Totally agree, & to think it will be gone after Season 8, is not only a disgrace, but also heartbreaking. And the reason being, it's in the hands & decision of the new Program Director of Starz, Kathryn Busby. Pity of it all, Busby will be a flash in the pan, proving herself as a mover & shaker, making changes. Then she'll leave Starz & move on. The end of Outlander is all on her shoulders.
Claire's encapsulated imagination is so well written and rich of symbols and details. The obvious are Jamie's warmth and protection, the lyrics of the song, the vase=home, the orange=sacrifice, the dragonfly=marriage/continuity, the rabbit=hope/(off)spring, the painting of frasers ridge=life plan/work, the family support (even from Murtagh, but Brianna+Roger+Jemmy absent on their journey), the fraser clan tartan plaid (which covers the couple also from the very first beginning on the horse back, and shields Claire after the witch trial and protects Jamie on the chariots to the abby after BJRs torture and to lallybroch after the battlefield of Culloden...). But also well prepared are the clues as the architecture of the imaginary house refering to the architecture magazine in the boston hospital rest room, the reference to the first flight to the moon in 1969, the blue thistle tapestry of lallybroch's laird chamber, the water drops refering to the hidden apoplex neighbor, Fergus with both hands, Jocasta with eyesight, the modern risks of circulation causing a previous discussion between Brianna and Roger, who in fact got stuck on their first attempt to reach modern times...great script!
Brilliant & heartbreaking in every way. This episode just brought their journey together & wrapped Clare in the love & security of Jamie & the family. All this while she is brutalized. It was so intense & difficult to watch. Caitriona & Sam brought this episode to a level of acting that cannot be surpassed. They are both magnificent. Not in this clip, when they were back home just on bed next to each other. It was so raw & loving at the same time, what devotion. There will never be another series that could surpass Outlander. All made possible by the brilliant Caitriona, Sam, writers & crew. Just in total awe of all. Love Outlander to my very core.
Big clues dropped for me was that everyone is dressed as if they lived in the 60’s… except for Jamie. AND, everything in Claire’s mind were memories of her own… except when she turned and saw the rabbit, and the scene switched to Jamie at Culloden who also turned to the side and saw a rabbit. Claire never saw or knew of that. That’s the only part of her dissociative vision that’s completely separate from her in the whole entire scene. 🤔🤔 I’m wondering if it’s part of what will eventually tie into him watching her from the window when Frank saw him and then he disappeared.

The power in this is unmatched...the love story of these two exceeds anything I've ever seen. It is what we would all hope for in a partner. The tears were steady but i appreciate how they put the episode together. One that will stick with me forever.
I loved how Jamie knew immediately what had happened to Claire when he found her and he was so gentle and kept space between them to be respectful of the trauma she had just endured
That episode of Outlander was very brutal. It was very difficult to watch. I remember Sam Heughan actually commenting about it on Twitter before it aired and the disclaimer before the episode about sexual violence and the sensitive nature, I had to brace myself. I love the choice of song used for Claire's "safe place" while she's enduring the attacks. Jamie's love and compassion for Claire is enduring and beautiful, this song is very fitting for this love story. It definitely stands the test of time.
The more I watch this video, the more I just absolutely love how the visuals of what Claire sees in the “escapism house” is tied back to the previous seasons that it was shown in! Very little voiceovers, no “word overs” and the song takes you through the video like butter. There just is no love like that of Jamie and Claire, this equal loving partnership is something we all need to aspire to.
Jamie and Claire's love will transcend time and space, to infinity and beyond. I wish Murtagh was there to meter out his share of revenge and justice for Claire. It would have been icing on the cake. What they have is a timeless, eternal love.
season 5 was powerful and heartbreaking, many tears , this whole show and the relationship with Jamie and Claire has opened up our longing and trapped emotions to desire a love like theirs, Sam and Cait are beyond talented and that is evidenced by the fact that other couples in the series can not even come near their chemistry, I could not ever watch this show if Sam and Cait were not in it

When ignorant reporters asked John what they were doing in bed his answer "Just trying to get us some peace" seems appropriate here.
I suspect that the Lennon/Ono pic was the inspiration, as Claire had dissociated during her (earlier in the episode) traumatic experience, and those images were of the family in the 60’s (the last decade in which she lived in the 20th century). The whole episode was masterful, in my opinion.
Blue, I had that thought too. Especially since Claire's mental escape seemed to be set in that time (60's). I guess any of us can time travel (to the past anyway) by using his imagination and/or memories.
There's so many references to The Beatles throughout the book series! There's several chapters that are titles to Beatles songs and I remember reading somewhere that Diana is definitely a fan!

Absolutely loved the sixties house with all of them there. The Easter eggs were the best. Jamie’s speech to Claire made my heart jump. No better love story than J and C.
This scene in Mid Century Modern is a breathtaking experience. It was truly a dream seeing all of our favorite Fraser’s together for a holiday gathering. Many of us remember coming home and seeing our loved ones dressed in the late 60s early 70s as well as the home decor and music. The whole experience is vibrant, rich, warm, cinnamon apple, groovy and genius, nostalgic and genius. Hygge 🍂

I wish there are more Jamie’s in the world who loves without bailing out and loves with his whole life and fight for his “Claire” with no hesitations n reservations. Although the finale is so brutal and offensive, makes one emphatize with claire. So brilliantly executed! When is season 6 coming out? Cant wait to see them again. I loved this song! I bought it back in 1968 and still have it....what a fantastic love song! I knew what was to happen to Claire, and I didn't want to watch the episode...but, they filmed it brillantly..I loved how the 1968 was blended in with the 1770's ..I really liked how Claire was envisoning everyone she and Jamie loved, were all together, all together in her present, except for Roger, Breanna and Jemmy..I felt like they had all gone through the stones and were waiting were them. I like seeing all of the cast dressed in 1968 clothes etc. The episode was violent, but not as violent as I thought they would show it. Just a perfect opening, and of course, the say again, that great song, Never My Love! Oh, I was hoping they wouldn't kill the time traveller guy....but, he didn't help her either..

