EDC Update May 2015: New Way to Carry Crap

- I have yet to run into any of TNPr that has more EDC capability than I do ;-) I say this only to advocate the use of a fanny pack... a light, trim one as shown here is the ticket. It remains the #1 way to make sure you have all your important stuff with you at all times. It easily fits into motorcycle tank bag, backpacks, and carry bags too. And now my new fannypack of choice is even better. From top to bottom, TacticalDoodle and myself sit at the table and but on each other’s EDC preferences and justify their choice. There’s no way we show every knife, gun combo we use…no time. But we show some core selections that we are carrying nowadays. The new carry pack I use rules and it’s the main reason I’m doing an update; order quick if you want one because it’s discontinued.
2018 Update: I do not recommend anyone purchase anything from REI anymore, including this fannypack. REI has a corporate policy that is decidedly anti-gun, anti-self defense, and anti- 2nd Amendment.
Theres needs to be more videos like this. Honest, genuine dad and son hangin out with cool stuff and just being a dad and son. Absolutely loved it. One day I hope to have a relationship with my son like this.
So are you guys just hanging out pant-less making this review? Nothing like a little free balling to strengthen the old father son bond.
MrMustang990 lmao when he was like "pop em off throw em on the table" uh what? hahaha
MrMustang990 At least we shaved! -nutn
nutnfancy together?
MrMustang990 Skivvies knife?
BTW, I just ordered that Blue Al Mar…Love it!
I too carry a fanny pack! When camping.
Alone.
In the wilderness.
At night.
Well it's time to check into the Nutnfancy EDC system, done about every two years. It's pretty consistent and proven to the point but new philosophy is shared in funny fashion with TacticalDoodle and I'm excited about my new fanny pack...seriously!
+nutnfancy - Very cool EDC video. They are selling Paracord Bracelets for $1 at the Dollar Tree Store at this time. I did a review on the Bracelet. Thanks nutnfancy.
+nutnfancy Does that glock tool fit in reset buttons?
Its a good thing I don't hang out with you two more often, because I could NEVER keep up. All the rapid-fire jokes and insults... it's like watching Gilmore Girls! ;)
Ha ha, Gilmore Girls. Good one ***** :-)
***** Holy smokes! Seeing The Late Boy Scout here is like Batman and Robin running into a celebrity every time they climb up to see the commisioner.
I like the addition of tactical doodle to this tabletop review. I loved the bantering back and forth and the keepin it real comments from both of you. I would like to see more father-son reviews in the future. I know it might be hard to find the time but I enjoyed it.
Have a juice s2, love it. Some girl stepped onto and urchin and had spines in her foot, so guess what was used!? My juice. Worked flawlessly. All my friends gave me grief for 'being prepared' on our kayak trip until someone was in need of assistance. Only problem was it fell in the ocean when my buddy tipped our kayak over. Again, thank goodness I watch these vids because I was prepared once again cause I kept in in a bag tied to the kayak. Well, cleaned it best I could but it ended up rusting in the salt air. Now the blade is a safety hazard cause it's loose and there's more rust. It does make a fine fishing tool now. Still in use after getting destroyed. I dig all your vids and take so much out of them. Really appreciate it! Rah!
My fanny pack brother... I have been rocking the same leather FP for more than 20 years. I ceased carry for a while after suffering much ridicule, finger pointing and snickers... not the ones you eat. It was... "Oh, look at the geek with the FANNY PACK Ha Ha Ha. I mean, I rocked it openly and shamelessly but for some reason the burden of constant peer pressure broke me... I put it away. I don't talk about the dark years much... please understand this is hard for me brother. About 2010 I watched a video that lifted my spirit, swelled my chest and thrust me back into the light! Thank you Mr. Nutnfancy for helping me be born again. I opened that old chest and retrieved my precious. With renewed vigor I jammed in band aides, lip balm, pen and the like. My spirit is free, mind clear and nose hairs always neatly trimmed. Thank you my good friend... thank you.
But now I call the damn thing my TIGER belt... Tactical Integrated Gear Emergency Response !!
