All neat items; in defense of things like the knife a fork, I'm out in a truck all day for work and sometimes I'll stop at the grocery store and pick up something for lunch, so in my work bag I currently carry a set of titanium chopsticks and a titanium spork. For the right person, that kind of thing is very useful.
I get inspired from these edc items, then try to find low cost solutions. I would like to get a nice edc fork and spoon, however I also know I can score free plastic cutlery from my carry out. I actually use diner style fork and spoons at home. I just feel like I need to respect my budget in my edc addiction
My GFs mom gave a hobo knife, and I thought cool a Fork and knife I couldn't use at the same time, but I still used it. Then, when cleaning it one day, I had the fork open, and it fell into the sink and popped the knife off with one scale attached. Turns out opening the fork, then sliding the scale would separate the knife. At that point, I was sold, genius idea.
I have the Kickstarter Grim Workshop kit. Comes with a few extra bits for starting a fire like a tinder card, magnifier & a key chain version of the dog tag plus some other bits. Live in London. So unlikely to use often. Though London is less a case of if things go to hell & more a case of when.
Another great video Taylor. I love it when a video is about a whole range of cool and handy tools instead of just the usual like knives and flashlights. We still need more slipjoint content though 😉
As far as fire starters, I’ve always told people to just keep mini bic lighters in their kit and stashed where needed. An extra step is you can cut a bicycle inner tube down, stuff the mini bic and some kind of tinder in, and seal both sides with rubber cement. It’ll still work if you leave it sealed for 20 years.
Another tip I saw in a video is to wrap it with hemp wick, then secure it with a small ranger band. Then you just light the wick's loose end and can save the lighter fuel. Works great!
I’ve been a big fan of the CRKT Stash Driver! Keep it as a backup driver in my maintenance kit. I’ll have to check out some of the other things you have here. Thanks for another great video man!🤘🏼
The Cold4ged Forkanife is better than nothing, the knife tears things apart well enough as long as you stick to soft items like pastries etc. Both you have to be mindful the direction it folds out when you hold them as neither lock into position firmly and you need to clean it quickly if anything gets into slit once it drys it is pretty much there forever. Just my experience having used it for a year or so.
I've been carrying a houbei 2.0 for about a year and love it, handles a few bills easily but if you have a lot it gets to be a pain. When I handled the original topsider I wasn't a fan. This new topsider LT is what I wanted so I have one on the way, stoked for it to show up. Open sea leather is the best
That first crkt driver looks like a whistle at first. I did purchase one of the 711L mini ratchets but the one that has a round handle and a 1/4in driver hole in the handle bottom. It’s gonna be great for my RC hobby as I use MIP bits. I’ll fuse some rubber to the handle for spinny grip. I bought a prestacycle ratchet too that’s the same as the 711L but longer and comes with an extension that doubles at a T handle. I cut it down stubby and welded it back together. Great stuff.
The CRKT cache driver looks like a flashlight because it's a Joe Wu (aka Scout Leather) design, and he also works with Prometheus Flashlights. Joe Wu makes useful, good-looking tools and all of his stuff has a distinctive look. I recall you've featured some of his drivers before. Take a look at them and the flashlights side by side and his design signature will jump out. Brilliant guy.
A useful pocket screwdriver is sort of a holy grail item for me, nobody seems to have one. They are either too big or they just use small bits. We were camping one time, one of our group was late and they had some of the gear so we didn't have any eating utensils for dinner. We carved spoons out of sticks.
@@jasonboes5892 couldn't guarantee as i don't have any but aren't they just thinner 1/4 bits? ive heard that they do fit in 1/4 drivers and you should be able to store a few in the driver but again i couldn't guarantee actually how well it'd work
That firebiner is 🔥🔥. I love it. Curious as to how much load it can bear, but like you said, it doesnt look overdone, while still packing a lot of utility. Thats a perfect unusual EDC item.
i never realized the grimwork stuff wasn't 1 and done either. are all of their card stuff reusuable? if so, that's cool. thanks for all these different products shown, some i know and some i've never seen before.
I made myself a wallet like that a year ago or so. It was a bit of a prototype so the finishing isn’t amazing but I love it. And now the patina is getting good enough to make me hesitant to make a nicer one
I have one of those CRKT stash drivers, the bit retention is waaaaaaay too strong, it takes pliers to change the bit, maybe it's just mine, but would not recommend.
Of all the EDC videos I've watched that include some sort of fire starter, I've yet to see anyone show a rope lighter. Yes there are specific videos on them, but I've never seen one in an EDC video.
A firebiner? Must be talking about me lmfao jk. I definitely need that fork and knife though, I had to walk across one of the biggest warehouses in the US last night just to find a fork for my lunch lol.
You mentioned that you keep a secondary wallet in your bag. So here is my question. By carrying secondary items like wallets and so forth, when does an EDC stop being an EDC? There must be thousands of EDC carriers who carry too many items.
Totally unrelated Someone please tell marine (X) to focus on his own content instead of worrying about other content creators This would be befitting him and the no drama rule we all need in our life.
Glad I'm not seeing ridiculous overpriced coins and over the top and priced useless items and going back to more edc useful gear that normal people can get their hands on.
You put coins in your wallet? I’m not a fan of the minimalist wallets myself. I stick with my own leather trifolds. Make em for myself and a few others.
@@The_RC_Guru If change is troublesome, check out a piece of gear called the Chawly Changer, it's a compact & organized way to carry just enough change to split a dollar.
Nah. None of them look worth the money to me. If you need cutlery just get a cheap fork at the second hand store and flatten it and/or cut it down to size. If you want a flint sparker, just salvage a used lighter. I've seen better bit driver designs in smaller packages. The sticky knife kit seems bulkier and less useful than a thin Swiss Army Knife or clone. The handcuff key kit might be useful.

