Worst false bill of sale ever: Atom Egoyan's Exotica [1994] is a brilliant drama that examines grief and trauma, centered around the intersection of stories between a man whose wife and daughter were m*rdered and a closeted smuggler of exotic bird eggs. But because it was 1994 and part of the story takes place in a strip club, they tried to drag in the erotic thriller crowd with the tagline, "In a world of temptation, obsession is the deadliest desire," which is relevant to exactly nothing in the released film. If you listen closely, you can hear Egoyan's eyes rolling to the back of his head.

Xmen origins: Wolverine - it was marketed with shots of WW1 and 2, which only made up the opening montage. Reign of Fire: was sold as a massive war between humans and dragons. (Still very good though) Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - shots in the trailer were literally the last shots of the film setting a sequel. Both awful.
Highlander Endgame…. The original trailer had portals, TK, the villain split in two… come the movie.. just another basic sword swinging immortal, he just swung …. Better?
Transcendence … Trailers made you think about a epic scifi movie against a rogue artificial intelligence that destroys humanity through electronics.. instead we got a romantic sleepfest drama.
Also, "World's Greatest Dad", Williams fakes his sin's death by hanging. Soon after, Williams hung himself. So that makes the movie even a harder watch, knowing what was coming.

I don’t even need to watch the video. #1 should be “Angels and Demons,” hands down. The trailer for that movie is a LIE, pure and simple. The trailer’s voiceover is from a character who isn’t even IN the movie and who is describing events and motivations that are impossible (as proven when the big reveal takes place). Jaden's character wasn't supposed to have charisma (recall Dad's character in I, ROBOT, who was too cool for suspense - or, indeed, character), and looked like he could easily fail (however unlikely that would be in a plot - but it's something M Night is good with: Setting up characters for apparent likely failure); he had growth to do. It's an inflated nepotism beef like GODFATHER III
I remember when I watched Hercules I was... VERY dissapointed when they told that 12 labors was a lie. I was like "Then WTF this movie is about?!"
I'm glad I never watched Terrabitia, I hate stories about something wonderful that happen only in imagination of characters or in a dream or in a mind of mentally ill girls (hello Sucker Punch).
Careful what you say about Will Smith. He will slap you.
You mean be careful what you say about his wife.
Sucker Punch.
The trailers and everything leading up to the release made me think I was gonna get some gritty steampunk fantasy action film ... so when I realized it was just girls dancing in an orphanage and imagining it I was so disappointed. Idc how good anyone thinks it is. It was a clear lie
Xmen origins: Wolverine - it was marketed with shots of WW1 and 2, which only made up the opening montage.
Reign of Fire: was sold as a massive war between humans and dragons. (Still very good though)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - shots in the trailer were literally the last shots of the film setting a sequel. Both awful.
I had 4gotten that Sir AH was even in MI2--hehehe...AE I actually luv'd that movie, it was a best of WS 4me, until his Oscar Debackle... ;p
Highlander Endgame…. The original trailer had portals, TK, the villain split in two… come the movie.. just another basic sword swinging immortal, he just swung …. Better?
I was disappointed that there was no fourth Heather.
Transcendence … Trailers made you think about a epic scifi movie against a rogue artificial intelligence that destroys humanity through electronics.. instead we got a romantic sleepfest drama.
Has anyone taken in by the trailer of "Bridge To Terabithia" ever read the book?
And then I told the producers to make the trailer up entirely from the first act (those who know :) )
Also, "World's Greatest Dad", Williams fakes his sin's death by hanging.
Soon after, Williams hung himself.
So that makes the movie even a harder watch, knowing what was coming.
Pan's Labyrinth. Depressing, dark, dreary slog of a movie portrayed as worth watching.
Oh no, Mr. Bill.
Hercules was pretty good, it showed how the myth was elevated
The SpongeBob Movie 2?
Drive’s trailer is why I didn’t see it
As bad as after earth is, it can't hold a candle to bright.
Currently being lied to with the Wicked movie marketing and Media... no where does it says it is part 1 i.e. like the did with Harry Potter and Deathly Hollows in 2010-2011
And least those parts were out within 9 months of each other. The Wicked movie is sgow 1 year between the two parts. It makes me hate Hollywood even more 🤬
Y’all REALLY need to stop putting Bridge to Terabithia on these type of lists.
Why?
I don’t even need to watch the video. #1 should be “Angels and Demons,” hands down. The trailer for that movie is a LIE, pure and simple. The trailer’s voiceover is from a character who isn’t even IN the movie and who is describing events and motivations that are impossible (as proven when the big reveal takes place). What’s worse, they actually CHANGE the assassin’s line in the trailer (compared to the actual movie) to trick the audience into buying the Illuminati plot. WORST. TRAILER. EVER.
The Twelve Labors is a myth.
Hercules is a myth, thought.