I am a 290 pound X bodybuilder and I wear a fanny pack every day with a full size 9mm with 2 extra magazines a ZT 0-200 knife my CCW A wallet a handkerchief Chapstick and some tic tacs, Spearmint. And nobody has ever said a thing about it. Fanny packs rule. And if I want to go heavy I've got a 5.11 over-the-shoulder tactical bag.
Carey Daffern I'm going to try it. I tried many IWB holsters and I just don't like them, plus the pack has many storage areas. I couldn't care less about being fashionable. I need a simple way to store my EDC gear and the pack looks like a possibility.
Don't think people dare say annything anout your manpurse when you are a 290 lbs bodybuilder. ;p
I'm 6'2" 167lbs so you could imagine how skinny I am. I'm going to start lifting next month, going to train and eat strongman. Hope the pounds'll finally come (in muscle that is)
+Carey Daffern No Body has said anything because you are "a 290lb ex body builder" lol
+Carey Daffern not matter who stronger matter who smarter .best block no be there .never take your eyes off your the other guy . you must do the unexpected .
i'm220 60 year old man sheeple are scared of me too .sheeple are scared of anything or everything .whatever it's popular to be scared of this week .
+Guus de Jong (Blade) split wood make the work useful .gyms should be making electricity not using it .
It's great the fact you have done as much as you have with your son/sons.....and to have him still interested enough to stick with you for TNP and reviews....Great job as a Dad! and great vids too bud, thanks.
I've been hooked on your videos for a couple months now. Officially subscribed. Great work. Really opened up my mind to Walthers handguns, knives, bug-out gear, and I love the philosophy videos also. Keep it going!
I really enjoy the relationship you have. You can tease each other, but he still respects you...
Glad to see you did an update vid on your EDC. You should do an update on your heavily viewed, but 5 years old, Urban Survival Kit series of vids. USK vids are some of the most viewed vids you have put out. Products sure have changed a lot since 5 years ago. Keep up the good work.
So proud of his fanny pack...he's more excited about it than some of his gun and knife reviews, gotta love nutn haha
I have an older REI version without a name tag, but it looks exactly like your pack. I use the pack when I travel, and one of the MAJOR benefits for which I chose this is the ability to be placed on your belt, as well as using the included straps. For some areas I travel (especially highly populated urban areas), it's been known for thieves to cut the straps off of a fanny pack, purse, or messenger bag without the wearer noticing and run away through the crowd. The belt area allows me to use both ways to secure the pack at the same time, and allows for a contingency plan if the included strap fails or if I want to tuck away the side pockets/straps for whatever reason.
"The most bitchin' fanny pack", a phrase uttered no where else except TNP.
The more I EDC, the more I stay away from unnecessary redundancies. Carry simple, carry regularly, and love what you carry. If you find you can carry more and be happy, more power to ya.
The best part was the old school Leatherman. What a gem that was. I was waiting the whole video for you guys to talk about it.
First off I have to start by saying I'm a long time TNPr. Since 08. I had the pleasure of meeting you and Mrs Nutnfancy at shotshow this year. I was actually on the video you posted on the B channel with Matt from Smith and Wesson and I am the guy from CA in the shot with the guy from Lyman. I had to comment on this video though because I shockingly recognized the short clip of the campsite that you guy were in with Matt and the Bikes in the middle of this video. That's Limekiln State Park. I know that because me and my wife got married there in February of this year. The night of our wedding I camped in that same exact spot right next to the creek! Haha pretty fun how that turned out. Seeing that I just had to comment on it. Anyways keep up the awesome work that you do Nutn. We appreciate all the hard work and truth that you bring to the industry. Hope to run into you again sometime.
These are the videos I crave from Nutn, love having TD in here keepin him in check. I wish I could hit thumbs up more than once!!
It's interesting how many people care enough about the opinions of others to not carry a fanny pack. A fanny pack is a great way to carry stuff. Much more convenient than a shoulder bag if you are carrying a back pack as well. I don't care if people think I am odd for carrying a fanny pack. I am transgender and autistic. So I already have plenty of odd going on :) Adding some EDC to that is no big deal. Better to be a prepared weirdo than an unprepared normal.
purplemutantas trainwreck from start to finish lol
purplemutantas I simply have too much belly for a fanny pack. Cannot sit down if I am wearing one.
