2x2 is great if ya just need a couple oz every few months. strain dependent but 4-8 ounces is very do able. get them 10-12 inches tall drop a trellis net, fill out every hole, remove errything that won't reach trellis net by flip and enjoy. just need a lil tsw1000 or some shit
I got to say nine plants in a 2x2 man forget about a 1 gallon pot just run a cube and a flood table I think that would probably be most efficient with that setup. Like I'll give synthetic Growers credit where it's due when those dudes get them dialed in like they can do some amazing things with any pot size and medium.
It's about the grower not about synthetic or organic. There's levels to this grow game. People that have 5 years or less of growing are still at the experimental stage of growing. Then you have another level of growing which are people that have 20+ years of growing, own and read 20+ grow books, own several grow DVD and have hundreds of hightimes and cannabis culture magazine. These people don't own a ph meter anymore and have grown in all types of medium from hydro to soil. Again it's all about the grower. It has nothing to do with synthetic or organic. There's levels to this grow game.
This guy being interviewed is still talking about having problems. That will tell you that he's still a newbie grower which is cool as everyone had to start there at one point.
@@titaniumskunkogkush4365 I'm one of those people with all those grow books and DVDs and High Times magazines I just don't have 20 plus years yet. I would grow autos outdoor in Canada because of length of season. But I grow photos indoors. I use 2×4 tents, 2 plants per tent. The 2-2×4's seem to take up less space than 1- 4×4 and maintenance is easier.
✌❤from Arizona. Been legal here going on 3 years. Started growing afterwards. Were allowed 12 plants. We have 3 marshydro 3×3 tent kits. 4 plants a tent is just about right. 5 gal buckets.

I had the same setup. My XS1500 kept my tent around 86 with a 4" exhaust. Im thinking about getting the SE3000 Spider Farmer. It has a removable driver and the latest LED diodes.
Question? I've heard that a light mover can get you 25 percent more. Does that mean a 480 watt light plus 25 percent equal 480 + 120= 600 watt light. Or is it the foot print. So if you had a 3*6*6 tent you could use the rail to have fully light the tent. Where previously you would use that light in a 3*3?
Essentially, a light mover allows you to have the light closer to the plants without the risk of burning. Since the light is constantly moving over the canopy, you will get much better coverage and since its closer to the canopy, you get deeper penetration, which leads to a better yield, you're right on point with the 25% increase, as long as everything goes smoothly. A 300w led on a 3ft light mover would cover a 3x6 nicely I would think.
I use coco bricks from Home Depot. Burpee brand. Under $3 per brick. I do rinse and buffer. I also reuse and only re-rinse if the last run was pretty compact. Eventually, after maybe 5 runs of reusing, I get a weird pH swing that is difficult to get rid of. That's when I bust out the new bricks and mix a new batch.
@@CriticalThinker27 that makes alot of sense. I want to try organics and was gonna try to use coco instead of peatmoss. But that actually makes alot of sense.
@@CriticalThinker27 Coco has: a) Better moisture release curve (which is moisture "counter pressure" from the medium) = plants can uptake water more easily as % of water in the medium is dropping down. Btw, coco chips (or wood chips in general, since coco has similar parameters to wood) have even better moisture release curve (plus higher porosity/available oxygen of course). b) It's hydrophilic = no dry pockets. Peat is hydrophobic. c) Contains a lot of lignine (just like wood) which makes it more springy = prevents compaction which is one of reasons why coco has generally more oxygen than peat. Coco is a different world really. If anything I would recommend combining both plus maybe perlite or rice hulls in case of fine coco. With coarse coco it's not needed imo.
If I was concentrating on one plant I would use at least a 5 gal pot, possibly a container that fills most of the 2x2. I am a beginner with my second run in 2x2 and I have two plants with 4 gal. I added an exhale bag and hang it so the exhaust port is even with my canopy, I was able to run that viparspectra PAR 1500 light at 100% at the end of this last flower cycle 11.5 weeks!
I hear the question bags or plastic pots a lot, Is there any reason other than maybe cost or breaking as to why I hardly see or hear anyone say they are using clay pots?
As a completely organic grower, dedicated to the regenerative agriculture movement and bringing natural farming to the masses.. I can safely say in order to maximize yields in a 2x2 grow synthetic LMAO or at the very least bottled organic lol
@@kamtroy2527 So when they are supposed to bulk up, towards the end, they just don't? Doesn't exactly sound like a winning formula, no offense.... Care to share source regarding the possibility for reduction of flowering w/organics? Synthetics can grow them faster, there is no debate there. Whether that results in a better end product is the actual debate.
@@kamtroy2527 I just happen to personally believe organics to be the clear winner there, and outdoor organics consistently show higher terp counts than their synth counterparts (according to many top industry consultants). But if you want speed, and ability to max yields in a very small space, you sacrifice whatever needs to be, in order to achieve your desired goals...not everyone wants or cares about the highest terpene count, and some would rather have more grows per year, more variety in lots of smaller containers etc... This can only be done well consistently in a small area, with synths unfortunately (unless going OD with the dry soluble Organic nutes I guess rofl). Small containers doing organic/dry amendment grows just can't keep up unfortunately, even with your proposed 20% reduction (which after a year of 3+ daily hours of research I have never once heard of before your post).
