Wait, how was Sokka's throw on Sparky-Sparky Boom Man a fluke? It's not like he just threw it randomly. He drew out his position and threw accordingly. At that distance and angle, there's not way it would have been a garunteed shot. But just because he had a little luck on his side doesn't mean it was a fluke.

@@asiandod325 It was more like 90% skill 10% luck. He was able to get a good idea of whee Sparky-sparky boom man was simply based on the angle his fireblasts . But really had less of of an idea where he was laterally. he could have been a couple of feet to the right, and Sokka could have missed. But still being able throw a boomerang at a far target bind with only the angle of attack to reference, is just as impressive as any bending

I can see Asami easly dodging the space sword and landing a hit on Sokka with her shoking glove. Asami is more agile than sokka. We have seen Asami beaten many Chi blokers and dodging them but Sokka got easly beaten by one chi blocker. You can like Sokka more but liking him won't make him win a fight. It feels like you are trying to find an excuse to make Sokka win a fight.
I don't think it was fair to have it in the pro bending arena because sokka couldn't really use his agility and surroundings like he would

Asami's agility is vastly superior to Sokkas anyway, so I don't see your point with this.
Asami is a more skilled martial artist, while Sokka is a more skilled strategist. If it was on a battlefield Sokka would win, one on one in an Arena is where Asami takes the W
Totally agree, because it would be really hard for Asami to come close enough to Sokka, to attack him, while Sokka would be Jumping through lots of dangerous swinging swords (or airbending Slices xD) and things like this, which would somewhen hit Asami, which would Mark the time for Sokka to give her a good hit and go an.
In an Arena Asamis tactic, which is more about martial Arts and is less about using your surroundings, would be far more effective and make her winning as told in the video.

being a strategist is different than being intelligent. Einstein probably wouldn't have made a great general.
Deniz Muslu Intelligence will have a great impact on your stategies. What I actually mean is if Asami is quite intelligent, then it wouldn't make her less of a strategist.

Kind of unfair to take away the weapon Sokka has the most impressive feats with.
Doesn't fit with his continuity, plus his club and boomerang have manifested similar feats in the comics.
The sword would have offered more range, and a bit of a different fighting style for Mai to deal with considering he showed a more martial skill with a sword then his other weapons IMO
Yeah, but he chose to set it up after the events of the show. He could as well have set it before the final battle, and therefore Sokka would have had his sword =/

Sounds good, but I think that one is a little easier to call than MvA.
Ty is practically a close quarter specialist, easily able to take on Benders and nonbenders alike. If she gets one good strike in on Asami's right arm, her electrified glove becomes worthless.

I think Mai and Ty Lee would bot beat Asami. Asami was more useful for her resources more than anything. Mai and Ty Lee's main assistance was for there adept combat skills, so much so they were Azula's main crew.

I have to say sokka's boomerang gives him more of an advantage than showed here.
Hickory Bentham not really, if Asami knows he has one she might be more careful and attentive or if she sees him throw it i can imagine her stopping and waiting for it to come so that she can dodge it and continue running towards Sokka. the only way i can see the boomerang being a advantage is if it hits her in a blind spot or when Asami pauses to either scan for it so she can dodge it giving him some type of opportunity also if they are in a more environmental place Sokka would be able to make distance from Asami while thinking of a strategy to use against her.
however i dont think a boomerang can help him in a forest type setting unless if it's a open space but it still wouldnt be good for him because Asami will be able to see him. his sword or club is a better option in a setting like that but even so Asami could still go toe to toe with him. the only advantage he would have is if he she tries to shock his sword but since it's not a good conductor it wouldnt work giving Sokka a opening but Asami might realize it's not a ordinary sword since she does work with metal all the time and go back using a more tactical approach. either way Asami would win.
We all have seen how the boomerang can pull through at the very last min. Since u knw, when u throw it, it does comes back, so Sokka could keep tht in mind while fighting and cpuld try to stand his ground on the fight till the boomerang comes back to maybe hit asami. But i doubt asami could be beaten with a single boomerang hit. It would have to precisely hit her behind the head with enough force to do any damage haha.