The bic lighter is the ultimate fire starter , don’t care what the edc gurus say. Matches r a close second

It's really great, especially for the money!
Hi. Where can i purchase the ZF compact utility pouch you showed for the fork and knife..?
I have the fork-a-knife, saw it on the EDC-Coop.
It lives in my bag, and I use it pretty regularly. Such a great buy.

Same! I love my Houbei 2.0 but the only problem I have is placing cash inside. This Topsider is definitely going on my wishlist!
I like the idea of the card thing with a fork and knife! I've owned the Topsider Bifold from OSL and it's the absolute perfect wallet for me 😎
Thanks for the shoutout! We also have the Grim fire card! Simple and effective.
Great Video Taylor 👍
I personally like the key set. It looks very well made and compact, yet it seems very usefull.
I really need onw of those 😂🔥
Thanks, Yannic! They're awesome. I've been playing with it nonstop since I got it. lol

That key set is pretty rad.
I like the idea of the firebiner being your stove ignition tool.
We like unusual EDC video!❤
Didn't know the crkt screwdriver existed until now! Very cool!

Had that CRKT driver for a little while now, pretty much always in pocket! love it!!
Will more Leatherman bits fit in it?
@@jasonboes5892 couldn't guarantee as i don't have any but aren't they just thinner 1/4 bits? ive heard that they do fit in 1/4 drivers and you should be able to store a few in the driver but again i couldn't guarantee actually how well it'd work

Ferro rods r so much fun. I have many I have gotten over the years. However, I still reach for matches and my bic lighter
You have cash From Guatemala minute 5:18 that's cool men, I'm from Guatemala 🇬🇹 and like your Videos a lot ❤
i never realized the grimwork stuff wasn't 1 and done either. are all of their card stuff reusuable? if so, that's cool. thanks for all these different products shown, some i know and some i've never seen before.
Nice EDC I may get a forkanife for my work, @ 05:15 do you have Guatemalan money? 😊🇬🇹
That CRKT driver is actually the only driver I use and own. Love that thing
That Zf utility pouch is the size I need! All the pouch I found is very bulky that can fit phones in.
Saw the Guatemalan quetzales! From Guatemala and seeing those surprised me!
I have the CRKT pocket driver. It's a great tool! I'd probably just use the fork from the forkaknife and not have it in the cardholder.
Woah woah, we got Guatemalan currency now? Love it! Thanks for shouting out my home country! 🙌🏼🇬🇹
Love these videos! All cool products
The CRKT tool is definitely cool, might need to get one of those
I definitely need to pick up that pocket screwdriver
I made myself a wallet like that a year ago or so. It was a bit of a prototype so the finishing isn’t amazing but I love it. And now the patina is getting good enough to make me hesitant to make a nicer one
Definitely the Crkt bit driver for me 👌
I've had the firebiener for years an it's absolutely awesome
I have one of those CRKT stash drivers, the bit retention is waaaaaaay too strong, it takes pliers to change the bit, maybe it's just mine, but would not recommend.
Any Kei Truck update?
A Zippo flint is actualy a small Ferrocerium rod.
what knife is in the zf pouch
i used to have the first one. had 2 bits and some money in it, but it fell out from my pocket and i lost it

I love my crkt stash tool but modified it to best suit my needs.
Why is everyone worried about escaping from handcuffs?
Such a nice Grim tweezers
Thank you
My girlfriend is very outdoorsy like me and I just got her the Firebiner for Christmas!
A firebiner? Must be talking about me lmfao jk.

CRKT driver is awesome.
Lol, the forkaknife is the one I'd buy first.
Had to grab that open sea wallet. Can’t wait for it to get here

Son Q20 Quetzales 😮

This wallet would still fail in europe and switzerland.
(And I prefer our coins and notes only after 10.- system over the 5 euro or 1 dollar notes)

The Forkaknife is awesome. It goes in my EDC pouch and comes with me every day......because fat people need to eat!

Okay, CRKT just straight up copied the design of the Beta QRv2. That’s not cool

Just checked. They're working for me.
