The Avatar state is when all the avatars and their experience and knowledge become accessible to the current Avatar. Korra air scooter racing Tenzins kids while going into the Avatar state means Aang gets a chance to play with his grandchildren.

Is it me or General Iroh from Korra an underrated character. Not only does he command a massive fleet, but he took on 5 or 6 Equalist airships without anything, but his bending
And to think his name is Iroh but sounds so much like Zuko is cherry on top

I think Korra going into the Avatar State during the Air scooter race is a very funny but also wholesome scene. Aang created the air scooter technique, and Korra drawn on his knowledge (and power) to win the race. In a sense, Aang is winning an air scooter race against his grandkids.

On the other hand: It is cool that Korra has trained enough so she can just switch it on and off like that! As I recall, Aang was still young and required either intense meditation or emotion to do it.

Korra is hit and miss. Personally I would have liked a series that focused on Aangs kids getting into adventures with occasional cuts to the Gaang.
When you realize that TLOK has two story arcs (mostly because of Nickelodeon not giving immediately green light for more seasons).
Book 1 is a more or less self-contained mini series that actually has a plot similar to The Dark Knight Rises and also came out in the same year.
Books 2, 3, and 4 were simultaneously in production and made a 3-part story arc that is basically an ATLA story arc in REVERSE.

Nope. The Avatar State connects the Avatar to all their past lives. It gives the gives the Avatar the vast knowledge of their past lives, as well as the strength of a thousand benders. Feel free to correct me if me if I'm wrong as it has be a minute since I watched the series.

yknow its always weird looking at Kora and seeing how something lik the avatar state meant as a defense mechanism that you can't access at will without literally detatching yourself from all relationships .suddenly becomes an on / off switch for Kora to play around with.
Well…. Not all Avatars are serious people. There might be an Avatar in the past who used the Avatar state to win a sandcastle/sculpting contest.
And technically speaking, Korra is Aang so…. The playfulness is still there

The only way to access it at will as shown in ATLA is by abandoning everyone you love.

Maybe one, Raava wants to have fun after everything she’s been through or two, the Avatar State has developed enough to be actually used outside of battle. Maybe Aang couldn’t do it because it hasn’t developed enough to be able to pull it.
Take One for All from MHA for example, before the 9th user, the wielder can’t access the Vestige World to talk to the previous wielders. So maybe this is the case
Or the Avatar World has included Aang who is playful and that affected the Avatar State
@@dumbanimenerd4169 The Avatar state is a defense mechanism because the other Avatars take control and give all their wisdom and knowledge about bending. This is why you can hear several other voices when Aang is shouting at the sandbenders while in the Avatar state. So it's likely that Aang was behind her entering the state when doing the air race.

The only big problem i see in LoK is that there is too much love triangle stuff in the show
The funny thing is that creators also didn't like it. Love triangle 2.0 in Book 2 happened because they didn't actually like makorra ending (that happened only because they didn't know that they would get more seasons at the time).
I don't think it lasted long so I don't know why it is problematic for viewers
