Yeah, you should not speak on the top of Foley's solo, but what the guy says is quite funny: "Miles is like a dinosaur who has learned to give birth to mammals"!
It seems to be to hard to understand for people that this concert was broadcasted in TV and it is quite impossible to take away the narrator’s talk which was done in broadcasted program.
I love Miles....he ACHIEVED HIS COMEBACK after the Silent Period. His bands from 1983 til 1988 were smoking!!! From 1989 til his death, he stayed ALIVE, PLAYING for YOU, AND ME. He's still here. When I leave, IM GOING TO HEAR HIM AGAIN WHERE IM GOING.....LATER.
This concert changed my life! I have also digitalized this from VHS/Nicam, and I'm listening to it frequently. I remember how Miles just could not stop playing, they played 2 hours 45 minutes!! They started already a bit late and played well past the official 10pm, which was the absolute deadline set by authorities. but Miles could not care less (as always) :-). I still have have the impression, over all Miles' concerts/band setups of this and near era, this was the best one. Well only John Scofield is missing, but he was actually in the earlier era.... THANX for sharing
It's just great that they have this guy rambling on while that bass player is burning up the fretboard in an ungodly fashion. No, I would much rather him talk over that master musician.

I frequently visit a music store to buy sheet music. I was talking to a girl working there who plays sax. I mentioned Martin Committee trumpets. She knew about them. She said they're the Rolls Royce of trumpets. I've priced them. A 1940s to 1950s model in impeccable condition costs close to $10,000.00. It was that time period where Martin trumpets are collectors items.
Darryl Jones contributed so much to the sound, as did Marcus Miller and Michael Henderson- it’s too easy to underestimate the effect of the bass player!! I saw Miles play in 1988, and without Darryl Jones it wasn’t as good as this. Is he playing a Schecter?
It is a piccolo bass. Piccolo bass is tuned one octave up comparing to traditional bass. Of course it has lighter strings as well. Actually it is more like long scale guitar with thick strings. Piccolo bass has anyhow tighter sound comparing to traditional guitar.