"My Cheetos carry is an M1 Garand" awesome!
nutnfancy I have the 511 operator belt. I bought it when I first started carrying concealed because I wanted a belt that wouldn't sag. I went to my gun shop, saw the belt, saw that it was real heavy duty with what seemed to be a nylon or plastic insert and bought it. Haven't worn another belt since. That was over 5 years ago and the belt has been outstanding.
please do more two man, conversational, table top style videos. philosophy vids can easily be done like this as well. im sure many ppl are loving the banter we get from the field testing vids. please bring more of this element to some of the table top vids. was awesome to see TD in a vid again, anyone weve seen in past would be a welcome addition as well.
I like how real y'all are in this vid. Fun to watch. Never had that.
I must say, I find these "Dad N Doodle" videos quite entertaining, and rather informative. Having two opinions of style, utility, design, preference and such really help to paint an accurate picture of whatever is being reviewed/talked about/fart smells... It provides a nice contrast. =]
i like the fact that you have Heinie sights on your g26. Good choice. I have the LEDGE "8" sights on mine. The front sight is thin enough to let light in so you can aim in lower lighted situations. excellent choice
wow, i'm such a dork. i love edc vids, its cool to see different ways of cramming everything we like or need into a system that works. keep up the awsome vids nutn!
TacticalDoodle, I hated carrying my Leatherman Kick loose in my pocket, but I noticed that one of the bolts that goes through the base of each tool had a hole with threads. So I looked online and sure enough, there was a pocket clip accessory. Less than $10 to my front door. I went from only carrying at work where I constantly use it to 100% EDC. The difference the clip makes cannot be overstated.
I realize you guys more or less have your own channels but you guys should consider doing more of these types of vids where you both talk about equipment. Gives another dimension to the discussions.
"I seen these German tourists in front of me and the first thought was 'Whoa, that's a bitchin fanny pack. I need one.' " - Best thing I've heard all day.
'You can fit your whole scab collection in there' LMAO XD doodle is hilarious
40 minutes flew by, you made me feel like I was going over edc with friends. As always thanks for the great videos Nutn & family.
Never thought I'd hear you say Head-Fi in a video. Love it.
I tried the shoulder carry and HATED it. I fell in love with ankle carry for backup. I'd walk 2.5 miles in the snow and never know I had it on.
YOUR BOOGER POLICY IS THE MOST AGREEABLE THING I'VE EVER HEARD
Props for the Victorinox 'Gardner' ! Same as you, I bought the two pack where it was the 'free' knife thrown in, and I like it the best. Awesome simplistic carry knife.
Love to see you rocking the single-blade swiss army knives. I've been unable to leave the Super Tinker at home ever since I got it. Two blades, one being great for food, and those great vic scissors. Cheers!
"Dude, let's get naked and show what we carry. Your mileage may vary."
It's a joke, don't ban me.
One thing I always carry is a power supply especially when I'm riding. Usually an antigravity quickstart mini. Trust after taking a quick stop while carving canyons 20 miles from anything and your bike don't start you'll kicking yourself for not buying on. They're small, light and can charge your phone and gopro
you guys are so blessed to be able to carry, I've thought about moving down south (usa) just for that reason. keep it up
TNP classic. This was a good review. I love seeing you guys having a good time.
GLAD TO HEAR YOU GUYS HAVING FUN AGAIN
Bonus points for Doodle saying "jabroni." Lol
My first "fanny pack" was a Harley Davidson branded one. I DID wear it in the 90's while touring on my 1983 FXRT while wearing full black leather clothing. It was great for toll money, wallet access.
I wore and used it daily on any ride there after. No one ever made fun of me or even snickered behind my back that I ever could tell. It was practical beyond belief.
I want this REI pack. I would def wear it. I just cant find the discontinued Lode. I cant find anything close either, that I can tell.
Can you guys do another one of these EDC updates? I love this type of video from both of you.
