I work with a guy that EDC's a sling shot. He's kinda an old soul, and a dang good shot with it. We live in rattlesnake country, and he loves to eat them. He is a wealth of knowledge! We are always out in nature for our job and this guy will point out all sorts of vegetation and tell you the medicinal properties and if it's edible (while picking it up and eating it) Real cool dude!
@@Benjalotus it's hand made. It's not a conventional sling shot. It's just one foot if rubber tubing that he tied a leather patch to one end with some string.
Zac in The Wild > Best Damn EDC Love both but this channel feels top-tier and genuine. It’s hard to describe but feels like from 13mins I’ve gotten more legitimate information then other channels do in 30-40+mins videos.
@@nathski22 Yup, his channel is essentially the QVC equivalent of EDC, or has become that recently. It used to be a great channel for actual people, not just the people buying titanium paperclips for Instagram.
Been carrying a Fenix E18R v2.0 for about a month now and its become my all time favorite edc light. Its small, light weight, but can be extremely bright for it's size. Can also be very dim (which is what I mostly use) to save battery. Seems to be super durable, and has a good clip too. This is my first Fenix
Zac, I love the channel and vids! I’ve been thinking about scout carry...seems like a great out-of-the-way option... more for convenience, not self defense or tactical reasons. I’m looking into smaller fixed blades...6”- 7” total. You mention it every now and then...How about a dedicated video? Keep up the amazing content! 603!!!
I carry a buck 110 slim pro, an olight arkfeld in a 3d printed belt holster made by hold my gear, a Zippo with butane gas insert, a Leatherman wingman in a kydex belt holster, a fisher space pen and a Milwaukee permanent marker. I'm really liking my new olight arkfeld. It's really bright, 1000 lumens, for work or taking the dogs out at night while also having a 60 lumen setting for moving around the house or dark bedroom at night without blinding myself. The laser is also just fun to play with
Change is good! Love using a in pocket fixed blade. I always carry a fixed blade in my left pocket for harder use tasks. I recommend a Jakebcreates Chikadee by Jakeb Ginsberg. Great size and awesome steels🤙🏼
I love watching Zacs videos because with all his work experiences changing jobs and different things he works on he carries practical gear that he knows is going to work and passes on what he loves about each piece of gear and tools watching his videos constantly gets me to rethink my EDC
I’ve been rocking the squid, tpt slide and Gerber chonk for the last couple months. It was hard to take my elementum out of my carry, but the squid has become my new favourite knife. I’m gonna get the Pilar next though because it’s a big bigger than the squid
My current EDC is a Knafs Lander, Olight i5T, and a Big Ideas pen in a custom pen sheath. Zac if you are looking to get into sling shots you should check out the Sling Rod by Snypit EDC Designs . I think you'll like how it looks being a car guy.
Zac, my dude. Great to see your setup! Might I HIGHLY recommend you try out the Acebeam Pokelit AA in place of your i3T EOS, I’ve just swapped them out and it’s an absolute game-changer. It has a memory function that remembers your preferred setting (for me that’s the medium beam which is 190 lumens, a little more than the high setting on the i3T), it has a moonlight that’s like 1 lumen and a high that’s 550 for 30 seconds and then drops down to about 350). I’ve not looked back since changing, and though its slightly larger, the versatility you get over the i3T is INSANE! Anyway, nice to see your updated EDC. Thanks again!
I carry a custom leather bifold card wallet with money clip, Kershaw Leek, regular key ring with keys, leatherman skelotool and NEBO flash light. I’ve been contemplating updating my folder not sure what I want to get $150 max budget unless I find an awesome used knife.
@@kingofoneself9 Civi elementum , Kiser Azo vanguard are definitely on my radar open others. Wood, green micarta and Certain G10 scales what what I’m leaning toward as well.
I've been trying to edc a fixed blade for the last year or two. I really like that Pete's knife. I recently bought a MKM Makro. And I've been really impressed with it. That and the white river backpacker pro.
That competition sling shot is a Simpleshot Scout I believe. I love hearing you say you're going to add a slingshot to your edc, it's a ton of fun! I'm 36 and got into slingshots only a year or so ago and find that it comes out to entertain people as often as my other items come out to be genuinely used. I'm really looking forward to your knife storage video as I've been looking into options recently myself. I really love the channel, Zac! Keep it up!
I'm carrying a Leatherman Free P2 (My go-to multitool for years now!), an Olight Arkfeld, a Fisher Space Pen Astronaut, a Boker Kwaiken Button Lock (one of my latest favorite knives in my rotation), and my Urban Survival EDC pouch!
