I use olight baton 3 for work, but also on a bicycle. I clip it on baseball cap shield from top. Fits perfectly from head to the end of belt pin and great battery life/brightness. Just restrict from extra fast movements or it flies off; too wide light beam. They discontinued this model, but check length of the bball shield and some other flashlight, maybe it would be better than a hair tie. After cca1,5years expect lower quality because led wear, I use it about 2hrs every day, sometimes even 1 battery a day. Work one fell like 1000 times in the last 3years and still going. If I am off topic just ignore.

I am an electrician by trade and I will give you a pro tip. I carry any color electrical tape but black. Black tape has black adhesive that gets on everything even your cuts (I use it to stop bleeding too). The other color tapes have clear adhesive so you don't end up with black goo on white walls.

Much like the spork, I've been carrying a pair of collapsible chopstick as part of my edc for probably 5 years now and have gotten TONS of use out of it. Not just for food, but they're also super handy if I drop something small, like a screw, in a tight area and I don't have (or can't safely use) a magnet. I also carry a zippo as a lighter, but I replaced the insert with a butane torch. It's refillable, doesn't leak, lights in the wind, and if it ever needs to be refilled, butane refills are pretty easy to find at convenience stores and pharmacies. I wouldn't say it's superior to a cheap bic lighter, but it DOES fit in the watch pocket on a pair of jeans perfectly! Anyway, great video! Can't wait to see that chopper build!

I love how these kits are specific to the presenter- as they should be. Speaking of gift cards, they are perfect emergency ice scrapers if you don't normally have one in the car (i.e. you don't live in cold climates)- pliable, minimalist, and non-marring. I've had to use a card once when my rental car didn't have it stored in the trunk (freak storm). I remember it taking more time than a dedicated ice scraper, not to mention freezing fingers, but it got my windows and mirrors cleared way faster than relying on a mixture of defroster, washer fluid, and wipers like a noob.
Doesn't beat the hair-tie-on-flashlight combo though- you're a hero if you come through with a hair tie at the right time.

I love how personalized edc is. I was into edc before I knew the term, but after discovering the community I have gotten really into perfecting what's in my pockets and bags. What I carry is what I've found to be perfect for my daily needs, but everyone lives a different life so everyone has different things in their edc. And I love trying new gear but sometimes you just keep reverting back to your old favorites, ya know?
You've got a lot of power cords. You ever try the levergear cable kit? After adding that to my edc I've found I don't have to carry more than one cable because the cable kit not only has a short cable which is ideal for use with a powerbank, but an adapter. So for me, a usbc cable with a micro USB is ideal, but they also have a lightening version and a usbc to lightening adapter.

I cannot say enough good things about those - my main gripe with the old style crescent wrenches is that they always wiggle themselves open and you have to readjust all the time. This is no factor anymore with the Knipex ones. They are a tad pricey but worth it IMO.

That's a pretty good EDC for your needs, and not a lot of people really have videos like this, so we'll done on your presentation and explanation of what you have and why.
Here's basically what I have as my EDC, and this is all pocket carry as I do have a bag for work that contains some extras for what I may need, but so far my pocket EDC has been useful for my basic day to day requirements:
I've got my Leatherman Surge (with pocket clip, and yes I carry it like that)
Small sized BIC lighter (there when really needed most)
Pen (for when I quickly have to take down info)
Wireless earbuds (does come in handy when receiving calls and you can't use your hands to hold the phone at the same time)
USB with both USB A and USB C capabilities (especially useful when I need to send information / data / spreadsheets through for work related purposes that aren't usually stored on my phone, hence the built in USB C functionality)
Those are the basics, but I also have a car charger plug with USB A and USB C ports with a USB C - USB C cable, USB A - USB C cable & USB A - Micro USB cable for when me or my colleague needs to charge our devices, and when I may also need to charge the standby phone etc. I also have my Leatherman Bit Kit + Ratchet Driver for when I need that, and I guess that's basically what my daily EDC kit consists of. Not much, but definitely the stuff I use and require most of the time.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I know it doesn’t apply to everyone, but I’m surprised you don’t carry a spare set of eye glasses in your EDC kit. Talk about something I absolutely couldn’t function without. Contacts or glasses. If I lost a contact or broke my glasses and couldn’t fix them, I’d be SOL without a spare!

Good stuff. One tip, if you get a usb-c to Iphone cable (does not need to be the from Apple) then your can charge up to 3 time faster since the spec will let your battery go at a rate of up to 18watts. The charging cord you have is usb-a that will go only at 10 watts. If you are using maps on your phone it may never charge up while driving and then you get to your destination and have to use the portable bank.