I think it would depend on where they are fighting more than anything else.
Sokka was a guy who always thought outside the box, and he would try try to let the environment fight for him if possible.
It would have been nice to have seen Sokka fighting in some flashbacks during the Legend of Korra.

@Lockjaw being intelligent and being a good strategist is completely different so Asami being smart isn't a very good argument against Sokka's ingenuity in strategy.

Professional chess players usually wouldn’t make good generals.
Plus we’ve not seen any feats of strategy from Asami as much as we’ve from Sokka.
They both might be good strategies, but Sokka would still come out on top.

I think reach and range confers more of an advantage Antoine thinks so in the overall I'd give Sokka a slight overall edge. Back step with each club strike and hitting him with something as short range as a fist would be very difficult. Still liked the vid though, everyone is welcome to have their own opinion :)

I think even if Asami could get him with her glove, Sokka is the type of person that doesn't go down easy. It's shown many times even when he should have been defeated never gives up. She would probably walk away from the fight but Sokka would find a way to get back up. He would think of a strategy, something that would help him keep away from her glove. He would use his words and his environment and his boomerang to get her angry causing her to become rash and impulsive. She would get sloppy and he would find an opening and defeat her.

Sure he may try those things, but nothing of Asami's character suggests she would fall for it. And getting shocked by several hundred volts of electricity would put Sokka down. Again, there aren't any examples of Sokka withstanding pain. Ty Lee put him down in both Book 2 and 3.
what about all the physical comedy he has Indore over the years. it might be played off for laughs in the show, but he has been beaten, battered, and set on fire many times and just got right up with a smile.
+Antoine Bandele Maybe Asami won't fall for his tricks but as for him getting up from the electricity think about it. Since he started off as comic relief he has been kicked and beaten down so many times. Whether it’s when he goes up against Zuko the first episode or when he was hit by Tophs earth bending he’s always had something bad happen to him that caused him pain. I think because of this he built a sort of tolerance to being hurt. Combine this with his determined mindset he probably would be able to get up from her shock glove.
Sokka's use of his boomerang to defeat combustion man was no fluke, he specifically calculated and targeted using the location combustion man's blasts to determine his location and threw his boomerang at the exact angle necessary to take him out. It was all intentional and a proven use of skill and talent, not luck.

It was a little luck. But no one else has displayed accuracy like Sokka with his boomarang, maybe apart from the archers that Zhao recruited.

17 years old is not someone’s physical prime. That usually starts around 25
Physical prime as they appeared on the material. We haven’t seen any of sokkas feats in his older years so we can’y analyze those.

I've got to agree on the outcome here, sokka has definitely improved from the start of book one to the rift comic series, but I don't believe his combat skills would be enough against asami, also, can't wait for the next battle, this is gonna be awesome!!

Sokka isn't much of a fighter. He's very quick on his feet and knows how to react quickly but that can only get you so far in a psychical fight. As much as I love sokka, Asami and her training will be vastly superior.

There was one instance where zuko stated in legend of korra that sokka, tenzin and zuko himself took out the 4 most dangerous people on the planet being zaheer, pli etc when they tried to kidnap korra as a child

Sokka is a great leader but he is no fighter. He has some tricks and skills here and there but Asami is a professional Martial Artist who can take out a motorcycle rider in action and jump over people. She doesn't even need a glove.

Couldn't Sokka just use any sword? It isn't like Asami had training in any weaponry. The glove is more of a compliment to her base abilities.

@I Sokka´s fencing teacher was the best swordsman there was, right? you really think he would compliment someone, who is unable to defend against basically unarmed person? I don´t. Call me too realistic.
They both are fast and agile. Unarmed and at this age, all goes for Asami. But having a sword is a huge advantage for someone who knows how to use it. Anyone would have big problems disarming swordsman as skilled and fast as Sokka, regardless of what kind of sword he uses. Without weapon or with weapon that needs to touch the opponent, I mean, Zuko for example was superior swordsman.
MSephirroth there are huge differences with fencing and sword fighting. One is a sport and the other is to the death. Kinda different there

+Antoine Bandele I think it would be an interesting fight. Zuko can throw fire but Bender is somewhat fire resistant. Plus, Bender has extendo-arms - which can act independently of his body (see I second that Emotion). Zuko would light his beer on fire and Bender would freak out. I think you could give a hilarious description of the fight.
Sokkas greatest theory is that a battle can be one before it even starts by choosing the right playing field.. he would never agree to fight in that pro bending arena.. lok
Sokka has no chance against Asami. He's a brilliant backstage strategist and also very capable in battle, but Asami is a prodigy and learned self-defense since she was little.