The i3T is a decent little flashlight. It's not what goes in my pocket because I like something smaller and rechargeable (so I've got an i1r2 pro I carry) but the i3T is what stay in my coat pocket for dog walking or for walking in the dark. I often have a baseball or trucker hat with me so having something with a duel direction clip means I've got a headlamp
Dude, there is no problem carrying things for fun. Besides the essentials like a knife, flashlight, pen, and notepad. I also carry fun coins with me.... ones with knights, vikings etc on them because I like looking at them and handling them.
The pocketable fixies i have been eyeballing, hopefully on your list too: benchmade flyway, smith and sons shoal, hiroaki ohta, esee camplore, civivi circulus, white river exodus 3.0, white river tom mack cape, white river small game
I’ve been carrying the Zip Pouch Pro as my wallet for about 6 months now. I only pull out my old minimalist wallet now when I’m in a suit. Every other day it’s my Alpaka. I keep my Tactile Bexar, a Chicago Comb carbon fiber comb, and a Victorinox Classic Alox in it, along with all my standard wallet stuff (credit cards, ID, etc.).
When I was in college, I had a year of zoom classes, and I got really bored and found a slingshot my dad made for me. Picked it up and just started plinking in my room for fun (not recommended) during my zoom classes, ever since then I started carrying a slingshot. I've been rocking the TOPs mini sling for a while now, and I have come to really enjoy it! While I always have a deck of cards in my backpack, its nice to change up what you (and your friends) are doing when there is dead time.
Another great video Zac and Jamie! That Pete’s pirate life fixed blade is really awesome, I haven’t carried a daily fixed blade before but I’ve been looking for a good one for months now. After seeing your video when you guys went to tops and you should your alpaca pocket organizer I went on the hunt for one for myself, I found a company on Etsy called leattweed out of Ukrainian that make a big selection of different size canvas organizers, I got one about the size you have Zac and I’ve had it about three or four weeks now and I love it. Thanks for the green content.
Nice setup. I look forward to seeing which light you end up with. I love my PD36R, which is bigger than what you are carrying. Not a fan of Apple, but the rest of your EDC seems solid.
i just dont see the reason to actually carry this stuff on your person. have it in your car or nearby but on you all the time?. maybe a small blade thats all.
Totally fair. EDC should be based on your personal needs. I’ve found over the years that having a few simple tools on me comes in really handy with the situations I regularly find myself in😁
Current edc… Pena X Series Alacran, Tactile KnifevCo Dreadeye, Streamlight ProTac 2L-X, Lynch Ti keychain clip for my keys, Apple Watch, Ghurka leather wallet, leather man’s coin purse with KAI ultra thin nail clippers, chapstick, P365XL in Vedder holster, and iPhone 13 Pro plus.
I do EDC a slingshot and let me say…. It’s a BLAST!!! Checkout Simple Shot Shooting Sports (the maker of the black slingshot you had in this video) for new bands for your bean shooter!😉 it’s too much fun to set up a bottle and hear that * PLINK * when you make contact. Thanks for the awesome video bud! - Samuel
Love the content Zac. If you haven’t tried it already the O light “Arkfeld” is my new EDC flashlight. It’s nicer to carry because of its shape and has a built in laser to point out things from a distance. Be careful with that slingshot you can take out an eye with that thing! 😂
I really like my Ti Maratac AAA light, it's super small but gets really bright for it's size, and the run time is good, that's on me all the time. I have a Wuben X0 clipped to the strap of my junk bag so I can have hands free lighting if I need it.
Good stuff Zac👍 I just recently started EDC'ing a flashlight and now won't go anywhere without it. It's the 500 lumen Milwaukee rechargeable magnetic EDC light with dual clip. Great piece. Other than that, I always have a variety of different knives on me. I change them out every few days.
I use a knife everyday. Used to carry nice knives like this, now i realize a box cutter is the best option. no sharpening, you can destroy a blade and just replace it in a second. and if you can take the blade off if you need to scrape something
Love that CJRB pyrite. I want the premium model with the titanium frame and micarta inlays. Such a gorgeous knife and a very useful and versatile design. Love it!
New sub here . Love the channel . Question : In the video you said that it was a 7” Knipex and on the link it says 5” . Can you confirm which one it is . Also I’m stuck between the 5” and the 4” . I really want the 5” but I don’t want it to stick out of the zip pouch pro . Any thoughts .
I've been carrying a fixed blade a lot since I started working armed security. I've been carrying the Benchmade Follow Up. Great little fixed blade. I have a copper I3T EOS but want something a bit more powerful for night patrols and something rechargeable and that won't break the bank. Would love to hear what you have to suggest. Great video as always.
