It' kinda funny because the book "do androids dream of electric sheep?" was inspired by Astro Boy. The book was turned into blade runner the movie. Now Pluto is the combination of both.

I just finished the Anime Pluto yesterday , and I argue that it is a beautiful and thought provoking series that is still relevant with it's themes and messages now in 2023. I think having Pluto come out in this era was really good timing with everything going on in the world right now . I love both Pluto and Blade Runner. Huge fan.
For me idea of presenting dark, griddy, existential story in setting of ASTRO BOY works greatly. Partly because of following reason but for me it works more same way why INJUSTICE or DARK KNIGHT return comics worked so well. We all know characters of Batman and Superman, so learning that different situation can change iconic character truly works. Same with ASTRO BOY
