Thats why I like the scene with Opal on S4 because that was the only time he wasnt being played for a joke. And Mako, poor Mako, was just bland. Wish they expanded his detective schtick more, that could have been interesting, show off some Detective Conan-esque scenes. Especially in S4, he was barely doing anything aside being Wu's bodyguard.

The scissor kick on the guy driving the motorcycle was my favourite move that she did! When I was practicing Karate I always thought 'when would I realistically use this move?' and Asami gave the coolest scenario
I feel like it would be a lot cooler if the writers stick to her original concept, that is Asami being a spy for the Equalists but also Hiroshi Sato's daughter. Imagine her on undercover as Mako's girlfriend to get close to Korra. Then she realizes that she's on the wrong side and become one of Team Avatar.

She just says that she trained to fight since she was very young and it’s never mentioned again. Don’t tell me that she trained. Show me her training. Princess Azula Korra is not prettier in my opinion, Korra is like that one girls who has all guy friends and says stuff like “bruh” and is less feminine and Asami looks like a Japanese deity who has beautiful guy and girl friends that are also deities
2:48 that is a LEGIT *JIU JITSU MOVEMENT* RIGHT THERE! and it's animation was SPOT ON!! (no joking, it is a basic elemental move in JIU JITSU that is actually pretty easy to do and extremely effective, perfect to submit an stronger opponent with almost no force behind it). LOK Had pretty awesome details in the choreography, that is for sure.
When I saw that I could just remember having that move practised on me, among other moves. I can't even imagine being actually on the receiving end of that. We just did it for practise so it had to obviously be done well but I could tap out whenever it got too painful. Must suck not being able to tap out lol.

@@irahngio I think it's because most benders are more comfortable with mid to long range attacks which makes them suck at close quarter combat. Meanwhile, for non-benders, since their most effective way of incapacitating a bender is through close contact like chi blocking, they excell at close quarter combat like the Lieutenant. (Unfortunately, for him, his eskrima sticks count as mid-range when compared to Asami's pure close quarter.) In Asami's case, though, instead of chi blocking it's her electric glove. I guess Asami is pretty aware of this disadvantage from benders, which is why she's always charges headfirst towards a bender to close the distance between as soon as possible. But, of course, Asami also happens to be good at dodging and countering attacks, too. She almost moves in circular motion like an airbender when dodging. But if someone comes at her with greater speed or force, she uses their momentum to her advantage like that handspring she does on one of the Equalist so she'll end up behind their back. Sorry, if this is a little long, I just simp for Asami and her fighting style so much 😭 The only character I cam instantly recall who can match her in close combat is Korra
I have a lot of respect for Asami not only because she is a beautiful, smart and strong girl but also because it took a lot of courage for her to stand up to her dad when she knew he was doing wrong and then take over the company and saving it

not a lot of people give asami credit for what she's done. she went against a whole army of chi-blockers, not to mention her own father, just to do what she felt was right. although she didn't have a lot of fight scenes, she showed a lot of strength against benders. it's not easy growing up with powerful people surronding you. sometimes, you feel useless, weak, and even jealous. but asami stood her ground, and stayed strong. not only was she a very skilled non-bender, she was also a smart problem-sovling inventor. show some love! ❤️

Asami had sooooo much potential as a character, they could’ve given her some humanity like insecurities in being a nonbender much like what they did to Sokka and just made her into a Tony Stark of the group, too bad the writers just turned her into everyones love interest or LOK’s version of Appa.

Even if she loves Asami, it doesn’t convert her to lesbian nor was it kicked in. She’s still bisexual through and through. Even Brian confirmed that Korra and Asami are bisexual.
I love Asami so much. She doesn’t need development like Toph didn’t and she’s the team Normal member of benders like Sokka. She’s beautiful and caring. She’s a badass. She’s perfect for Korra ^^ (KorraXAsami forever!)
I think she is just underutilized in season 3. In season 4, she's pretty much got some highlight with her introduced as the super investor + engineer developing Republic City at the beginning and her backstory with her dad before he died sacrificing himself to save the city.
Well it did, but under the capitalism. That sort of weaponry wouldn’t be cost enough to justify its existence, why build a mech with a big gun on it when you could just shell the place with air strikes or an atomic bomb even. We’re definitely capable of making something like that exist, we have the knowledge and resources to make pyramids. But we won’t because the function doesn’t justify the cost.
As much as I like LOK (yes, even more than ATLA), the show had a bad mistake. Even thought they developed every character really well, the scenes and action for each of them were less and less each season. I mean, in first season you could never deny that Korra, Asami, Mako and Bolin were the team Avatar. But, while in ATLA all of them continued shining equal and being a team, in LOK the team didn't feel like a team anymore. They were separated most of the time and the amount of other characters in the show didn't let any of them shine. Asami and Mako got really underappreciated, they didn't develop enough, and she was such a badass that could've got really great fight scenes.

Y'all gotta pause this frame by frame to really appreciate Asami's style. The fact that she only had 2:55 minutes of fighting IN THE WHOLE SHOW makes me so furious. I was excited to see how she would fight against spirits in season 2, but she didn’t at all.
Notice how long it took for Lin and Korra to take down the Chief of Amon’s Equalists group with the batons, and how Asami took him down in a mere matter of seconds.

I felt all of Korra's friends were underdeveloped. At least Bolin got some development/plot relevance in book 3 and 4

I think she is appreciated for her smarts and badassness but you are right. if they gave her more scenes like that and more development she would definitely be a more memorable character. she is easily the most interesting character in the show she deserved so much more 😔
not a lot of people give asami credit for what she's done. she went against a whole army of chi-blockers, not to mention her own father, just to do what she felt was right. although she didn't have a lot of fight scenes, she showed a lot of strength against benders. it's not easy growing up with powerful people surronding you. sometimes, you feel useless, weak, and even jealous. but asami stood her ground, and stayed strong. not only was she a very skilled non-bender, she was also a smart problem-sovling inventor. show some love! ❤️
Bruh this girl is gorgeous, fashionable, athletic, skilled in hand to hand combat, a business woman, an expert in engineering and piloting, and can take down just about anyone she comes face to face with. All parent should place their kids in martial art classes when they're young, like bruh.

Even if she loves Asami, it doesn’t convert her to lesbian nor was it kicked in. She’s still bisexual through and through. Even Brian confirmed that Korra and Asami are bisexual.

I think she is just underutilized in season 3. In season 4, she's pretty much got some highlight with her introduced as the super investor + engineer developing Republic City at the beginning and her backstory with her dad before he died sacrificing himself to save the city.

Well it did, but under the capitalism. That sort of weaponry wouldn’t be cost enough to justify its existence, why build a mech with a big gun on it when you could just shell the place with air strikes or an atomic bomb even. We’re definitely capable of making something like that exist, we have the knowledge and resources to make pyramids. But we won’t because the function doesn’t justify the cost.
As much as I like LOK (yes, even more than ATLA), the show had a bad mistake. Even thought they developed every character really well, the scenes and action for each of them were less and less each season.
I mean, in first season you could never deny that Korra, Asami, Mako and Bolin were the team Avatar. But, while in ATLA all of them continued shining equal and being a team, in LOK the team didn't feel like a team anymore. They were separated most of the time and the amount of other characters in the show didn't let any of them shine. Asami and Mako got really underappreciated, they didn't develop enough, and she was such a badass that could've got really great fight scenes.