Hey, I have a Swiss Army knife compact and I was wondering if anyone knew of a company or anybody that sells leather couch, or some thing that I can carry my knife in with a pocket clip on it that’s not that expensive
A couple of years ago I thought I'd try EDCing a small fixed blade. I mainly looked at the smaller ESEE knives, the Izula and there's another small one that I can't remember the name of. I decided I just didn't want to spend that much on a small knife that I might decide I didn't want to carry all the time, so I looked at cheaper options and found a Schrade SCHF66 for $15. I LOVE this little knife! It's Chinese, not the best steel but it's decent and reasonably comfortable to work with. The grind is perfectly centered and the angle on each side is the same, it resharpens easily and holds an edge well enough and touchup is a snap. It's roughly the same size as my Mini Griptilian when open, so perfect for my needs. I ultimately decided I didn't want to EDC a small fixed blade but I do usually carry it in a cargo pocket when I'm working outside. I liked it enough that I bought a second one to throw in my Jeep. I have 4 knives that stay in my Jeep now, a 30ish year old Buck stockman style pocket knife in the console, a No.7 Opinel in the glove box, their thin blades make them great little food slicers when on a road trip, a Buck 110 and the Schrade. I may have a Morakniv Companion in my roadside emergency kit too, not sure! 🤣
Hey Zac, I’ve been carrying the knipex 5 inch cobra plyers, Olight S1R baton 2 (stored in the alpaca pocket organizer of course), Bradford guardian 3, and Bradford guardian 5.5.
I love my Alpaka Zip Pro! Carry as edc/wallet. 7 cards.+ Some cash inside. Outside Crkt Squid + Klarus Mi2 + Kaweco Liliput. I have few od Olight iT3 and they are great, wort the money👍 I bought even bigger brother iT5 also good, but switch button working so so…I have 2 Gerbers Armbar not slim versions, sitting in my backpack with Olight all the time as Micro EEC set😏
Backpack EDC = a GO! - Serenity Prayer dog tag - Classic Brushed Chrome Armor Zippo lighter - Chapstick Classic Original Lip Balm - Victorinox Fieldmaster Swiss Army knife - House keys and 9mm bullet keychain on a Nite Ize G-Series Dual Chamber Carabiner - Hav-A-Hank Bandanna (in my pockets on days off when my pants actually have pockets.) I carry a Streamlight Stylus Pro, Crescent Mini Pliers and a Spyderco Tenacious in my purse/bag -
I've been carrying my Spyderco partially serrated Manix( or Manix 2 i don't remember) as my main knife. I've always carried a secondary blade bc I'm constantly bending down or on a knee so I've rotated through a few of those: Bugout in M390, Hogue Deka in Magnacut, Hogue Deka Sheepsfoot/warencliff thing in 20cv, and most recently Kershaw Heist in D2. I think I'm sticking with the Kershaw for now. Rite in the Rain notebook. Olight flashlight pen, Olight mini pen, metal mechanical pencil, Elkster black leather wallet, Streamlight Wedge flashlight, Olight prybar, SOG Ultra XR (black carbon fiber gold S35vn blade) money clip, and tissues bc I've got allergies. The SOG is probably not all that necessary but if you're going to have a money clip you might as well have a knife money clip! I change my main knife a lot too but I've been trying to use different blade shapes for each one. That said I will switch between the Hogue Doug Ritter 20cv in purple gmascus the Hogue Sig partial serrated/drop point. and the Spyderco YoJimbo 2 black on black. Oh and my 365XL.
Leatherman Supertool 300 Small rechargeable Streamlight Benchmade Mini Bugout CF Elite That’s my everyday. I also toss in a different extra knife every few days, just for funsies.
Current carry - TOPS cut 4.0 for fixed blade requirements and self defense / shit hits the fan scenarios. This is my primary Urban EDC blade - for 5 years and I see no reason to change that. Getting a Street Scalpel shortly from the US so i might experiment with that for a while. Leatherman Skeletool CX + Victorinox Rambler + Spyderco PM2 usually cover all the "pliers, scissors, blade, opener and driver" needs for me. Like you, i work on fixing stuff all the time so having a good toolkit is necessary. Thrunite Archer - flashlight is very important as i go on walks on edge of the city almost everyday and we do have some leopard incursions (or the other way round) + it is India, so lots of snakes :D Smartphone + Casio ProTrek Solar watch + sunglasses (polarised) + a reliable lighter cover my EDC. Like I said, I live in India so it is good to keep your eyes glare free especially during the non-rainy months. During the rains, i carry a poncho that can be folded into my pocket. Much better than an umbrella as the hands can stay free.
