grips - Prevent their defensive grips by stomping or grabbing their opposite hand or arm - Break grips by looping your "inner elbow" on their wrist. Prefer the uppercut direction is how I say this to myself. - Consider it a puzzle - look at what is in front of you and prioritize using your brain over your muscle to untangle grips. - From top - clear a positional path, like passing guard. For the hips to go to the shoulders, remove or sidestep their frames. Take an underhook, double underhooks, or get their arms up high. - Finish with their wrist in your armpit for more breaking power
Triangles would be awesome for a video like this! Also I'd really enjoy and learn from watching some narrated sparring in specific basic positions such as closed, half, DLR, or butterfly! There is a lot of instructionals out there but not as much specific sparring to learn what stuff looks like live. Any content you provide is always appreciated and I hope you had a great summer! :)
hey man just wanted to say thank you for the videos. My game has improved significantly, and by watching your videos I have learnt a great deal and my game has changed completely. One video which I would find useful, is how people with shorter legs / less flexible legs should roll. For example, I find hitting triangles difficult and body triangles basically impossible.
Thks a lot Jordan. For the next we need 10 tips for triangle or omoplata… you can do that for all the submission and it’s so helpfull for all the belt level (i’m blue belt) osss
Awesome video Jordan we appreciate you dropping another dope one purple belt here and your videos always help me brush up fine tune and learn new things 🫶💪🏻
Hi people.. I have Jordans wrestlingfor bjj itsawesome..I suggest you order it .. easy to follow . . No fluff. ..to the point. Use it for my comp class ..
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu awesome man! I have a long drive in the mornings for work, always listen to y’all when it drops. At least one drive I’m occupied haha hope all is well!
Still amazed at how Tony escaped that armbar against Oliveira… Also do you plan on doing any more back control videos other than the straitjacket system? (Grip fighting, hooks, escapes and defence, getting under the chin etc.). I feel like it’s such a fundamental part of bjj and mma, considering that the RNC is the most common submission by a large margin in mma. Also we do back rounds in my 10P gym every lesson and I keep getting steamrolled lmao.
I think i was taught that the cross feet isnt bad its the wide/seperated knees that is associated with crossed, so you can cross feet if you keep your knees close. Wide knees is lighter
this is what i needed because people kept just sitting up in my armbars i didn't realize that all you had to do was keep your hips in line with their shoulder
My biggest issue by far with armbars is when they block their top leg with their back arm, like grab their bicep defensively on the arm im attacking where I just can’t get my leg over their face because they’re framing, I’m not sure what to do here Do you have any tips for this
It's normal to feel claustrophobic when you start out, especially when you feel pressure from positions such as the Mount. Accept it as much as you can and realize that you'll get used to the sensation. Before you know it, you'll forget how feeling claustrophobic felt 🙂
Lmao i watched this last night after a pink concert. Instantly started landing more armbars at noon class today. The controlling hips was such a good tip
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu thanks it was, I was never a huge pink fan, it was just nostalgic good summer toons but now holy shit! She puts on a banger of a show! If you ever get the chance you should take it!

This is the best bjj channel on RUclips.
Thank you, Keith. That means a lot man :)
Thank you for another video! Your channel is helping me A LOT as a white belt
It helps me a lot as a brown belt 😂
thanks guys!! Feels good o have another video up finally. Basically took the summer off lol

Noted, great idea man! I like it. Consider it done :)
So refreshing, that the video doesnt start with a 2 minute useless introduction. Other creators should take notes :D
Haha thanks Thomas! I appreciate it :)
All great tips. I'm only a purple belt coach but certainly teach a lot of these principles like attacking at the wrist. Definitely learned a few, too.

You should do these tips videos for multiple different submissions or even takedowns because this 1 video is amazing
Thank you! That's my plan 🙂
Awesome video. Can you make a video on tips for a white belt's first tournament?
Definitely! That's a really great topic idea. Will do soon!
So helpful. I've had a difficult time getting armbars forever. Thanks for this great content!
Glad you liked it! I hope you'll like my upcoming videos as well. Got some exciting stuff incoming 🙂
great video as always Jordan! Miss rolling with ya!
Looking forward to it again!
Awesome - you make the greatest videos - love the technical breakdown - now one on armbar defense, please -???🥋🤙🏼🛡️⚔️
Thank you! Yepp I'll create a reel about it, good idea :)
You’ve got one of the best youtube jits instructionals out there 😊 good job

Thanks man! Glad you enjoy them!
Dude speaks truth: armbars are in the hips and their elbow. Everything else is situational.
Well summarized :)
best bjj channel on youtube thank you so much. can you make a video on proper framing from guard and shrimping?
Thanks man! Yepp I'll create a reel :)
I like this format a lot
Thanks! Happy to hear it :)
Awesome video, super useful! I would like to see how to Buggy Choke properly. I always struggle with this submission 😩
Haha good one man! My buddy Joey is really great at that one. I might get a video filmed with him :)
This was an amazing video, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Personally for breaking defensive grips I go straight to the bicep slicer. They let go immediately with barely any pressure applied.
Great video as always 🥰 Do you mind making a video about mount domination?
Thanks! I'll make that one for sure :)
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 🥰
Thank you!

Sounds good! 🙂
Was there a labor day promo code for the course? Got a tourney coming up end of Sept could use the edge :)
Yepp it was active for several days, defunct now. Reach out to me via Instagram and let's see what we can do 🙂
Thank you
'don't cross the feetch!"
😅
Do you make a catalog archive/library of all of your techniques from rolls in order to reference them in the future?
I have them all stored on a hard drive. It makes it all much easier :)
Where is it better to finish?Inside hip or outside hip?
Depends on this situation imo
Was that Jeff Chan around the 1:44 mark?
Yepp the legend himself
Guillotines and arm triangles I feel like they’re always available and I can never get them

How not to get claustrophobic as a beginner? When I'm on the bottom I usually end up claustrophobic.
