The first PGA tour will always be the best of the genesis games. It's more than graphics that make the game. This game had a feel to it that drew you into the game. Classic!
Agreed. I did like all the Megadrive PGA games, apart from the awful 96, but the first has a special place in my heart. I can hear the music now! Also loved things like the exaggerated way the ball would backspin on greens. They 'corrected' that on PGA Tour II, but I liked it as it was.
Automatic replay for cool shots was in the very first PGA Tour Golf., as was battery-backed saves. I feel this could have bumped it up the ranking a bit. I still have my original cartridge of PGA Tout Golf, and the battery is still going!
If you want a very playable version of World Class Leaderboard, you would need to play an 8-bit home computer version. The power bar works much more intuitively.
Thanks for the tip, did these vids pretty quick so I'm sure I missed something, will check it out next time I'm playing Genesis. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
@@RetroSunday I'm not sure you should put yourself through the misery of playing that game again mate. 😂 Your welcome re comment. First vid I've watched of yours. Subcribed
PGA 96 was easily the worst out of all 4 PGA games. It was unpolished, imprecise, clunky & tried too many things. Reminds me exactly how FIFA 96 destroyed my Christmas after the incredible, FIFA 95!
Did these sports videos real quick, didn't put a tonne of thought into them, good call on the putting tho I believe I talk very briefly about it in each game. Pebble Beach is a good one for sure, thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Oh really? Damn, I know a little bit about Sega channel and the games they offered. Pulseman comes to mind, not sure I recall that one tho I'll have to do some research haha :D
In regard to reading the putting greens, in PGA Tour 1 & 2, I developed a system that was ridiculed by my friends ( competitors ), even though it worked brilliantly. Eventually, they realised that it worked as I was sinking puts relentlessly from every distance, regardless of undulations, and they asked me to explain my system to them, which they used from then on.
Loved the intro music to Pga Tour Golf.......And it was my favorite one..

PGA III the best for mine.
The intro music was particularly good.
Finally someone who carries a hockey stick in their golf club bag just like me
PGA European is pure nostalgia for me. Palmer too as that was the first golf game I owned (Genny for Xmas in 89 at 11 YO)
It’s criminal to keep commenting on the quality of the actual games’ music but then not play any of it outside chi-chi’s.
Exactly what I've been looking for. Nicely put together 👆👍

Appreciate the comment. I should be back with a solid amount of content before I make the next move so stay tuned! :D
Excellent reviews mate the original pga games are my favourite
Thanks for watching and commenting. PGA Tour on floppy for IBM was one of the first games ever I remember playing :D

What about lee carvallo's putting challenge?
I'll be reviewing that alongside Bonestorm at a later date, stay tuned! :D

You've selected Power Drive, may I suggest Feather Touch?
Pretty sure there are 4 courses on World Class Leaderboard. You just have to change it in the settings

PGA 2, PGA European tour, PGA 3 are the best. Pebble beach is short but not bad.
I wasn’t keen on the white sand in PGA 2.
Arnold Palmer has 3 courses. US, Europe, and JP.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated! :D
Put and Putter could have been considered. Pebble Beach is the best though. No argument there.

@@RetroSunday haha. No, Put’n’Putter was a Sega Channel game. Also on a Sega CD collection and the Master System.

@@RetroSunday it’s a very simple but fun game. As you included Crazy Golf - it’s technically a golf game.

What is this system you speak of. I must know
👍 video 👍
How can you have Arnold above any of the EA ones? That's a head scratcher.
please balance your audio lord.
Name is Dylan, but I'll settle for lord. Prolly could have been better. Better luck next year :D

I’ve been looking for a Genesis Mod that has all of these golf games on it
Anyone know a mod console that carries these?
Make your own
What’s a “mod console”? Are you talking about running emulators?