Second time watching this video lmao. Still planning on a fixed blade video? I recently picked up the CRKT Razel 23'. I love it BUT....the sheath is so cumbersome for edc carry. I've really been trying to stick through it but it's definitely getting difficult
Zac I love Pete's knife. Not quite sure how I've missed this company. What is a typical price on his knives once they drop? I looked this one up which obviously was sold out, then when I looked on Ebay they were starting at $500.00. I dunno for $500.00 dollars I mise well get a Chris Reeves.
Carrying a civivi Cetos Carbin fiber and it was stiff at first but with the lighter detent and little bit of Dremel for acess to the lockbar 😮, whoa Nelly ! Also the Kansept kryo is pretty sweet . I do prefer civivi knives and am waiting on the New Ray Laconico Sokoke . I like the inset liners and overall design .
I want to keep it 💯. Most are governed by what is socially excepted, and not what is more practical/comfortable. If it wasn’t that way, you would have a fanny pack or similar and a large fixed blade strapped to your side. Be honest. Instead, you carry folders or small fixed blades while swelling your pockets and perpetuating the lie by saying a small knife is what you prefer and having your pockets crammed is comfortable. For real: put out one video showcasing what you could carry if you were “allowed” to. As in if it were legal to and you were not ridiculed while standing in line at Starbucks, or by some of your viewers who think a knife should cost less than $50. Seriously, liberate you bad self sir!
Why carry a fixed blade and then have the Gerber tool too? You already got the Knipex pliers and all you really need is a ratcheting screwdriver tool with multiple bits for philips, slotted, hex and so forth, you can even add 1/4' and 3/8" socket converters to the ratcheting screwdriver for just about any size socket that you would need if you have the space in your backpack. Much more everyday functional for the tasks at hand with a ratcheting screwdriver and they don't take any more space than your Gerber multi tool and most probably lighter and definitely more economical too.
So what happened to the Vic Compact? My EDC is an old Imperial Ireland camping multiknife, much like a Vic except with a hawkbill blade because I like a hawkbill. And a Gerber skeleton clipped in my boot.
There is a very good reason to carry a slingshot, if you're not a vegetarian/vegan. If you are, that's fine too, and it is fun ... as well as defensive. I hang my fixed blade from my belt, and carry my folder in my pocket. My OS Bag does have much more in it, as well. Nice video. Thanks.
I almost always have one of my many folding knives in a scout carry pouch. I don’t like knives in the pocket. I always have my Swiss Card with me, my i Phone, my Pendleton slim wallet and my custom Gray Wolf Leather cash and coin wallet. I don’t like to carry my cards any cash together. Fun video as usual.
I am a huge EDC optimizer as i am a lot on the go as a soundengineer on stages. My biggest thing is actually the Tale of Knives BIG Boy organizer on my Blue Force Gear Belt. You need a Surge on stage everything smaller isnt doing it. Flashlight more important then a knive on Stage because its always dark . Sharpie TwinTip instad of an normal Pen because it can write on evrything. And with all the knives i have tried, the PM2 is still the King under the folders.
Most of my edc is on the keychain, and it's rather basic. An olight i3e Flashlight, a nite ize doohickey, a peanut lighter, a tiny pill bottle holding about a hundred feet of 80lb fishing line wrapped around a safety pin, and a true utility telescoping pen. Sounds like a lot, but it's pretty compact. In addition, I carry a small multitool I got from cabellas which I use for electrical.
I dont get why you would need 3-4 knives:fixed, foldable, boot and multitool... Also that alpaca pouch in the front pocket? Why, i feel it's a bit too big, would shove in the back pocket
Hi Zac, love the vid!! One note about EDC'ing a slingshot. If you carry one in your pocket make sure it 's legal wherever you happen to be. Believe it or not, even in Alabama where I live it's still illegal carry a slingshot concealed.
My friend you truly don't give a hoot about your fans bank accounts. The second you brought up sling shots I was like oh crap didn't think of that, I could get some squirrel with one. Then I was like wait, what am I talking about 🤔🤣
Carried a slingshot every where when I was a kid. You can get very accurate with them great for killing time. Just gotta be careful where you use them. Been EDCing ffixed blades for a few years now. The way my hands and thumbs work the only folders I can use anymore are flippers.
I've moved to a smaller flashlight - a mix of the olight i3e EOS and the Trustfire minix. I found that i really didn't like having a 18650 light in my pocket. I'm more likely to have a light on my person, and it's letting me not use my phone light so often.
