    I was so excited to see this come out from Ford as a crate engine. But…. sub 20,000.00. I hope that includes a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission and the computer to run it. Please don’t price this engine out of reach for the average car guy that wants a factory - built by Ford Crate engine.
    Thanks for always Great Content!!!

      @TheFogLakeshore 5 месяцев назад

      7.3 block is $1500. The 7.3 FordPerf crate motor is $8500 no acc. or computer. Computer and harnass is $2750. No transmission. He says 'Turn Key', so that means you get their computer and tune but no transmission. Starter and acc. cost ~$2000. So I'd guess it's gonna be a $15,000 turn-key crate motor w/o transmission or acc. Run on an angine stand is what it sound like.

    Some of you guys miss the point. Not everyone is willing to build an engine. I've been down the buy a used block, pay the machine shop to deck, align bore, and blueprint short block (of course assembly too), and then find heads (2.02 for SBC), intake, carb, headers, ignition, and I realized very quickly, and once I was past the point of no return, that I should have just started with a nicely built reliable engine WITH A RELIABLE WARRANTY.
    This 615 build leaves you wide open for another easy 100hp - thinking cam and tune would be the first thing to do. Yes, warranty is done at that point. So what the heck, enjoy your 615hp engine, run the crap out of it for a year or so, then by that time, the aftermarket will be more robust and you'll have more choices.
    It's tempting for me. At the same time, I'm caught between going more old-school and building an FE or a bored and stroked Windsor. All I want is a nice clean 600-650 engine hp. I definitely want a great sounding engine, especially idling. I have no idea what this new Megazilla will sound like - and I'm not expecting much either. But there's no question that the Godzilla is a great platform and we're going to see big things happen with it. The packaging is especially appealing.

We are probably in the last years of the powerful gas engines so each manufacturer must give his best, to be remembered as "the best of that era". • @Frank289100
      @Frank289100 Год назад

      THE EATING UP OF THE CAM AND LIFTERS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 7.3 ENGINE DESIGN. THE ROLLERS ON THE LIFTERS ARE DELAMINATING BECAUSE THE AFTERMARKET COMPANY THAT MAKES THEM FOR FORD IS USING INFERIOR METAL WITH MANY IMPURITIES IN THEM. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE DELAMINATING AND DESTROYING AND EATING UP THE CAM SHAFTS. THE SAME GOES FOR THE CHRYSLER HEMI WHICH IS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. ON CHRYSLER'S END IT'S THE POSITIONING OF THE CENTER HOLE ON THE ROLLER WHICH IS NOT TRULY CENTERED. WHERE THE ROLLER SLIGHTLY WOBBLES UP AND DOWN AND OVERTIME WEARS THE NEEDLE BEARINGS DESTROYING THE CAMSHAFT. CHRYSLER'S PROBLEM IS MORE OF A MACHINING ISSUE WHICH IN FORD'S CASE IT'S A MATERIAL ISSUE.

You could probably build a 1000hp 580incher for 20k to run on pump gas if you wanted. I look forward to what guys can do with junkyard pullouts though. For the high price of $20k. A LSX 454 long block is $14k and can easily source parts to get running for $6k or less just saying.

      @@nastyfox9967 That's all you Ford guys ever say "Ford makes more hp with less cubes". You leave out it costs alot more compared to a chevy that's my point. Not everyone wants to make the most horsepower from the smallest cubes. They want something reliable without breaking the bank and still makes damn good power. Have fun pissing away money on you're Ford junk.

      @@nastyfox9967 🤣 God you're a dumba$$. Not everyone that does LS swaps is a Chevy person. I've seen ford guys LS swap Mustangs. For example Mustang lifestyle on RUclips is doing a LS swap in a Fox. If Ford is so great why have I seen GM auto transmissions behind Ford engines?
      This is what I will do I'll stick to my Chevy's you stick to your Fords and I don't give 2 shits about your opinion.

    20K is still a butt load for a pushrod V8. There is a lot of other costs that need to be added to actually get it installed and running.

    Worst part is still has truck pan on it for this price so still won’t work in a car.

      Indy Power Products and Willis Performance are the go to folks for the 7.3 stuff. VERY lame attempt by Ford Performance to make a "performance" engine.

    There still isn't ANYONE with a clean option to get one in a Fox.
    Think about that.