That tartan is indestructible! It wrapped Jamie after his "ordeal in hell" with BJR. Now again it wraps Claire as Jamie carries her. What a great song for this episode! I love her "mental escape". It could be a spin off show--"the Fraziers--love surpasses time".

This particular episode is very relevant to those who have experienced abuse. It encapsulates the horror but in a beautiful way, and that’s very hard to say.
I’ve not seen the finale yet, but when looking through Outlander’s listing on the IMDB I saw the title “Never My Love.” Wow! A most appropriate song. A classic song for a classic love story.
I love it. ❤ I would've liked to see the moment at Lallybroch when Claire first told Jamie she loved him. That would fit in beautifully with her saying "I love you" from the end of this episode.
One of the hardest episodes to watch, but brilliantly done ...the cinematography; the symbolisms... the orange, the rabbit, how everyone was in “the 60’s” except Jamie.. I got chills when I watched this last episode from the beginning. My husband and I are musicians and we were playing guitar and singing never my love because I remembered what a beautiful song that was. Then 15 minutes later we turned on Outlander to hear the same song we freaked. Had no idea the song was in the last episode or the name of the episode. Still have chills. What a great episode. So hard to watch and so brilliantly done. Outlander was calling us big time. You can’t make this up. Wow my favorite show ❤️ I also love my Scottish husband ❤️

Never My Love is one of my all time favorite songs and the fact that they used it for Claire's disassociation was perfect for me. I understand and relate to Claire a lot. This episode was both difficult to watch and deeply moving. Droughtlander during a pandemic is gonna be rough. Guess that I will rewatch all seasons for the 5th time!

I got chills watching and listening again! I absolutely love this episode.
This is the best epic love story i have ever watched! I wish there are more Jamie’s in the world who loves without bailing out and loves with his whole life and fight for his “Claire” with no hesitations n reservations. Although the finale is so brutal and offensive, makes one emphatize with claire. So brilliantly executed!
When is season 6 coming out? Cant wait to see them again.

I loved this song! I bought it back in 1968 and still have it....what a fantastic love song! I knew what was to happen to Claire, and I didn't want to watch the episode...but, they filmed it brillantly..I loved how the 1968 was blended in with the 1770's ..I really liked how Claire was envisoning everyone she and Jamie loved, were all together, all together in her present, except for Roger, Breanna and Jemmy..I felt like they had all gone through the stones and were waiting were them. I like seeing all of the cast dressed in 1968 clothes etc. The episode was violent, but not as violent as I thought they would show it. Just a perfect opening, and of course, the say again, that great song, Never My Love! Oh, I was hoping they wouldn't kill the time traveller guy....but, he didn't help her either..
Joy, genuine affection, terror, pain, hope, sympathy, compassion, Cate/Claire's eyes can evoke it all.

That tartan is indestructible! It wrapped Jamie after his "ordeal in hell" with BJR. Now again it wraps Claire as Jamie carries her. What a great song for this episode! I love her "mental escape". It could be a spin off show--"the Fraziers--love surpasses time".

This particular episode is very relevant to those who have experienced abuse. It encapsulates the horror but in a beautiful way, and that’s very hard to say.
I’ve not seen the finale yet, but when looking through Outlander’s listing on the IMDB I saw the title “Never My Love.” Wow! A most appropriate song. A classic song for a classic love story.
I love it. ❤ I would've liked to see the moment at Lallybroch when Claire first told Jamie she loved him. That would fit in beautifully with her saying "I love you" from the end of this episode.
One of the hardest episodes to watch, but brilliantly done ...the cinematography; the symbolisms... the orange, the rabbit, how everyone was in “the 60’s” except Jamie.. Catriona Balfe - give her an Oscar, even though not an award for a TV series... kudos to the Outlander production team, the actors... it was heartbreaking to watch... well done! 👏👏 .. ...and thank you to the editor for putting this video together .. beautiful! ❤️

I got chills when I watched this last episode from the beginning. My husband and I are musicians and we were playing guitar and singing never my love because I remembered what a beautiful song that was. Then 15 minutes later we turned on Outlander to hear the same song we freaked. Had no idea the song was in the last episode or the name of the episode. Still have chills. What a great episode. So hard to watch and so brilliantly done. Outlander was calling us big time. You can’t make this up. Wow my favorite show ❤️ I also love my Scottish husband ❤️
I would be so excited about that. lol There's something very emotive about a fictional world containing music you recognise, like it makes the story and the characters seem more real somehow.

Thank you for this! I hadn't put all of the flashbacks together, down to the orange. Thank you for composing this and reminding me. This episode stuck with me and triggered me. Never My Love is one of my all time favorite songs and the fact that they used it for Claire's disassociation was perfect for me. I understand and relate to Claire a lot. This episode was both difficult to watch and deeply moving. Droughtlander during a pandemic is gonna be rough. Guess that I will rewatch all seasons for the 5th time!