Hey Zac Several years ago I bought a Fenix e12 based on you review. Loved it, but I recently lost it. Have you settled on a new flashlight or are you staying with rhe e12? Thanks
Here’s some irony I think you’ll appreciate, bought a quad lock for my 99 Road King because of your recommendations and literally the first ride I took with it in stalled my speedo went out and I had to download an app to replace it! 😎 thanks for the tip! Stay wild!
McGizmo haiku is the holy Grail of EDC flashlights. Have you used one or seen one in person? Fantastic channel and content. Thank you very much for all of your great information.
As of right now I'm carrying a ceramic Mastercraft knife, a Browning knife, little Swiss army knife because of course, and a balisong trainer. Small carry but I've got what I need and want
So I have a suggestion you might dig for your flashlight mount setup. You know those small, half inch Velcro tie down straps that you find on those doggy poo bag holders? Well anyways, just a small Velcro tie down strap is a much more secure mounting option for your glasses, and also looks cleaner on your light. Cheers zac, love the channel
I always enjoy your videos and appreciate seeing other guy's EDC. I couldn't imagine carrying something the size of that loaded pouch in my pocket, but my sling bag probably isn't for everyone either, haha. I will likely try out that Gerber multi tool though.
There’s no way your carrying that everyday but maybe your are. I keep stuff in my truck like pliers but damn. Looks like a sell to me and no gun??? I don’t believe it. There’s no wear on anything you show.
You would need a slingshot to make me swallow the idea of an EDC slingshot! I say that with confidence cuz you mentioned how bad your aim is. Small EDC fixed blades seem like a real option but all these different knife laws do my head in. The Alpaca pouch looks interesting as well.
12:47 i am pretty good with slingshots and i think a little explanation would help you a lot if you are just getting started. the technology has advanced a in a short amount of time so you have to get onboard with what is new. so the biggest change is that slingshots get their power from speed not from draw weight so tubes are obsolete now they are just too heavy and slow so you need to make your own flat bands and it takes a whole crafting kit but you need to cut them tapered so that the latex moves faster and are lighter and if the pouch size and weight doesn’t match the ammo size and the bands then it won’t work. if you buy ammo pouches you will get a basic description that it’s for 1/4”-3/8” ammo or something like that but it’s perfect for 7/16” works okay for 3/8” is really loose for the 5/16” ammo and will not work at all for 1/4” so if you want to be good at shooting the smaller ammo then you need to make your own pouches too and the only DIY material which works is kangaroo leather because it’s stronger than any other kind of leather and is also thinner so lightweight which is important because it needs to fit the ammunition closely in size. 1/4” doesn’t pack a punch and it’s more difficult to get a clean release but it’s much cheaper and easier to carry on you in an edc application, like it’s the least practical but it looks great on a magnet and it is the fastest way to improve your shooting and it still flies good. 5/16” is probably my favorite to shoot but it doesn’t pack a punch 3/8” is the most common thing to shoot and it’s awesome so that’s where most people start and you with 3/8” you don’t have to make your own pouches. with target shooting i have a 2” bullseye setup 100ft outside my living room window and i can get a 3/8” to go around 300ft but to hunt you need to think differently and get heavier ammo and bands and think 30ft or less. take a fishing weight and hammer it into a hex nut for heavier ammo. the frame isn’t very important but if you diy from wood you have to use a natural fork or it will break and there are a lot of custom makers because there’s a ton of classic designs that you can print online because they are public domain so it’s easier to understand what you’re buying from a custom maker because almost always it’s based on a trusted design but the two best brands for snobs is simple shot or wasp each are around $50 but there are a lot of good chinese options under $20 but don’t get a wooden chinese slingshot because they don’t usually use natural forks so they break easily. DO NOT buy a pickle fork. they look really cool but what is much cooler is not breaking the bones in your hand. people who buy pickles forks takes a special release with both hands or you will shoot your hand and people buy them because they look cool and are smaller and easier to carry but it is not worth it don’t do it. you should take two locking bit drivers with a box end for a ratchet and attach them to the ends of the handle on your knipex pliers so that it turns it into a multi tool and then you could make like a quick attachment slingshot for it to store in your pouch
I rotate my knifes almost daily but my damned designs basilisk has been seeing a lot of pocket time. When I’m not at work I almost always double down with a fixed too it 90% of the time it’s my mkm makro 2. Non knife wise I use an open sea hobei wallet I either have my Olight i3t or i5r I think I prefer the i5r slightly. Sometimes I carry a we Gisela pry bar as well
I decided to start carrying a hair tie on my flashlight after you first mentioned it a few years ago when you were at BHQ. since then I've changed that to 3 or 4 hair ties in my pocket pouch because I have a wife and 2 daughters that inevitably need hair ties on occasion.