Heads Up - Leatherman makes pocket clips for their multi-tools. You have to take out the mini lanyard hole in the bottom, and it clips in to where the lanyard hole used to be.
I used to carry a neck knife, but with a longer necklace. Instead of around the neck, I would put in over a shoulder/neck and the blade would rest in the armpit area. Just put one arm through, then drape it around your neck. The knife is less visible, moves around less, and is easier to get to. Also the weight is less noticeable so you can carry a bigger knife.
Love your videos nutn and the relationship you have with your sons.
I am a huge James Bond fan, especially the original Ian Fleming novels. These are the true James Bond stories and the guns used throughout are very interesting. You seem to be mildly interested in James Bond so I'll lay out the basic lineage of the pistols he used.
James Bond first appeared in Casino Royale (the first novel) with a Colt Police Positive in .38 special with a sawn barrel. He tucked this gun underneath his sheets while sleeping. However, he never actually uses this gun beyond this.
Later on in Casino Royale he uses his gun that is later described as his preferred weapon since the early 40's - a Beretta 418 in .25 auto with a skeleton grip that he's taped over for traction and to hold down the grip safety.
James Bond uses the Beretta primarily for the first 5 novels but not exclusively. In Casino Royale it is revealed that he carries a .45 Colt Army Special with a long barrel in the glovebox of his Bentley and in Moonraker (3rd novel) he crashes while using the Colt in a high speed chase/shootout.
In the 5th novel (From Russia with Love) he is almost killed after fumbling to draw the Beretta out of his waistband because of the silencer he had attached to it. This was the reason given at the beginning of the 6th novel, Dr. No, as to why he had to switch to the Walther PPK in 7.65mm and the S&W Centennial Airweight in .38 Special for when he needed more firepower. The S&W is only used once, however, in Dr. No when he shoots at Dr. No's "dragon" tank. The PPK in 7.65mm is what he used as his primary pistol for the rest of the series. This was recommended to Fleming in a letter from a fan and firearms expert, Geoffrey Boothroyd. It was recommended because it was easily concealable, had more stopping power than the .25 and was a cartridge that at the time could be found all over the world.
Fleming was obviously far from being an expert on firearms but the reason why he originally gave James Bond the .25 Beretta is because he himself was issued a .25 Beretta during WW2 after he was recruited by the British Naval Intelligence. Fleming has a very interesting history himself, especially what he did during WW2.
Chopper731 Love this comment, man. Looking back it's easy to make light of the PPK, but at the time the caliber was nearly ubiquitous, and there weren't a whole ton of 9's and 45's to choose from. I kinda wish he'd do a p228, seems like a sensible choice all around, but I guess the PPK is such a classic they' can't let it go. -TD
nutnfancy
Why would he want to switch from a PPK when he's headshotting guys 150 yards away with it? ;)
Dang TD, just lost my preon and you pull that beauty out. Thanks for the update guys, keep'em comin and I'll keep on watchin.
More Doodle / Nutn tag team table tops! This is hilarious.
Fanny packs are the best. Putting stuff in your pockets pulls down your pants which can cause problems if you have to move, walk, or run. I have bad hip joints so my fanny pack has made it possible for me to carry things.
I like these longer videos where you just talk and show stuff and when tacticaldoodle is there as well, it´s double the fun. Your EDC is awesome, with this many knives IMO overkill though, I´d be interested in a list of the knives´ names because I didn´t catch all the makes and models while watching and some of them are definitely really cool and worth putting on the list or even buying ...
Hi Mr. Nutnfancy. Big fan and knife user/collector from Venezuela! Thanks to you I made amazing discoveries in the blade world. You we're the first reviewer that I respected. Have some ideas of EDC, Trailmaster mods, etc. that I'll like to know your opinion. I'll be honored to hear from you. Thanks for the time you spent reading this.
Doodle was saying that his color fill on the PPS was wearing off, I recommend using Testors Enamel model paint. It holds up well against most gun solvents, but can be removed if you wish.