Some people may be carrying earplugs because they are packing. The hearing damage from an indoor shooting can be brutal.
But earplugs can mess with your situational awareness, so it is not universally accepted as best practice.
Multi-state work/travel is not usually compatible with carrying, so it is more for people who stay in their home state.
I like to carry some cordage. My favorite compact cordage is 300# polyester kite line, which is more compact than 275 or 550 paracord.
My pocket carry knives are a Benchmade Freek for boxes and possible outdoor survival, Victorinox Craftsman for scissors and fixing stuff (file, saws, pliers, tiny chisel, screwdrivers) and an Opinel 8 Carbone for meal time that is long enough without scaring office people (poor man's gentleman knife). Also a Kershaw pry tool as my key chain.
Initial ideas for the pouch contents :
It has been cargo pocket carry for me so far, but you have inspired me to make a kit. I'll try a 9"x5" and an 8"x4" and see how it goes.
I'll treat the case for water resistance. Waterproof matches (wood matches coated in thinned shellac) and a lighter.
Small tape measure. 50 feet of the 300# hollow braid kite line and 10 feet of 3mm accessory cord.
Mini-roll of duct tape, maybe just around the lighter. A few feet of small gauge inconel wire (aircraft tie-down wire).
Small fixed blade - probably an old Schrade USA 154-OT Sharpfinger in carbon steel, reportedly 1095.
A mini screwdriver with T6-T10 and a couple hex bits for knife scale and pivot tune-ups. Maybe 2 phillips bits also.
I've been carrying a Gerber MP450, but I'll probably get one of the newer models for the pouch.
Small flashlight that can take a single 14500 lithium or AA alkaline battery.
Small kit of android phone accessories - USB-C/OTG cable, ear buds, charge cables, headphone/mic splitter.
10 Ah backup battery. Wall charger. Cigarette lighter charger.
    Earplugs.
If I'm really on the road, then I'll add a small two sided sharpening stone - ceramic/diamond.
The kit should cover for a lack of cargo pockets, so planning what leaves the pockets and goes to the pouch is the tricky part.

I think it’s been on my brain for a while but I definitely gotta slim down my kit. I carry a whole backpack everyday and I like that for portability and versatility but sometimes it’s easy to add stuff till it’s full. Gotta pare it back every once in a while. My pocket check is a pilot precise v5, pocket notebook, timex weekender, various knives And my most recent addition being a Klarus e1!!

Congrats on the Klarus! I have had times where my full carry was more backpack size, and I do carry a backpack most days for work/adventure. This is my go to must grab stuff if I can only grab one thing. Simple is always good in my book.

I use cotton for earplugs and for padding under band aids. most band- aids don't stay on , so I tear a piece of duct tape off about half a inch wide by 3 inches long and the band aid stays on the whole day. since it's hard to get off when you want to change the bandage, I use a scissor to get it off.

I got a small EDC kit and a large EDC like yours with similar items. Some things I really like are the Leatherman Rebar because it's so thin and small takes less space and weight to pack. I also have the 6" Knipex pliers wrench which is really great but pricey. I really like the Klein electricians scissors. They can cut clam-shell packaging, cardboard, paper, paracord, wire etc... and are very small and thin to pack in a EDC kit. I keep a Gatoraid drink mix single server packet in each kit. When you get low energy and been out all day, sugar and electrolytes in your water that is meant to keep athletes going is great. Instead of a flashlight I now use a Fenix HM50R V2.0 headlamp. It's so small and has amazing run time for a 16340 size light. It's USB-C rechargeable and doubles as a right angle flashlight that tail stands so you can point it at things your working on or use the headband. It has a huge button that is easy to operate one handed even with gloves on and I daily pocket mine as the tail cap is anodized and a half turn locks out the battery so it can't turn on in the pocket. Got an extra 16340 battery for mine to.

@@zacinthewild Yeah check it out. If you go to the Urban Survivor RUclips channel and to his community tab, a few months ago I sent him pictures of a keychain mod for the Fenix HM50R V2.0 since its so small. Its was easy since there is an existing hole in the pocket clip and a chain worked well there. That is my current EDC still to this day! Finding it really good for EDC tasks as a flashlight mainly plus the headlamp function is nice. its also got red LED with an emergency flash which I can see using for my mountain bike if the tail light dies when I'm out with a zip tie. I actually bike home from work every night so you never know. Cheers man.

I've been carrying a small sling bag from Amazon for the past 4 years or so. Its not big by any means but it carry's a lot. It's got some Molly on the outside that I slipped a Kershaw Launch 11 (I think its the 11, its the smaller non Cali compliant one). Everything else would make this post too long but to give a short overview, I carry a lot of stuff for pain (I've had 34 surgeries for bone tumors) which consist of your standard over the counter stuff and Kratom. My daughter is with me most of the time so I have children's over the counter stuff too (she also has tumors). Then its mostly backup EDC stuff plus a Gerber multitool. I'm sure there are more than a few redundancies but it's a habit at this point lol

I have most of the same types of stuff as you except I keep 10 or 12 feet of 2 inch wide duct tape wrapped around an old expired gift card instead of electrical tape and I hate sporks. Years ago I found a stainless knife/fork/spoon set in the camping department of Walmart for something crazy cheap, like $1.89, so I picked up 5 sets. I keep one in the glovebox of each vehicle, one in my backpack and one in each of my edc pouches that I also keep in my vehicles. I could probably forego the knife that came with each set as my vehicle's all have knives in them as well as one in my pocket and in each edc kit. I also have P38 or P51 can openers on each key ring as well as in each edc pouch. Seems like most canned foods have pull off tops now but you still run into stuff now and then that you need a can opener to get into. I also keep a ziplock baggie with a few bandaids and a couple of single use packets of antibiotic ointment. I also have a pair of folding scissors in each edc kit, they're a bit bigger that what's on a SAK and have pointy tips so a little easier to use and more useful.

Thank you for reminding me. I constantly break fingernails at work. I needed to get an extra pair of fingernail clippers for my car. I am always working on my personal kit and a car kit. Somethings are in both, and some are specific to one. I have some things that I carry for a while without ever really using. When I realize I haven't used something it comes out. Sometimes I get into a situation and think, "Man, I could really use a ______ right now. Why isn't that something I have?" Then I add it to the kit. The kits are always evolving. There are always new situations that might require a better item set than what you have, and it is important to make changes as needed. Everyone's kit will be a little different.