I think it depends on the location. The more things like plants, rocks and cliffs, the better Sokka can fight. Asami however is amazing on solid ground. In the arena or on the streets, Asami wins. But in a dense forest or mountainregion, Sokka has a good shot, especially if he has his sword and boomerang.

Considering the fact that the Taserglove is portrayed as a one hit weapon, Asamis is in a great advantage here.
Also Sokka had no real teacher for most of his life, since all the warriors went of to war. If the duel took place with both as 22 year olds and Sokka had the time to continue training under Suki, Piandao or Hakoda the tides would turn a lot.

Dante Yazidjian Are you kidding?when we first meet katara,sokka or even ZUKO they all present themselves as relatively weak Katara hardly being able to waterbend and Sokka smart as always but still lacking skill and we know clear as day that zuko definitely wasn't a progidy. We got to see all of them work their way to the top learning new skills and eventually becoming masters it's just plain false to say they were presented as progidies they worked their asses to the top. Also Aang didn't learn earthbending in a day he had been training for several days of camera
Dante Yazidjian I didn't say anything about korra though??😅 My point was that most of the fighters in avatar weren't like toph or azula or aang they had to suffer in the beginning and/or to train hard to get to were they where and learn new skills(sokka,zuko, jet and his crew,suki,katara etc) but if we're talking about korra I think they're just as skilled only difference is they were presented to us as good fighters right of the bat without having to see how they got there so it's easy to assume they are all progidies

you forget Sokka plans every moves in the eclipse invasion, he gathers the swam guys and the scientist to make the sub. He is not only making plan but also executes it.

I agree with the verdict but I think it would be much closer fight. Also it all depends on how serious they would be. If it was just sparring match I think Asami wins ten out of ten fights. If there were lives of friends on the line I think Sokka would be able to force through with sheer stubbornes :P
And the location. As seen in Sokka's duel with Piandao, Sokka uses his environment more than his personal strength. In an arena, Asami wins, but in the forest, I have to hand it to Sokka.

Sokka fans make me chuckle. Asami takes this so easily, Sokka is a good leader but as a fighter he is nothing impressive. Even compared to other non-benders.
Legend of Korra is a worthless series but Asami is clearly better.
Not many can say I took down multiple Spain's comet soldiers with boomerang and a sword plus she is older with alot more experience from when hes comparing them and he can rake hits

Honestly, I think Asami would definitely win.
1. Asami has her charms. If they weren't in the arena, she could totally use that against Sokka like she did in the episode where they escape the Earth Kingdom airship.
2. A lot of people are saying Sokka learned from a master while she did simple martial arts classes. First off, her dad was super rich. I'm sure he found her a really good teacher. Second, even if it was a simple class, Asami had years of practice and training oppose to Sokka's week or so.
3. People say he beat the master he trained with later in life. But I mean, he was pretty old when he was training Sokka. Even with his experience, it wouldn't be as difficult if Sokka was in his mid twenties to beat him...
4. Asami was always a fighter while Sokka was originally the comic relief. Even if they did fight at the same age, Asami would definitely win.

Dino4002 MineCraft and without his weapons he would definitely be powerless, like Isabella Costa said if this was a no weapons fight Asami would still win. if Asami didnt have her glove all she needs to do is grab on to Sokka and throw him or knock him over remember she fought against Equalist who not only had weapons that could decapitate her with just a touch but were taught how to fight while Sokka wasnt taught. i dont really see him having an advantage with a sword either because like i said Asami had to deal with Equalist who had weapons like that.