Get yourself a simple Bandanna.... can be used as a Tourniquet, to clean glasses, cover your mouth if there's a fire (just don't get it wet). Another great EDC piece that I never see anyone with is a Staedler Stick-lead Drafting pencil (they're blue and I'd bet everyone's seen one at one point) with a full HB lead stick. You can use them to mark all sorts of things or write notes in a hurry, no worrying about ink and you can sharpen them with the rear-cap. Just make sure you buy the German version not the Chinese version, they really are far better quality. Oh and Carmex.... is only good for the company that sells it. It actually dries your skin out more and more with use. Go plain black/white Chapstick or the plain SPF capable type. NO petroleum products in skin care unless it's a last ditch effort.
It's funny, I've been watching TNP for a while now and I don't remember "finding" some of these products you're showing on your channel but we sure do own a LOT of the same stuff. Love the EDC vids, even if I run a different system (if I'm not in scrubs/Uniform I'm in Carharts/Riggs/Double-front work pants and I find I can stash everything in my pockets (I tend to wear a button up shit too so... more pockets for the phone/pen/pencil/Writes in the Rain pad etc.). Love the vids, looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with in 2016.
The videos with both of you in it are so freaking funny!
I wear the stryke and taclite pants /or shorts depending on weather, all my gear is in the pockets and feels great cause the pockets arent real baggy and the RipStop FlexTac stretches. Awesome vid.
One of the best videos! Love the connection and communication! Cracking SERIOUS JOKES!!
What a great vid man! Very informative and funny too. That Walther has a lot of style, even after all these years, what a beautiful gun!!!!
Great video. All positive, father and son. Impressive. I love my glock 26 but im claiming 2nd kind of cool with the 43. A mini 9mm glock? C'mon, it rocks! Fun to shoot... easy to carry, when you dont feel like carrying the thick 26. Whats not to love. Keep the vids and info coming! Nice work!
My thoughts exactly. Also imp if you're going to run a +2 or +1 on a 26, might as well go with a 19.
I have carried the glock G30 in the REI lode for a couple of years now. Keep basic things in the front pocket, like the fisher bullet pen, lighter and blistex. But main pocket has holster secured with G30. Shoulder holster is tough for business casual, but a computer repair dork with a fanny pack and columbia vest over it and nobody even notices.
Like the OG leatherman tools. I carry an old PST 2. Love it. I don't often go out in gym shorts, but when I do I'll carry a Gerber dime, But 99% of the time I got the PST2 on my belt
"My cheetos carry is an M1 Garand"
Doodle is a riot, didn't know it could be fun listening to two dudes in their underwear talking about miscellaneous gear
For its size and conceal-ability the PF9 is hard to beat! Makes a great backup gun or primary if maximum conceal-ability is your plan. You can carry it in a wallet type holster in your shorts and no one is the wiser. I just dont see a need for a .380 when you can pack a 9mm of that size! I never had issues with mine or my wives gun. My wife and I both ran them for a while with out any issues. I'd bet my life on them!
Dude, your WHOLE scab collection will fit in that fannypack? Impressive capabilities!
41:00 I LOVE my S2 Juice, I've carried it consistently since September 2013. Leatherman changed the Juice in 2014 though; now the Juice is part orange and part silver, which I don't like. They also shortened the blade, which they didn't need to do. I'm glad I got the original before Leatherman changed it out.
With the "took off my pants" and "show them our pants" comments, I couldn't help laughing at the notion you guys were doing this update in the buff. Neither pretty nor moral, but funny as hell. XD
I'm one of the "2 Dudes who'll actually rock the fanny pack" I love it and don't care how it looks. My friends and family rib me all the time (sarcastically questioning my sexual preference! lol) but I happily ignore it with the comfort of knowing my necessary gear is close at hand. And by the way......those same critics are awful happy when they ask me to borrow something and I actually have it. Rock the Pack!!
PS guys -- I love and have watched you for years. But it is time to go to 1080p and more importantly 60fps on the video camera. Once you do, you will wonder what took you so long.
It warms my heart to see a father and son sit around for some quality gun and knife time... while neither is wearing pants. Just kidding. Nice video.
Tactical Doodle has Cialis jokes, I'm waiting for those?. Videos like this are great, relaxed with humor and informative. Keep them coming please.