I haven’t done it yet, but I had the idea some time back to get an oversized slingshot, a 1” ball bearing, and some 2000+ pound paracord. Bore a hole through the center of the ball bearing, feed the cord through and knot it off so that the bearing is at the end of the cord, then fire it over tree branches for an impromptu rappelling gun. No actual utility. Just to menace society.
That "Pirate Knife" is exactly what Imlooking for! Went on the website, nothing there except a "Notify me of next drop" message with a place to put your email.
Aw Zac you’re killing me no compact! I just got one and readjusted me edc i have to say it’s living up to your billing love the vid content sweet pirate fixed blade arrrgh I’m jealous,
Can't wait to see the upcoming videos on some of the gear. Made the mistake of falling down the OTF rabbit hole looking at the shootout or the Axial shift. Most of the rest of my edc is set how i like
Not sure if someone replied on the slingshot, but the brand is Simpleshot. Picked some up last year from them and we have a lot of fun with them. Very accurate and I haven't found a better build quality for the price.
I’m looking for a small fixed blade to carry pretty concealed. I’m also trying to find a creative way to carry glasses. I don’t need them all the time but when I do,, I really need them & I never have them on me because they are just cumbersome to carry on you in the traditional methods (on top of your head, hooked onto your shirt or in a shirt pocket, etc.).
I do like olight stuff I've got one of there stupid small mini light clipped to my hip with my keys at all times and it's so handy, I've got a few I3E Eos free promo's still in box too just for future gifts because I'm actually happy with the mini and I've picked up a few bits at the right time to snag a free limited editions
I carry a slingshot in my edc bag and have several around. Simpleshot makes your competition style one. They are amazing and have fantastic videos for how to shoot. I own a ton and have made a few. It's a fantastic cheap hobby. Flat bands are better.
Big Idea is massively overpriced stuff. If you are working on motorcycles, building additions on your house... you need real tools and ratchet sets not some big idea pry bar or a Leatherman. Cmon
Highly recommend carrying that slingshot. The brand is simple shot on that one you got and if your looking at slingshot band making videos check out the Original Slingshot Forum.
I work with a guy that EDC's a sling shot. He's kinda an old soul, and a dang good shot with it. We live in rattlesnake country, and he loves to eat them. He is a wealth of knowledge! I work with a guy that EDC’s a bazooka. He‘s kinda ballsy, and a dang good shot with it. We live in terrorist country and he loves to eat taliban.
You have to go watch Carolina camera- the slingshot man. You will like it trust me.
@@Benjalotus it's hand made. It's not a conventional sling shot. It's just one foot if rubber tubing that he tied a leather patch to one end with some string.
Never leave home without mine haha 28 now
I have a wrist rocket from daisy.
Zac in The Wild > Best Damn EDC
Love both but this channel feels top-tier and genuine. It’s hard to describe but feels like from 13mins I’ve gotten more legitimate information then other channels do in 30-40+mins videos.
Shhhhh that’s the comparison we don’t want to make 😅
idk it seems like BDEDC is starting to step away from focusing on the subject while Zac has dived deep in. Not a great comparison tbh
That’s an obvious
Absolutely this. You see it a lot as channels grow. They go from recommending affordable, good quality stuff to $500 knives and $300 pens for EDC.
@@nathski22 Yup, his channel is essentially the QVC equivalent of EDC, or has become that recently. It used to be a great channel for actual people, not just the people buying titanium paperclips for Instagram.
Thanks for all the awesome content throught the years Jamie and Zak!
Thanks for tuning in👊
I use the Alpaka elements tech case daily and have been loving it so far, Glad to see a content creator shout them out for one of their products!

Love to see pocket fixed blades starting to become more popular 🤘🏼
I carry a buck 110 slim pro, an olight arkfeld in a 3d printed belt holster made by hold my gear, a Zippo with butane gas insert, a Leatherman wingman in a kydex belt holster, a fisher space pen and a Milwaukee permanent marker. I'm really liking my new olight arkfeld. It's really bright, 1000 lumens, for work or taking the dogs out at night while also having a 60 lumen setting for moving around the house or dark bedroom at night without blinding myself. The laser is also just fun to play with
Have really come to appreciate the small fixed blades from Reiff Knives - F3 EDC & F3XC in CPM3V
Would love to see you review one.
