did you listen to the "unforgiven" trilogy? "the unforgiven" was on the black album (self-titled, '91), "the unforgiven II" was on Reload ('97) and "the unforgiven III" was on Death Magnetic ('08). All three are great songs.
@@ThomasJ_Music nope, the first one was on their next album after that. You should definitely check them out. it's more than just a trilogy of song, it shows James Hetfield growing as a person (though he probably didn't think of that at the time).
From this album I think you'd also like: - All Nightmare Long - That Was Just Your Life - The Unforgiven III - Cyanide And then just keep going. The whole album is good. But I could listen to every song Metallica ever released back to back and not feel the urge to skip a song.
Any song of Metallica from the album Load or Reload, you would see another face of them. Try MAMA SAID, MEMORY REMAINS, WHERE THE WILD THING ARE, FIXXXER.
Great album! A lot of solid riffs and solos on it. Another good one off it is All Nightmare Long! Some people didn’t like the way it was mixed, but it never bothered me.
This album was released in 2008. The band was initially lauded for it's seeming "return to it's metal roots" after a tumultuous few years that saw them experimenting with a bluesy-alt rock sound on Load & ReLoad (1996/97; I love both of these albums, but get the hate they receive),doing a covers album that was all over the place as far as song selection goes (1998;also love it),the first S&M record(1999),a very public and messy break-up with their bassist of 14 years at the time ( January 2000 ), Hetfield checking into rehab and being on the verge of quitting the band whilst simultaneously shooting a documentary (Some Kind of Monster;2003) that was supposed to be a chronicle of the band recording its new album but ended up being oh so much more than that and finally releasing that album, the much maligned St. Anger (2003). The one big criticism leveled at this record is the sound of the mix, with complaints saying it's just too damn loud. The drums do sound a little flat to me as well. There are several good songs on this record, the stand out being (in my opinion anyway) " All Nightmare Long"..... Also "Cyanide", "The End of the Line" and "Broken,Beat and Scarred" are pretty good as well. Another great reaction again,Tommy!! Keep up the good work, till next time!!
Nice one! I love this song... and i dunno if the lyrics are related to the official video. Suggestion: Devind Townsend Proyect - The Retinal Circus (its a live show) 🤟🏻
@@glenseivers8318 St anger is the worst mixing i have heard but i feel the same way with that album. there are quite a lot of good songs on that album. i think its a really good album when you are having a bad day
@@horatiotwenty6569 They're bad for different reasons. St. Anger was intentionally a raw "garage" mix, Death Magnetic was a casualty of the loudness wars and would have been worse had the band not laid the hammer down on Rick Rubin to cut the foolishness and put at least a little dynamic range back on the original disc. The digital releases and the music video are mostly fixed.
The last two Metallica albums are full of amazing songs. The retail version of Death Magnetic sounds awful, and finding versions of the song that adhere to Metallica's vision of the song and at the same time respect people with intact ear drums is hard work. A safe bet is looking for death magnetic songs from iTunes, as they weren't mastered in the same way that the studio album was. The entire Death Magnetic album can be found in that way. The other alternative is to look for live versions. It differs for each song so I'll list below: Unforgiven III - S&M 2 live is brilliant but there's only James singing to an orchestra, no band. You can also listen to the live performance from 2018 in Lincoln, NE. All Nightmare Long - Mastered for iTunes mix. Amazing track, fairly ruined by the original mix. That was just your life - iTunes The end of the line - iTunes The Day that never comes - well worth checking out the version from Nimes, France. Cyanide - iTunes Judas Kiss - iTunes Example link here: ruclips.net/video/1ULL1pUR3i0/видео.html Then from Hardwired to Self Destruct: (No sound issues here, yay) Atlas Rise Moth into Flame Here Comes Revenge Halo on Fire Spit Out the Bone Confusion Dream No More All worth listening to. There's also the Ronnie Rising Medley, where they did a mish mash of classic Dio songs for his tribute album. To end this essay, listen to Fixxxer. Best thing they've ever written. Deals with Hetfield's relationship with his Dad and how he doesn't want to turn out the same way with his kids.
Album is from 2008. I've always really liked this album and I personally like it more than Hardwired. Which is their newest album. Everything off of this album is really good. Maybe try Broken. Beat & Scarred next
Unforgiven 3 off this album is stunning. You should watch the video for this song when you get a chance. This album was sort of their self reinvention after the st anger disaster. Their latest album hardwired to self destruct is better in my opinion.
I think this song is about war, a soldier in the war that awaits for it's end, "The day that never comes". But I also really liked your interpretation.
This song was from '08, right after they went back to thrash metal. The self-titled album (has Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters) through St. Anger was a whole bunch of different stuff. -Self-titled (usually called the Black Album) was groove metal -Load/Reload were hard rock albums -St. Anger was garbage nu metal. When they came back with Death Magnetic and, 8 years later, Hardwired to Self Destruct, they went back to thrash metal. With that in mind, I would love to hear you react to Spit out the Bone from Hardwired. Killer song.
First of all, I've always loved Metallica. But I must say that I burst out laughing the first time I heard the 10:00 riff and all the other bits in the end sound like a parody too. Shame because the beginning of the song is quite good.
The videos message and the songs are two separate things. It happens a lot. Most directors like to tell their own story about what the song means to them that what the song in actuality means. But in the end it doesn't really matter does it,because a song means different things to different people,so by that logic there is no wrong answer I suppose.
One of my favorite Metallica songs of all time. Something about how the instruments pull away and tell the story instead of the lyrics is just beautiful to me. You should check out The Outlaw Torn (from their album Load 1996) by Metallica and the San Fransico Orchestra. The whole show itself is incredible. A very special show that you'd probably love.
I agree with the request for "Bleeding Me", great song! Also, "Outlaw Torn" both off the much maligned Load album.
Is Load really that maligned? I mean, aside from the awful metal purists?
Metallica - Bleeding me

People are too touchy about mixes. Ever listen to Raw Power by Iggy and the Stooges? Really extreme mix, everything is in the red. I love it.
The Outlaw Torn! An epic song which demonstrates the "other side" of the Metallica sound
Please concider doing My Apocalypse from this album (Death Magnetic). Last song on the album, a real closer! Great reactions!!
Got yourself a new Sub.
Nice work mate
Thank you :D
I love the live version. Paris France 2017. You won't regret watching the band do this live.
First! Thank you 👍🏻
Listen to "The God that failed" Thumps Up!

I heard these on the Seattle 89 reaction! Great!

Give Raging Speedhorn a go. React to Chronic Youth or Fukk tha Voodoo Man.

The song is about the oppressed half of a domestic cycle of violence.
The video is about breaking cycles of violence in general.
