I can't afford these guitars. I can't imagine a world in which I can justify buying one. But it fills me with joy to know they exist and to hear Pete and The Captain play them.
@John Smith thank you, John. Please tell my wife! Also, I could mention that because of lockdown we couldn't go on holiday this year, so technically we've saved thousands!
@John Smith Sim only phone. No fancy computer. Nothing on the rest. Happy for those who have different priorities. Love my budget/used guitars. I'm probably not the only one here. Love watching Pete play the expensive ones.
@@telecasterbear I love 70's Fenders they get a lot of abuse but one of the nicest Strats I've ever played was a 78 sunburst with the black guard!, Also its my favourite look on a Strat.
I'm convinced that most people here love relics, the people who comment though are the ones who don't like it. The lovers just sit here drooling over the beauty of these guitars
Watching this having owned a Polar White maple fretboard Fender Player series Tele for two days, and I’m already in love with the feel of a Tele. Damn that thin line is a beauty.
I must be early. No one has started hating on paying more for a new guitar that looks beat up. Personally, I love them. I just wish I could make them sound like you do. I used to wish I could play like Pete but I'd be thrilled to be sounding like the Captain. Lee's playing is seriously good! Clearly he didn't waste his time during lockdown.
Jaw dropping relicing. The pink and thinline sounded just.....just... magnificent. Great solo from Lee too. Sadly I'll never be able to afford a customer shop tele, but I can still dream. Great video guys.
3 years ago, I wasn't a relic fan...until I bought a Mischief Maker (Strat body, tele neck). I now own three (and looking to purchase a Nocaster) and feel the same way you both describe them.
I think Captain Lee is a brilliant host. Most other RUclips guitarists work best solo, but the genius of Andertons is the dialogue. Keep rocking'! We love the jams.
Pete went full on jazz there in intro. Nice to see even a pro goes jazz occasionally. Have to say Lee’s playing has come on in leaps and bounds since the channel started.
Resisted the Tele for years but when I finally got one, it all clicked. It's a graduation guitar. You buy one when you're good enough because it will show people how you play. Love the new ideas on this batch. Next up for Andertons spec, a humbucker thinline?
Love relics. I'm with you guys. Really digging the Thinline, can't go wrong with that. It's a no-brainer color-wise. What surprised me is how much I like that pink. Gorgeous. Love that you guys do what you do with Fender.
We don't need roadworn guitars, we just need all guitars to have nitro finishes so they end up looking like this naturally, none of this poly junk we have on every guitar now. Saying that, these are some fine looking guitars.
Depends if you're talking about the thick gloop of polyester or the thinner polyurethane that is applied to more expensive guitars. Not everyone wants a 1950s nitro finish ya know? It seems to be rammed into guitarists on forums that nitro is 'better' when it is merely a finish option. If you want a stinky fire hazard that will never fully cure but WILL age, crack and yellow to look like a vintage guitar over time then nitro is your thing. If you want a more protective, shiny and modern finish that won't crack or yellow over the years then poly is your bag. I have both and like both.
My friend Mike who plays with Pittsburgh Band " The Rowdy Bovines", has offered his services for "cheapo" relicing.Basically you send the guitar to him in Pittsburgh, with enough moey included so he can buy lots of liquor.Leave it with him over the weekend and voila ,a guitar that you may be able to decipher the original hue.For more extreme relicing a guy in Florida named Dale will shoot your guitar one or more times.Which seems a little crazy ,but on second thought, actually very appropriate for Cowboy Bars,Gangster Parties, and Military events.Great Jam!.
That's totally fine if you ask me. One of my strats is an old Contemporary Stratocaster with a Kahler Spyder vibrato system (I refuse to call these things 'tremolo systems'). It's a beautiful guitar, but the previous owner put in two high output humbuckers and I hate them. So now I'm thinking of installing a P90 in the bridge position and a filtertron in the neck position. I really do believe that thát could be absolutely brilliant sounding. 😁
Tele with TV Jones Classic pickups are so good, I have the orange tele thin line parallel universe 2017 with white binding and its my favorite of my three teles. The green and silver look and sound great!! Whoever can afford those will enjoy greatly I would hope.
I’m selling my 2017 CS Tele Custom 60 with TV Jones. Its Orange Gretsch finish would be a perfect match with your Thinline. Way more affordable than those relic and in a minty shiny NOS finish. ;-)
I think I finally get the deal with telecasters. I'm not such a fan of the twang but where they seem to deliver is in allowing the artist's touch to really shine through.
Nooooiiiiice !!!! Love the tone too. Those Jonesy pickups have a nice midrange cream with top popping out. These pickups are ever so slightly peaky and twangy. Love these guitars to bits !!!
Ha ha, that intro reminds me of when I sat in an Anderton's practice booth and trialled a Cabronita through an AC15. I just sat there entranced by the raunch, playing the same chords over and over. After a few minutes my kids came in and said you could hear it all round the shop. Oops. The staff were gold, never said a word to me. Though all my car tyres were flat when I went outside (joke!)
Yes, he's turned into a really dynamic player. I mean Pete H. is brilliant but the improvement in Lee's playing over the past couple of years has been immense. I told him that he had sold his soul at the A25 / Woking Road Crossroads... Best, Pete.
mel obrien because it’s got polyurethane coating!!! You still don’t know that. You’re on every post here. You should know that only nitro wears out by now.
Love these '52 Filtertron Tele's 🤩they sound and look so rock 'n' roll. The silver one looks exceptional but the green one is nice as well. How ever the two Thinline Tele's look like fresh from the garbage 😅
I would forsure buy that grey one Pete is playing in the opener if it came with the og tele pickups. The semi hollow natural butterscotch one looks super tasty as well. I'm so tempted to adding one of these to the cart.
I can't afford these guitars. I can't imagine a world in which I can justify buying one. But it fills me with joy to know they exist and to hear Pete and The Captain play them.
Lotto win and a road trip.
@John Smith thank you, John. Please tell my wife! Also, I could mention that because of lockdown we couldn't go on holiday this year, so technically we've saved thousands!
Interesting point of view.
The fact that people will pay this amount of money for something that has been deliberately damaged causes me moral shock
@John Smith Know what you mean - I'm just relic-ing my PlayStation as we speak
@John Smith Sim only phone. No fancy computer. Nothing on the rest. Happy for those who have different priorities. Love my budget/used guitars. I'm probably not the only one here. Love watching Pete play the expensive ones.
Doesn't get any better than Danish Pete reviewing Tele's! ✔
It’s good they have a lovely case because you wouldn’t want them to get scratched or anything!!
Hehe. It does always make me smile when second hand relic guitars get listed on Reverb as being in “mint” condition! 😝
🥱
Getting it scratched would add to the look lol
Top 5 Andertons intro jam, absolutely beautiful!
Glad you enjoyed it! We thought this one needs to make the Top 5 cut... 🤘
Intro jam was pure Status Quo tele gold😍
When you have a pair of old-school teles there is only 1 thing you can play... 😉
@New New Milo you just don't like real music
@New New Milo WTF dude !!
@New New Milo Try and play it !
@New New Milo haha got piled on by a bunch of guitar dads
Pete and Teles is a combo that never lets you down.
You guys should do a Sound Like Danish Pete without busting the bank.
step 1: be good at guitar
step 2: be danish
step 3: nothing
Step 3: be purple
New Guitarists = Why would you want a 50's Butterscotch Tele?
Old Guitarists = All I want is a 50's Butterscotch Tele!
I started playing in 1975. I have been through many guitars. Now I own a 1975 telecaster.