Haven’t got eyes on these yet! Going to check them out👊
Change is good! Love using a in pocket fixed blade. I always carry a fixed blade in my left pocket for harder use tasks. I recommend a Jakebcreates Chikadee by Jakeb Ginsberg. Great size and awesome steels🤙🏼

I’ve been rocking the squid, tpt slide and Gerber chonk for the last couple months. It was hard to take my elementum out of my carry, but the squid has become my new favourite knife. I’m gonna get the Pilar next though because it’s a big bigger than the squid
Glad to see someone else rocking the squid!
For the squid or Pilar try to get a G10 or Micarta front scale. Makes them a whole new knife that is just awesome🤘
My current EDC is a Knafs Lander, Olight i5T, and a Big Ideas pen in a custom pen sheath. Zac if you are looking to get into sling shots you should check out the Sling Rod by Snypit EDC Designs . I think you'll like how it looks being a car guy.
Thanks for the suggestion🤘
You might wanna check out the Primitive Woodsman Guide knife. It's on my list, it looks awesome. Perfect size for small fixed blade.
I’ve just started my knife journey and it hurts to find out this amazing channel has already come to an end 😢.
Keep it up!
I like that: "Big Idea Designs Dual Click Pen" but is expensive
I'm carrying a Leatherman Free P2 (My go-to multitool for years now!), an Olight Arkfeld, a Fisher Space Pen Astronaut, a Boker Kwaiken Button Lock (one of my latest favorite knives in my rotation), and my Urban Survival EDC pouch!
Great versatile carry!
I like your slingshot idea. And they are very useful in certain situations like dogs or other creatures that might like to bother us.
Dude, there is no problem carrying things for fun. Besides the essentials like a knife, flashlight, pen, and notepad. I also carry fun coins with me.... ones with knights, vikings etc on them because I like looking at them and handling them.
Totally agree! Sometimes get too serious😁
The pocketable fixies i have been eyeballing, hopefully on your list too: benchmade flyway, smith and sons shoal, hiroaki ohta, esee camplore, civivi circulus, white river exodus 3.0, white river tom mack cape, white river small game
Zac your doing a great job man. Love the videos and the way you approach things. Thank you. Hope your well.
Thanks man! All good here hope the same for you🤘
I’ve been carrying the Zip Pouch Pro as my wallet for about 6 months now.
Awesome carry!
So rad! I used to carry dice around for fun little games with buddies too.
Zac, you should fix the Alpaka link; it currently opens up to the Olight flashlight, not the Alpaka.
Fixed. Thanks!
Awesome! I’m going to have to check them out👊
Nice setup. I look forward to seeing which light you end up with. I love my PD36R, which is bigger than what you are carrying. Not a fan of Apple, but the rest of your EDC seems solid.
Got bullied into the phone🤣. Honestly hate it.
@@zacinthewild escape quickly, before you get sucked too deep into the Apple ecology!
That particular organizer is very very good.
It is by far my favorite!
i just dont see the reason to actually carry this stuff on your person. have it in your car or nearby but on you all the time?. maybe a small blade thats all.
Great suggestion and warning😁
I really like my Ti Maratac AAA light, it's super small but gets really bright for it's size, and the run time is good, that's on me all the time. I have a Wuben X0 clipped to the strap of my junk bag so I can have hands free lighting if I need it.
Good stuff Zac👍 I just recently started EDC'ing a flashlight and now won't go anywhere without it. It's the 500 lumen Milwaukee rechargeable magnetic EDC light with dual clip. Great piece. Other than that, I always have a variety of different knives on me. I change them out every few days.
I now have to get the Milwaukee light!!!!😁
I use a knife everyday. Used to carry nice knives like this, now i realize a box cutter is the best option. no sharpening, you can destroy a blade and just replace it in a second. and if you can take the blade off if you need to scrape something
Love that CJRB pyrite. I want the premium model with the titanium frame and micarta inlays. Such a gorgeous knife and a very useful and versatile design. Love it!
It is an awesome one!
@@zacinthewild - yeah that's my kind of knife!
2022 was the year of the button lock. 2023 looks like the year of the pocket fixed blade.
Yes!
I was thinking the same thing. Fixed blades started to work for me a little less than 2 years ago once it dawned on me to carry it in pocket.
Thanks for the great EDC ideas! Always looking to tweak my carry. I’ve officially reached the point where I have seasonal carry.
Glad it was helpful!
I have the same pocket organizer and I love it. I do wish it was a *little bit* bigger tho
Same! Just like 1/4 inch longer and 1/4 wider I feel would be perfect!
Light video coming soon👊
you plan to use a knife in combat ?
@@FOURTEEFIVE No. That’s what the Glock is for. The knife is just for cutting task on the job which happens more than you’d think.
