The TRUTH Hurts VS. BALL BUSTER

  • You want to know the truth? THIS is the truth. It hurts but you only hurt the ones you love. Real talk, if you have something to say you need to say it. Nobody's perfect but give yourself a license to have those truthful conversations with the ones you care most about. When the shoe is on the other foot (or kicks the sack) you have to take it with an open mind.

Mr. JT, I'll keep putting up some of these. Noticed that I don't have a whole lot of these first person rides on the channel, I should do one every couple months to mix it up.

Truth spoken brother, that's what true friends do for each other, tough love, but it is a good thing man, we all need to be checked from time to time, it makes us stronger together, well said Deez 💯

This is exactly why I don't have friends. My mouth has no filter...and I answer peoples questions honestly. But, people in my experience HATE the truth. They'd much prefer fantasyland....that makes me sick, so I tend to be a loner 90% of the time. I get along really well with my dog, though. :)

My man Randy, you hit the nail on the head. I think a lot of people who call us friends are actually really cool people but more like acquaintances. Your friends are people you'd go into battle with because they'll tell you when you're about to fall off a cliff. Acquaintances will care if you fall off but they might not actually be looking out for you walking too close to the edge. Rock on brother.

So true, the only thing that has to happen is let our guard down to listen even if we put those walls back up afterward. If it comes from a good place, the only thing they can accuse you of is caring too much.

Sometimes things are better heard from a friend then a family member. You'll over look what family members tell a lot. Preach it brother. Yeah same here in south Alabama with the riding season

What's up Mac? It's great to live in a place where the riding goes all year even if we have to suffer through the 100 degree summers to have it. I'll take that over the alternative any day.

As a senior manager when I worked, If I was going to have a great team, I knew it was my job to dish out the criticism and the compliments.if we were going to improve the team. I often use the hamburger approach to giving criticism. I’d give a compliment, add a “but”, and finish which a however if you tried this instead you would be great. So it would go like this; You look great riding your bike, but when you corner you always scrape your footboards, however if you shift your weight off the edge of your seat, you wouldn’t have lean the bike over so far, and then your riding would be near perfect!

That's a great way to coach. What you outlined is what I think some people try to do but they get the details wrong and they say "positive, negative, positive" which is where they mess it up. People remember most the last thing they hear and if the last statement is "but overall you're doing pretty good" they never make the change. Your example is great because it reinforces the lesson.
