Castle Rock is a village in the Uttara Kannada district of the Indian state of Karnataka. The village is located in the Western Ghats on the state's border with Goa - at an elevation of 621 m (2,040 ft)
Castle Rock forest range office is within walking distance from the Castle Rock railway station. Castle Rock range is part of the Dandeli Wild Life Sanctuary, also known as Dandeli-Anshi Tiger Reserve.

I am an Anglo Indian who lived in this wonderful part of India in the 1950 my father was a Railway officer in charge of the Southern Railway , I also attended the Railway school, my memories are vivid and loved living there, I now live in the Uk for the last 56 yrs, but beautiful memories still remain.

The monsoon was a truly beautiful experience, we would sit around a huge fireplace and watch the lightening and thunder, the jungle would come alive with wildlife, Samba in the garden , and the occasional Tiger and black panther too, yes glorious days Gods own country .

Thanks for the beautiful video Bro. We were in Castelrock from 1984 to 1989 and my father was manager in KDCC bank. Almost i finished my childhood over there. Still remembering those golden days. It makes me wonder, there is still a house where we were used to stay ......Cheers!