I love me a good affordable piece of gear that gets the job done! I also probably have 3-4 knives in my 4Runner🤣
Hey Zac, I’ve been carrying the knipex 5 inch cobra plyers, Olight S1R baton 2 (stored in the alpaca pocket organizer of course), Bradford guardian 3, and Bradford guardian 5.5.
Awesome carry! Glad that pouch is coming in handy🤘
Can someone tell me what the best small EDC fix blade for caring everywhere that is less than $100
Working on a video that should be helpful. Still testing
Solid carry!
Backpack EDC = a GO!
- Serenity Prayer dog tag
- Classic Brushed Chrome Armor Zippo lighter
- Chapstick Classic Original Lip Balm
- Victorinox Fieldmaster Swiss Army knife
- House keys and 9mm bullet keychain on a Nite Ize
G-Series Dual Chamber Carabiner
- Hav-A-Hank Bandanna
(in my pockets on days off when my pants actually have pockets.)
I carry a Streamlight Stylus Pro, Crescent Mini Pliers and a Spyderco Tenacious in my purse/bag -
I've been carrying my Spyderco partially serrated Manix( or Manix 2 i don't remember) as my main knife.
Leatherman Supertool 300
Small rechargeable Streamlight
Benchmade Mini Bugout CF Elite
That’s my everyday. I also toss in a different extra knife every few days, just for funsies.
Current carry -
TOPS cut 4.0 for fixed blade requirements and self defense / shit hits the fan scenarios.
Thrunite Archer - flashlight is very important as i go on walks on edge of the city almost everyday and we do have some leopard incursions (or the other way round) + it is India, so lots of snakes :D
Smartphone + Casio ProTrek Solar watch + sunglasses (polarised) + a reliable lighter cover my EDC.
Like I said, I live in India so it is good to keep your eyes glare free especially during the non-rainy months. During the rains, i carry a poncho that can be folded into my pocket. Much better than an umbrella as the hands can stay free.
Why would I know your carry??? What am I supposed to be gay or something???
Second time watching this video lmao. Still planning on a fixed blade video? I recently picked up the CRKT Razel 23'. I love it BUT....the sheath is so cumbersome for edc carry. I've really been trying to stick through it but it's definitely getting difficult
Zac I love Pete's knife. Not quite sure how I've missed this company. What is a typical price on his knives once they drop? I looked this one up which obviously was sold out, then when I looked on Ebay they were starting at $500.00. I dunno for $500.00 dollars I mise well get a Chris Reeves.
The fixed-blade I carry most often is the one in the Victorinox SwissCard
Carrying a civivi Cetos Carbin fiber and it was stiff at first but with the lighter detent and little bit of Dremel for acess to the lockbar 😮, whoa Nelly ! Also the Kansept kryo is pretty sweet . I do prefer civivi knives and am waiting on the New Ray Laconico Sokoke . I like the inset liners and overall design .
Love the mod!
The top shirt button does not get buttoned without a tie.
😁😎
Slings And sling-shots are deadly weapons - just ask Goliath...a full-power rock or lead ball to the forehead will put somebody's lights OUT!
Another B.S. exclusive brand with limited drops. Been through that with other customs as well as GEC, I’ll pass.
Then I was like wait, what am I talking about 🤔🤣
EDC flashlight, give Cloud Defensive Chicro a look. Slim, lightweight, rechargeable battery that lasts a while. two brightness settings.
The gerber tool is pretty handy for sure! I’m going to start doing some sling testing soon🤘😁
Sometimes I carry a we Gisela pry bar as well
Totally support EDC slingshot. SimpleShot Scout LT, great sling. Also fun to do w/ the kids.
keep it going Zac.
Never understood the pocket pouch organizers! Feels uncomfortable in you’re pocket, I’d much rather have them on my pocket ready on the fly jmo
I was trying to find the video, but you recommended a grease pen(?) to write on your motorcycle tank that was a harmless wipe away. What pen was that?
Aw Zac you’re killing me no compact! I just got one and readjusted me edc i have to say it’s living up to your billing love the vid content sweet pirate fixed blade arrrgh I’m jealous,
Can't wait to see the upcoming videos on some of the gear. Made the mistake of falling down the OTF rabbit hole looking at the shootout or the Axial shift. Most of the rest of my edc is set how i like
OTF’s are a deep rabbit hole for sure😁
They’re also illegal to carry in New York State.
@@eddiecastellana9339 lucky for me I live in Alaska where it's legal
First off I’ve loved your contacts and first found you on Blade HQ. And absolutely do a video on what’s in your EDC bag.
