Lakers vs Celtics WAS one of the first if not the first licensed basketball game with actual NBA players in a video game, for those us that as kids moving from the NES to the Genesis and loved basketball, this title was a pioneer in basketball home video games. It seems slow today, but I can remember me and my neighborhood friend playing that game to death always trying to get to those spots on the floor where each player could do their signature moves. We were like 16bit rocks!
NBA Showdown '94, i once broke the backboard with Tim Perry of the 76ers; NBA Live 96 had a cool glitch where you could have more than the allowed create-a-player limit by typing in names already premade in the cartridge database (legends and 1995-96 season rookies) and not altering anything.

We used to make custom players for all the friends, put them all on a team, set it comp vs comp and route for our guys.
I played double dribble on Nintendo!!!
In Barkley Shut Up and Jam, hearing Sir Charles say "gimme the damn ball" was mind-blowing as a kid! I didn't realize Marv Albert was the announcer on the NBA Action games! There's a player on UMass in Coach K basketball that could shoot 3s from anywhere on the court. My cousin and I would have to ban that team from being selected! Your final rankings are spot on. Great video!

Retro Sunday. Great review & ranking video. As usual. So glad to see NBA Hangtime get the 's rank. Most give the nod to JAM T. E. I guess they've never tried Hangtime. Spin move dribble makes all the difference. Can't wait for your football ranks. Tecmo SB III final edition & SB II special edition are both way better than original tecmo super bowl. Great vids!!

Thanks I'm glad you enjoy! :D Umm, I'm not sure. I've only ever recorded games I actually own and I no longer have a single SNES game in my collection currently after diminishing a lot of my collection to complete my Genesis collection. Who knows tho, maybe I'll do some SNES stuff sometime soon, I'll think about it! :D
