The Volvo P1800, driven by Simon Templar, alias The Saint. ... The classic image of Roger Moore driving his Volvo sports car in the 1960's TV show, The Saint
@@carmineredd1198 The white painted Volvo P1800 S used in the TV series was actually owned by Roger Moore in real life. In February 1967 he received the Swedish coupe with the British license plate ‘NUV 648E’, while on television the show license plate ‘ST1’ was used. At that time most of the 118 episodes of ‘Simon Templar’ already existed, the Volvo only appeared in a few episodes of the fifth and finally in the final sixth season of the crime series. Later Sir Roger Moore sold the car to his actor colleague Martin Benson, who played the role of Mr Solo in ‘James Bond - Goldfinger’. After various other owners, the car was mildly restored to its original condition in the early 2000s and finally acquired by Volvo Cars Heritage, who will now show the P1800 S with further exhibits of the series at the Techno Classica in Essen.

A friend of mine had one of these back in the late '80s. It was a nice car. But he couldn't depend on the thing. He spent untold dollars under the hood trying to get it to run right. It wouldn't last long. Every road trip he tried to make the car ended up on a rollback. He got so frustrated with it that one day he decides he's beaten and had enough. He and another friend pulled the engine and trans out of it and stuck it under a workbench where it still resides to this day. Back then turbo V6 Buicks were everywhere. I never knew why he couldn't keep the original 4 banger running right. All I do know, a turbo Buick V6 in one of these, is a rocket.
What an inheritance! I had a '68 for about three years back in the early 80s. I miss it still. In poor condition, they go for $6k to $15k. In excellent condition, up to $35k - $50k. Definitely worth keeping and reconditioning.

FYI. My wife is allergic to bees also. I learned a long time ago to keep a can of brake cleaner handy when I know I'm going to be around bees. Spray them with brake cleaner and they die quickly. Acetone works well too. But, brake cleaner can be sprayed. Use the straw that comes with it, and you can aim really good.
Roger Moore drove on of those in the series The Saint, that is a cool old Volvo. I picked up a 2000 s80 for 500.00 about 6 years ago that had been sitting 3 years, put a battery in it and it is still carting my son around today.
I’m 18 and knowing that I’m not the only one terrified of bees makes me feel great! I’ve had many bad experiences getting stung multiple times. Not fun
I’ve went my whole life only being stung once and I believe it was a wasp, I’m scared of them cause I feel like the fact I’ve made it this long probably means I’m allergic to them and I don’t wanna find out lmao
I got stung by a ground bee in the bottom lip once. It suuuuucked. I looked like Bubba from Forrest Gump for over a week. I also got stung on the soft spot between the thumb and finger by a hornet. Would not recommend. Swelled my arm up to the elbow. On the bright side, I got to flag traffic for a week instead of trim trees.
Extremely Shà~weeeeeet man!!! Those cars are so well built.. they can reach incredible amounts of miles.. there's one that's been all around the world and has over a million miles on it

Watching this brought back fawned memories of when I used to work at my neighbors Volvo shop. I still want to drop an LS in one of those. That would be an awesome ride. Thanks for the ride down memory lane man!!! 👍
Congrats buddy! Those cars are rare today. But if you want a fun engine in it, put the flywheel on a tiny diet, bigger intake valves, double up on valve springs, get a camshaft marked ”D”, camdrive from a marine engine and dual Weber 40/40 DCOE. Exhaust manifold got enough flow from the beginning. Don’t use bigger exhaust pipe than 2 inch, the B20 dosen’t like bigger than that. And you don’t need to change the rockers, they are made by Bacho tools. Best wishes from Sweden! 👍🇸🇪

Upon my death i'm leaving my lifetime's worth of unfinished projects to him.
Me, too! Maybe he can finish painting that fence that I never got to! lol
That car is a looker! Would be a good car to spruce up and make look like new again.
That model of car has a world record. Irvin Gordon bought the car new and put 3,039,122 miles on it, sadly the car outlived him.
Volvo's have a bad habit of doing that! lol
Extremely Shà~weeeeeet man!!! Those cars are so well built.. they can reach incredible amounts of miles.. there's one that's been all around the world and has over a million miles on it
You know you have to smoke that doobie... Share a last smoke with your buddy that has been gone for a while.
Very cool car. Good chrome and those fins. It’s worth money.
1st car on Isaac’s channel that I’m envious of!
that makes two of us this is quite a rare and desirable car here in the UK
Very nice. That model Volvo is starting to bring good money. Nice collector car. Please take care of it
This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to play forza horizon 4
I'm not jealous.... Much !! That Volvo is a beauty 👍👍
That’s a cool car
Isaac those cars are really cool and alot of people LOVE them. I hate to say it because you had to lose a family member in the process, but someone left you a VERY desirable car that's in great shape.
There’s some nice cars there I see a Chevy square body truck
Happy 49 Birthday Ross :) also have excellent day with work plus families & friends to share surprises with you also wishes come true and many more years ahead to also wonderfull year ahead plus almost 50th golden years ahead too! Plus Happy Easter Weekend to enjoy!
did you take a few puffs off that treat in the ash tray when ya got back?lol....
You'll note he put it back in the ashtray instead of flicking it out of the window.
@@Rattus-Norvegicus yeah i did...i would have too! lol... but im quite sure it was pretty stale and harsh!
That Volvo is the pinnacle of their body designs. Painted in black is just the icing on that cake.
Watched the whole episode and didn't realise till the last 5-minutes that the beard has gone 😭
Plot twist: It was his brother doing an impersonation.

Isaac, think more the saint from the sixties . great little car. wish I had my old one back, those cars are the vet's of the brit's.
how does one become part of your family? lol my inheritance is straight up a gold ring lol
That's more inheritance than me. Feel lucky😀
@@fusiondensity3287 😂
All I've ever inherited was mental issues and gray hair. At least it's turning gray as opposed to turning loose. So, silver linings and all. Pun intended.
@@bradyoung6663 😂 better silver than gone, that's for sure 🤙🏼
I saw one of these on Craigslist forsale. Came to RUclips to research the car and watched the whole vid. This is awesome thank you. And congrats on finding a joint 😂😂
Nice to see that car in competent hands. My dream Volvo. Pelle Pettersson knew what he was doing. A red P1800 is shown in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
One of the nicest Volvos I’ve ever seen. Nice interior, really good looking profile with the roof shape and fender lines. Reminds me of a DB-8
Watching this brought back fawned memories of when I used to work at my neighbors Volvo shop. I still want to drop an LS in one of those. That would be an awesome ride. Thanks for the ride down memory lane man!!! 👍
Probably brings back fond memories, too! lol
She's worth restoring ! Great car man .
Great little car I had a 68 in 1974 loved it they keep increasing in price every year so take care of it although if I had one today I would probably retro Rod it
Glad to hear you're keeping it. Good little car. ✌👍
Love these videos. Keep them coming!! Wanna see a road trip with the Coach bus!!
Man that is a very very nice car! Your a lucky dude for sure! My boss I worked for 35 years had a couple of those and there really high dollar automobiles and highly sought after.