The wharncliffe Victorinox is the "florist's" knife. Comes in tons of colors. Makes a nice little pop of color to all the "tactical" black stuff.
Nutn'fancy... I like it shows. I'm a new sheepdog but w out cce, yet. Keep it up, n TD. I like it G.B. interview. Water video, great. Very practical.
Doodle, I can't believe you plugged hit clips! I had forgotten about those. I totally had the Nsync hit clip. You are a walking 90s, nickelodeon commercial, reference book, lol!
Omg, you read my mind. I was just thinking you needed an update to this series.
GET OUT IF MY HEAD NUTN!
Ha:)
Thanks for the vids
Thank you so much for the laughs on this video. Dad body? I'm crying here, laughing so hard!
Incorrect, not man enough to wear an EDC fanny pack. Have a real job where I don't have the ability to carry 5-10 lbs of garbage I won't use on my waist. Society has placed a stigma around men who wear fanny packs for a reason.
Of course your more prepared you carry a toolbox around your waste.
The average man finds a way to get through life just fine with wallet, keys, concealed carry, and enough cash to be happy and safe. You said it yourself, most TNPr you run into don't mess with all that bs. For good reason.
RelaxingHomestead Nice to be prepared...but yah. there is really nothing i see in that fanny pack that couldnt have been left in the vehicle. i have never been in a situation where i need my tweezers or lip balm like...right now. i would add small light and knife to your list ^^ but thats about it
I carry a MT,folder, light, lighter, cadet, wallet, and phone. And I use Everyone of those EVERY day
Wyatt Hallagin i carried a multi tool for over 10 years everyday. rarely used it though. but then i carry a full toolkit in my truck as well.
I respectfully agree. To carry a fanny pack is a little much for just going to the store however edc is just as much a hobby an overall benefit to a community. I feel better knowing others carry medical supplies to aid others. I am in no way dissing your system because it benefits good people but I would have a hard time integrating those supplies into my direct edc.
I carry ~9 pounds of water around my waist. They are called deez nuts. I'm sorry, couldn't resist. XD yes, I'm 7 years old haha.
I like the Leatherman Wingman / Sidekick as well. Unfortunately I dropped mine one time and the clip snapped. As inexpensive at the tool is I do not feel it is worth my time to return it for repair. I completely removed the clip. The tool is still small enough that I EDC it without the clip just in my pocket.
Love the videos keep up the good work.
I'm still not sure where I fall on the single vs multi mode lights. I carried a single mode Streamlight for a long time and loved it. Wanting to downsize I now have a ThruNite Ti3 and also love it. Being able to use really dim modes at night is nice...
Also I carry g26 in an ankle glove as a BUG for work. You can run with it *IF* you have it strapped around a boot which makes it stay in place better than around a sock but that requires thin boots, I wear 5.11 recons and it works well. I very rarely wear it off duty but it is much less stable around a sock vs. A boot so running with it has some exceptions.
Imho, I have had a LOT more success with a maxpedition bag and I didnt have to wear a fanny pack. Good vid, yall were crackin me and my wife up.
I carry the same leatherman with the leather sheath! I love it. My dad gave it to me ages ago after he got a custom one from his unit.
i got myself and my wife a 5.11 2-banger bag. it's not even close in size, but it's a lot of fixed places to put stuff in. fully filled, water, snickers, first aid, wallet, gloves, poncho, pepper spray, pen, light, multitool, extra phone battery, small utility and some survival items (resqme, firesteel, whistle, paracord...). everyone told me i'm crazy for carrying water and chocolate bar in a suburban environment. this until the first unexpected event, in which we needed it and there was no way to get any nearby. one needs a d-ring for that bag, and some sewing to make the strap and the padding locked. i carry it all the time, even when cycling. for others it's the "video cam bag". wife will carry it (again) as soon we found a nice reticule to fit it in. so the placement of items (pepper, light, whistle) is static.