KILLER JAM....Pete's ALWAYS KILLING IT but I'm REALLY IMPRESSED with the Captains CHOPS of late....HELL YES Cap-E-Tawn!!
The pink one 🤤 it's just jaw dropping, mouth watering gorgeous
I'm a simple man. I see Pete and Tele's, I like.
Watching this having owned a Polar White maple fretboard Fender Player series Tele for two days, and I’m already in love with the feel of a Tele. Damn that thin line is a beauty.
Andrew Collins I’ve had the same model a week also, absolute beauty
Great choice :) now lost in the world of Tele upgrades, but to be honest it feels just perfect already
Dude, lee has gotten so good! So confident sounding and fluid. Sounded fantastic in that opening jam
This has definitely become a meme. I think Anderton's should have merch with it on. I'd buy it.
Those Telecasters sound amazing... love the full crunchy twang coming from them. So nice.
Pete's connection with the Tele is very deep. The guitar really sings in his hands!

I just did. You’re welcome. Lol
@FalconerPhoto I agree. I like relicing, but chips and chunks taken from odd spots can make it look more like abuse than wear.
£4199 Sterling, LOL
I love true relic guitars, but I'm against artificial guitar abuse for vanity.
Not to mention the best R&R teacher in England helps also.
The captain says “big C” and Pete turns his head to avoid laughing at that😂😂😂 Classic !
Its not gonna be easy to take out of my mind that Thinline Tele, wow, its perfect !
22:22 onwards is just absolutely amazing, I could listen to that all day,

Thanks for the videos guys! :) Hope all of you are doing good.

THE INTRO JAM OF THE CENTURY!! It was killer and different from a lot of the other jams. Rockin!
Bring on the Quo! 🎸🎸
or not...
Lee just buy the pink one for heaven's sake. I don't think you've ever sounded so blooming good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Captain's look when Pete mentioned "that thing a thomann" was priceless 😍! Great intro guys!
Kinda stopped looking at this channel but Lee has improved so much as a player it’s fantastic
That pink one is stunning!!
TV jones in the neck, Nocaster in bridge, 3 tone sunburst, dobble binding, rosewood neck. Im in heaven.. That would be perfect.

That... was.. probably the best captain intro solo I've heard. I mean Pete's amazing and all.. But captain my captain, you knocked it out of the park.
As a long time Gretsch player, the silver Tele with TVJ's is so tempting! Bravo!
Damn these are brash rock n roll beasts! That intro was the more 70s rock thing I think I''ve ever heard on Andertons!

Too true. I play mine for a bit then pick up my 335 again because it really does make my shite playing sound less shite!
I absolutely love that green colour, I definitely want an ES-330 in that colour
Danish Pete's tone in that intro was unbelievable.
U guys r my favorite on RUclips rn. All ur vids r spot on... keep it up!

Excellent jam! And Oh Lordy, the green Tele!!!
Thanks for tuning in! 🤘
the green one reminds me of an old Lotus 7 - dream guitar, dream car
A Lotus after a bad accident. LOL.
it remindes me of Francis Rossi's Tele except he had proper tele pickups in it.. Before retiring it and now plays a green custom thing..