@@B01 Doing a hybrid feeding of both synthetic and organic nutrients seems to be the way to go. You get the immediately available nutrients from the synthetic salts, and the microbial benefit from the organic feeding. I like to use an organic nutrient that contains some type of seed meal or protein hydrolysate, as they contain the amino acids that benefit the plant and microbial life so much. Also nice because you don't need to purchase the incredibly overpriced amino acid products.
Lol he said 9plants in a 2x2 is too much. I had 16 plants in the same space. After flowering and harvesting 7plants im down to 9plants still growing in there.
I'm growing in a 2x2 4.5ft mars hydro tent with ac infinity 4" and viparspectra PAR1500 similar to the one he mentioned? I got 147grams dry on my first run, 2x purple urkel plants. But i did notice I ran the light at about 70% at the end, because I was getting light stress. My next grow I really SCROGG'ed it out and just grew 1 big plant, chopped yesterday, waiting to see my dry weight on this one, but my next grow is already seedling, gonna try 2 more in 3 gallon pots this next run.
@@Eddie_Munster I ended up with 153g dry from the one plant. Im switching my light to the new viparspectra xs1500 pro so I can run this tent at full capacity. I think I still prefer 1 plant, but wanting a variety I might drop to 2 plants in 7 gallon tall pots.
2 plants in 1.5 gal pots cycococo and advanced nutrients and his 2x2 would be over flowing in a couple months. I started in coco and filled my 3x3 a few times with close to 260 gs. I started growing organic a couple years ago, don't get the yields but the bud is better
It’s much easier if you just plant them in a bigger container and let them stay there so you don’t trigger them to start flowering before they’re ready
It's so interesting listening to different ways of growing I personally use much bigger pots but I do get confused with the gallon I always do it in litre size pots but I think 3-5 gallon would be the best size
I grow 1 plant for a 2×2 space and was using 5 gal bags but I tried 3 gal bags last grow and it seemed to make nutrient balance easier. I think I was over fertilizing with the larger bags because levels accumulated in the soil the roots haven't grown into yet and caused nutrient toxicity as the root system accessed that soil.

Needed thissss
Lol he said 9plants in a 2x2 is too much. I had 16 plants in the same space. After flowering and harvesting 7plants im down to 9plants still growing in there.
I did 20 and it was fire but I got an eighth off each one dry lol
46:12 I was watching this while totally lit and heard this. I didn’t mean to heat it, but I did. I’m sorry, but I had a good laugh.
I had 2 plants and pulled a QP from my 2 x 2. I had 38 branches in the canopy
Dr.Elaine Ingham from the soil food web would be a great podcast.
Or one of her students Mat Powers
I'm growing in a 2x2 4.5ft mars hydro tent with ac infinity 4" and viparspectra PAR1500 similar to the one he mentioned? I got 147grams dry on my first run, 2x purple urkel plants. But i did notice I ran the light at about 70% at the end, because I was getting light stress. My next grow I really SCROGG'ed it out and just grew 1 big plant, chopped yesterday, waiting to see my dry weight on this one, but my next grow is already seedling, gonna try 2 more in 3 gallon pots this next run.
How’d the 1 plant do? I’m thinking about doing just one in my space too.
@@imothy thanks for replying. I just bought that light as well. Going to try my first run in there with 1 plant in a 10 gallon I think.
how's your xs1500 pro working? Too hot at all? @@Eddie_Munster
Light mover ? Anyone have recommendations never heard of it
2 plants in 1.5 gal pots cycococo and advanced nutrients and his 2x2 would be over flowing in a couple months.
I started in coco and filled my 3x3 a few times with close to 260 gs.
I started growing organic a couple years ago, don't get the yields but the bud is better
I’m running 3 autos in a 1.5 cubic foot earth box with no issues plants are almost 6 foot tall. Colas are big and chunky.
Look up B's comment on here. I commented some things under his thread that might help out with the yields.
@@OG_VeniVidiVici I'm not going back to synthetic. It's a waste of money
@@andrewsiasparks me either. Lol you didn’t go read the comment I see.
@@OG_VeniVidiVici what comment in particular? I don't want to read old the back and forth 😅
I think using a trellis and genetics will play a part….😉
outdoor Gorilla grow ..😇 Would be a Awesome Topic to do
Dude... i saw plants go hungry in first 3 of flower with organics...i use synganics
It’s much easier if you just plant them in a bigger container and let them stay there so you don’t trigger them to start flowering before they’re ready
@Seth Stokes
Huh??! He doesn’t do autos, he says @6:28.
Smaller containers *DO NOT* trigger flowering - light cycle does.
Why would container make it flip to flower? Stress i can understand being bad but idk bout flowering
Gorilla Glue 2 x 2. What happens when he doesn't grow Gorilla Glue?
No, Miké Scully did NOT write that. 😏
I was wondering the same thing 🤔
@@gorillaglue2x2 Heh heh. Gluuuee ga ga ga.
Wait where are you getting ounces for $100 back in the day they were 3 to 400 and they were 200 now they’re 100 oh my God I need a new plug
Not even flexing it gets so cheap at a point sometimes here in michigan you sometimes find good fire weed thats 60 to 80 dollars and ounce
thanks
Well my space is 1.5' x 3' x 5' but I'll go ahead and listen anyhow.
how'd in gp in the narrow a space?
Fimming happened to me with the jackson t5