Always love to see an EDC update!
i love the father/son dynamic you guys have
Great vid guys. Its great to see the two of you grousing each other. Good stuff.
nutnfancy your videos are an awesome resource for gear and philosophy like this, nowhere else is there a no BS resource of this level. As a Royal Canadian army cadet I would love to see a video on how your on person carry changes when you're in the field, I've been following you for close to two years now and haven't really seen much of that. I'm interested because of the comparison that could be made between your average EDC and the additions or subtractions that could be made. Also, a vehicular EDC would be cool to see, if you have a particular system you run there. If you ever get around to doing a field EDC I'd be happy to shoot back a similar video as a contrast from across the border.
personally the blades I have been favoring are the ZT0562CF with a custom blue anodized lock bar stabilizer, pivot screw and pocket clip pillar, screws now in cts204p and the Brous Blades Silent Soldier flipper G10
Love this video like everyone else seems to as well I hope to see more collaborations with tactical doodle even about you discussing topics made this video a whole lot better all around two opinions either agreeing or not gives a better point of view.
The REI Lode doesn't seem to be available anymore. Any suggestions for a substitute?
Waiting for my fanny pack in the mail right now. Nothing wrong with them. All the friends I have converted to TNPers are picking them up.
Love your edc vids ! Such great discussions on philosophy and different systems !
I remember that Nut'n isn't a big fan but I EDC the Maxpedition Versipak Jumbo. Daily, and I get comments almost daily... but sometimes that is because it is sporting the TNP pissed off owl morale patch. LOL Like his fanny pack I don't carry a piece in it except on rare brief occasions. I'm an appendix carry fan these days or 5 O'clock or SOB depending on the gun and day. I agree with TD and Nut'n on the ankle holsters, running is not really an option. (Or being on your feet for 10 hours).
I still carry the Stanley 10-049 because it is the lightest and sharpest pocket knife around and as a hobbiest woodworker it scribes a line like nobody's buiddness. (Thank you Paul Sellers.)
Anywhoo, thanks for the update, I enjoy these.
The Single blade victorinox with the sheepsfoot blade is the "Florist" kinfe. they can frequrntly be found on ebay in black scales with the FTD logo printed in gold
I always wondered what pens most people rock on their EDC, I love my Fisher Space pen, it's in all brass got it from BladeHQ on sale. Light weight, works anywhere, and the cartridges last a long time for the size. Plus I always have a write in the rain graph and notes combo notepad to go with it.
I'm skinny and I rock fanny packs every day. I just hate having things in my pocket. My way of blending it in is to have slim ones with cool print or branding. The only thing people see my getting out is my phone which has pockets for credit cards and few 20 bills or car keys. My style would be to have it as a clothing accessory but not let people know what's on my other fanny pockets.
Maxpedition do a version of the older fannypack, really nice too with their own take on things.
Always loved using one hate having stuff in my pockets, being in the UK don't need the space for a firearm though so I'll stick to the smaller one.
Keep up these style vids! Love em!
I was surprised to hear your comments on the Skyline. I bought that knife after watching your review, I have used it for several years now. Its one of my all time favorite EDC knives. It's nice and light, I love the clip and the size of the blade for the small light package and the price is awesome. I want to love other knives but still keep coming back to that one for my EDC. I'm also a cheap knife lover. It its more than a couple hundred dollars then I would rather spend my money on a gun. I would feel guilty using a $300+ knife. At work I typically carry something a little bigger, Griptillian, Endura or some other Kershaw's, but on days off wearing shorts - Skyline it is. Nutn you said there are better options now a days, I'm curious what your suggestions are in that same price point.
i used to edc a maxpedition octa, it was very nice, but i wanted more space, so i moved up to the proteus, but then again i still carry my whole bug out bag (monsoon) atleast once a week to keep used to it, so its easy to edc something small as that, fannypacks rock!
This may sound ridiculous, but the "see-through" mesh, frontal pocket, with various "not-too-tactical-looking items," like Vaseline Lip Balm tube or other "pocket trash," which mitigates the "Is that a fanny pack HOLSTER" kind of perception....Just sayin'. So is the gray, and non-"Ninja," NOT-BLACK, so you're not-looking "overly-'Shoot me FIRST,' " by wearing a black, obviously-gun-heavy, fanny pack.
